Patrick, representing the company A to Z Statewide Plumbing, arrived promptly upon our call to the company?s very efficient and well-organized 800-number dispatch. He arrived at the time promised and presented himself professionally, personably, ready and eager to address the problems at hand. He was knowledgeable, competent, and keen to do a good job at a fair price. Respectful of the our home and property, he donned protective booties over his shoes prior to entering our home as a way of protecting against tracking in soil. Right at the outset he reviewed the problem areas and easily understood what needed to be done. He explained the issues, answered every question, pointed out options and outlined the cost. Patrick addressed our main plumbing issue by thoroughly testing our kitchen faucets and fixtures after diagnosing a certain water hammer (knocking) issue that was vexing us. He made recommendations and did the appropriate repairs. After fixing our plumbing emergency, he patiently also worked on two or three other small plumbing issues that had been bothering us around the house. His attention and expertise made us feel like we had really gotten many nagging issues solved in his one visit. We appreciated the ability to pay by credit card. We would recommend Patrick and will use him and A-Z Statewide Plumbing for future plumbing work in our home.
Description of Work: *Installed kitchen faucets and water filter *Fixed water hammer (hot/cold) *Drained/maintenance on hot water heater *Replaced showerhead fixture *Replaced stem valves for faucets

Our house is rented and we happened to be there when the toilet stopped working. We had this company come over to look at the problem. He told me the toilet needed to be rebuilt inside of the tank and that the valve needed fixed. He said this would cost $600.00. We knew the toilet was leaking and just had a service just like this done at our different house and it only costed $100.00. We told him that we weren't going to have it done because a new toilet would be cheaper. He then said it would cost $318.00 and we felt like he was taking us for a ride since he changed the prices. He was upset when told him we weren't going to have him fix the problem. He then tried to make us feel guilty stating that our tenants wouldn't have the toilet. He didn't provide other options to us, and as a plumber he should have helped the situation. I ended up having someone else come out and it only costed us $97.00.
Description of Work: We had him come out to repair a toilet that was leaking.

Dear Angie's Member, We would like to apologize for the poor experience you had with us several years ago. We noticed that the review was recently updated and we wanted to just touch base to let you know that we are sorry that you were not satisfied and that you were not provided options. FYI the technician that addressed your concern is no longer with A to Z Statewide Plumbing. Thank you for your honesty. This helps us grow as a company. Sincerely, A to Z Statewide Plumbing

1/10/12 Toilet started not to shut off when the tank was full. Purchased an Angie's List Deal - $99 for $299 plumbing dollars. 1/11 I called, explained problem, saying would also have outside faucet drip repaired if Deal would cover the cost, was given an appt, advised there was a $89 trip charge. Was told charges would be determined after an inspection. 1/12/12 Patrick arrived, inspected the faucet & toilet, advised the $89 trip cost would be an addl collection - not covered by plumbing dollars. Told Patrick that had not been disclosed to me. Patrick called company to have appt call recording reviewed (don't believe there was the legally required call recording notice given). Not sure the outcome of the call recording review. Patrick quoted $429 for the toilet repair & offered to drop the trip charge if I had both the toilet & faucet repaired. I declined. The toilet quote was dropped "2 levels" to $373. I declined. He offered to drop the trip charge at the lower "level" price. I declined, counter offering to have the toilet only repaired for the $299 plumbing dollars I had already paid for. At this point I just wanted to have the toilet repaired & never do business with this company again. Patrick declined, telling me A to Z doesn't get the $99 from Angie's List, it probably cost $60 to drive to my house & the company had to pay overhead costs, phone operator & office people, etc.. I told Patrick we weren't going to do business. H requested to write & leave a 2 repair proposal good for 30 days. I accepted that. This was a nightmare, like a timeshare sales pitch. 1/13/12 the toilet repair was done today by another Angie's List plumber for $129.10
Description of Work: No repairs were performed. This company does not use an hourly labor fee structure. They use a high-level pre-priced fee table. The original fee table quote to repair a toilet not shutting off when the tank was full was $429. I declined . I was then offered a "2 level" reduction to $373. I declined. No one should do business with A to Z unless they know the repair need & the usual cost. I had the repair made the following day by another Angies List plumber for $129.10 (aligns wih cost for same repair to a different toilet several years prior.) Angie's List & A to Z were told 1/12/12 what occurred. After 24 hours, I called Angie's List to complain the Deal still did not have the $89 trip charge disclosure that could not be paid with the $299 deal dollars. The young lady offered to credit the $99 deal charge. I told her processing a credit should be driven by Angie's List policy. She said the credit would be processed. And the Deal is no longer available. A to Z, Michelle, called 1/16 & explained the addl $89 trip charge, not payable with the Angie's List coupon was due to their promotion cost sharing with Angie's List. I explained that was their right to do that, but the deal should have included a trip disclosure. Michelle asked what she could do to reverse my experience. I told her she could not because I would not use a repair service that quoted high charges & lowered, when declined. I explained if I had not had this repair done prior, I wouldn't have know the usual cost & would have been scammed. Michelle was very nice about it. I am not sure if the lack of disclosure came from Angie's List or A to Z Plumbing. Bottomline, I spent at least 30 minutes being professional to this plumber haggling prices with me & my repair was delayed a day.

Dear Angie's Member, We noticed that this took two years to be modified. I would like to apologize for all instances that happened in your specific incident. Similarly, we had several poor experiences resulting from a poorly planned ad campaign. The persons you mention in this review are no longer with the company and we have reevaluated our approach in advertising to eliminate experiences such as yours. Respectfully, A to Z Statewide Plumbing

AJ, the plumber, was very thorough in making sure they ordered the proper models of the new equipment we wanted. Because of that and the holidays, the project was delayed until after the first of the year. They also made sure we got favorable prices based our and their research. The installation and preparatory work were major projects and took most of the day (half of the price was labor), but everything was done successfully and well. And came in exactly at the estimate. For those undertaking such work it's recommended that you do your homework first on exactly what you want and whether it will fit and do the job for you. Once your ready A to Z is very good at advising, ordering and installing. We were also pleased that AJ was able to advise on and fix a couple of minor other problems as he went along.
Description of Work: We had A-Z secure and install a new toilet and a new kitchen faucet. Both jobs also required snaking the drains in each location and in the case of the kitchen sink, required diagnosing and fixing a serious low pressure problem.

It was our first experience with EVER having to have the septic tank cleaned out. They totally took advantage of us with the price. They charged more than 5 times what it was worth and because we had cash, gave us 10% off. Woo Hoo. The next time we had to have it drained, we only paid less than 1/5 of what they charged for the exact same service and have never paid more than 1/5 again.I was referred to them from Rockline Vac Systems, who I used to work for. I didn't even think about shopping for prices because I thought I was being given a good thing.

A - Z was supposed to be at my location between 12-5, called several times no one could tell me if the guy was coming , the technician finally called at 6pm arrived at my house 6:30pm. I had a toilet leaking upstairs into my 1st floor bathroom, he cut a hole in the ceiling to make sure there was no pipe leaking - Ok - then went up to replace the wax ring cracked 2 of the tiles and left at 9pm the bill was 400+ I did have a 10% of coupon. The guy was was supposed to refer a drywall person for the ceiling - NEVER CALLED, and told me he would come back and repair the tile on his own time (I had the tiles). NEVER CALLED. Now I have had to pay another company to come in and repair the tile and remove the toilet for this issue $330 and I have someone coming in to fix the hole in my ceiling I do not have a price on this yet. A Wax ring for my toilet will cost me approximately $1,000, absolutely ridiculous.

I am a relatively new homeowner, and was offered a deal to have my water heater flushed through this company by Angie's List. Doing my homework, they were stellar in review. An appointment was made, and complete communication was provided between the company and myself as to his estimated time of arrival. Dean, was on time. Immediately, seeing him place shoe covers on prior to entering my residence, I knew the level of care he would provide. I knew the water heater was old. Dean did a remarkable job in cleaning out the system, and made recommendations on my water heating. Being 13 yrs old, I knew the tank should be replaced. Dean gave me an estimate on replacing the system with a new tank. When I mentioned other type of water heating systems I might be interested in, he gave me his professional opinion, made further suggestions and provided me with knowledge. I most definitely plan on using this company again to replace my water heating system. This is my first time using a company through Angie's List, and I could not have made a better choice. Being pleased at this moment is putting it mildly. Ecstatic is more like it. Finding a company and service professionals you can trust, is 99% of the battle. Thank you A To Z Statewide, and thank you Dean.

. Having properties in Florida and living in Pennsylvania, I have had bad experiences with people working on my houses. My father usually takes care of maintenance on the houses but was out of the country that month and one of the houses the septic tank backed up. I remembered seeing the Angies list commercial and I decided to try it out. After reading the reviews for A to Z plumbing, I called them and from the cheerful and friendly greeting from Bonnie, I was assured I had found the right place. She took down my information and passed me through to Luis who went to the house and immediately called me and walked me through all the steps that were necessary. Being that this was a huge and costly problem, he fixed what was urgent and made recommendations for future repairs that would need to be done to completely fix the problem. When I said I needed to get other estimates he was very understanding and sent me a detailed estimate so that I would be able to compare apples to apples. A to Z plumbing cost a bit more but the service which they provided and the peace of mind that they gave me was worth every penny. When the job was complete they called and emailed me the final bill and it was exactly what they had estimated. I will continue to use them forever and would highly recommend them for any of your plumbing needs.nnecte
Description of Work: A to Z Plumbing removed the old septic tank and connected the system to the city septic tank. Very costly and large messy job which required removal of old septic tank and digging up entire yard and running 70 feet or so of pipe to new city hook up.

I signed up for the Angie's list deal. The next day I received an email from Bonnie asking when I would like to set up the appt. Patrick showed up right on time. He looked over the dishwasher and we found out that it was a counter top model and could not be mounted under the counter. He even called the 800 phone # to make sure there was nothing being missed. There was a concern that removing the current sink my damage the counter top, but he was able to get it off without any real damage. He was at my condo most of the day and he was so clean, polite, and communicated information on what he was doing. He did a great job and I would definately recommend A - Z Statewide to others!!!!

I called the company on Friday and they scheduled a plumber on Saturday afternoon. The plumber, Patrick Simmons, arrived on Saturday. He was very polite and professional. The plumber gave me a quote and I agreed to the price. He removed a paver and dug up the supply line and found the elbow in the main supply line to the house. He replaced the pipe from the elbow up to the cutoff. The job was very well done and it was apparent that Patrick took pride in his work. He was neat, careful, and did not leave a mess, the plumbing was well oriented vertically and well soldered. He took care to cover the pavers with plastic before digging up the pipe and carefully and cleanly reset the paver leaving the area as he found it and clean. The whole job took about 2 hours. I would use A to Z again.
Description of Work: Replace vertical pipe from underground elbow to main cutoff valve for the house and main supply for the house. The orginal pipe installed by the builder in 1994 was installed improperly at an angle where it connected with the cutoff valve and the couple was leaking. The water leak was damaging the wall of the house.

I had purchased Angie's special for the Hot Water Heater flush. A to Z called me promptly after signing up and scheduled to come on Saturday as I work during the week. Patrick showed up on time as scheduled. As soon as he looked at the water heater he showed me how bad the condition was and that it was not safe to leave it that way. I could see where the problem was and was very glad to have caught it before it burst. Although he was not scheduled to replace the water heater that day, he told me he would take care of it because he would not take a chance of leaving the old one in place. He needed to go to his supply house and pick up a water heater that would fit the space and brought back a very good brand that I was happy about. He worked with me on the price to the best of his ability as he knew this was not an expense I was expecting that day. Patrick was professional, and thoroughly knowledgable, I felt confident he knew what he was doing. He explained everything in detail and was very pleasant to work with. There are several other things that need to be fixed and I will ask for Patrick specifically to return when I schedule it. The Company should be pleased they have such an employee, it's hard to find a lot of people with good work ethics in South Florida. Their office staff was also very nice and professional and attentive and have called me twice to make sure everything was done to my expectations and to respond to a comment I made on the final bill. I took out the Diamond Club service because I like the idea I will have a good company to count on when any plumbing issue comes up. That is peace of mind!

I made an "executive decision" - without telling my husband, - and bought the "Special" offered on Angie's List - for $299 worth of plumbing services for $99 from A to Z Plumbing. I bought the "special" and called them the day before Thanksgiving. They set up the appointment for the day after Thanksgiving, and said they'd be here between 10 and 2 or so. Just before 10 am we got a phone call from Patrick, the Plumber saying he was on his way. He arrived very shortly afterwards. He looked at both showers, and said the master shower would be a bigger and more expensive repair since the handyman had botched the job. Patrick said he'd have to break open the wall behind the shower to install new pipes and instead of us trying to match and repair the tile, he'd install a single faucet spicket that would cover the damage. He found the second shower had to have the valves rebuilt and he installed new handles as well. This young man, Patrick, was here all day, and left at about 5:00 pm. He was extremely professional, polite and punctual (PPP), was very much a gentleman, did such a good job, and cleaned up everything so well. My husband, who originally was not so thrilled with my "executive decision" - is extremely happy that the work was done by such a great guy/company, and he called A to Z Plumbing himself to tell them what a great job Patrick did and how very thorough and professional he was. As soon as I got home, he told me - I had to get on Angie's List and write a "review". He is also now - a firm believer in Angie's List! Thank you A to Z Pluminb, Patrick - and Angie's List for a great experience! PS: Hey A to Z,... Here's your new Motto: PPP = Punctual, Professional & Polite! - "A to Z is PPP".
Description of Work: We had problems with both of our showers. One was a constant, slow water drip. The second shower had the water flow blocked in the pipes behind the shower wall. A handyman we knew said he could fix it, and he made matters worse by removing the some shower tiles, the faucet handles, and damaging the pipes, before he left. It was obvious he didn't know what he was doing, and we told him the next day, we would get a "real" plumber to finish the job.

I give AJ and Evan an A rating. They were professional, clean and respectful. I would definitely recommend and use A to Z Statewide Plumbing again.
Description of Work: A to Z Statewide Plumbing dispatched their service tech (AJ) a couple of hours after my initial call. Our problem was a terrible odor that emanated from the kitchen sink and an occasional backup when using the kitchen sink and the washer draining at the same time. AJ tried several tests but a back up did not occur nor did the odor come out. AJ suggested that we have a smoke test done so show where there could be a break in the pipe that could cause these problems. A test was scheduled for 11/21/11 in the morning. AJ and Evan arrived on time as promised and began the test. The test showed a possible break in the pipes behind the outside wall behind the kitchen. This meant breaking the outside wall even though there was no assurance that there was a break. They gave an estimate and we told them to proceed. The problem was found - old pipes that were partially and almost completely clogged. AJ and Evan replaced the pipes, cleaned out standing water in the wall, sealed the holes in the outside wall and tested their work.

I had a backup with my septic tank so needed it fixed quick. The company came out within hours of me contacting them. I was given a quote and the technician was ready to start work as soon as I accepted the cost. Dos - Showed up ready to work. Dos - Showed up on time. I thought no one did that any more! Dos - Completed the work described to me during the quote processes. Dos - Explained the results I could expect from the work being done. Don'ts - Try to sell me anything I didn't need. The work couldn't be completed that same day due to a terrible thunderstorm. But Steven was back right when he said he would be the next day. I don't think Steven tried to get me to sign off on work I didn't need. In fact, it was more the other way around. I got the impression he was doing everything in his power to provide me the repair work I needed. I'll keep this company for all my plumbing needs for as long as they'll have me!
Description of Work: Dos - troubleshooting the problem until it was discovered my drainfield wasn't working. Dos - Steven and Steve pumped out and cleaned out my septic tank. (The last company that pumped out my septic tank didn't pressure was it.) Dos - Cleaned out the drainfield until it started working again. Dos - Reburied the septic tank Don'ts - Didn't drag out the job or shortchange me.

i received an offer from angie's list to have a hot water heater flush and inspection from this company and decided to take them up on the offer. first let me say that i am very handy but this is one of those jobs that i just never seem to get around to doing. i've also tried a lot of different plumbing companies and was never really happy with any of them. but i thought A to Z plumbing was terrific. the scheduling lady was very nice and professional. and the plumber (patrick) was also very professional and polite. yes. there was a recommendation for a new hot water heater. (mine is almost 10 years old) but the plumber was able to speak to me intelligently about my hot water heater and what was wrong with the way it was plumbed in. he was also able to discuss with me the option of a tankless hot water heater, how that would work, etc. i never felt like it was a high pressure sell and the estimate for the new hot water heater & installation was quite reasonable. i will definitely call A to Z plumbing again.
Description of Work: A to Z plumbing performed a hot water heater flush and inspection. aside from the visual inspection of the hot water heater tank and plumbing, the plumber checked the heater elements, thermostat, inlet & outlet and pressure release valve. he connected a hose to the drain valve and flushed out the heater to remove the sediment that naturally builds up in the hot water heater over time. during inspection, the plumber noted that the pressure exhaust line is under sized (& not to code) which could cause the heater to explode if it couldn't release the pressure fast enough through that line. he also recommended a new shut off valve as the current one is 50+ years old and probably won't work properly in an emergency.

Best Service Company I have ever seen. They were simply outstanding. Kimberly the girl who makes the appointment was super nice and very professional. Sammy the guy who serviced the water heater was very professional. First time I saw some who covered his shoes with shoe cover before entering the house. I was very impressed.
