State Certified Roofing

They came in, quoted it February and we accepted it at the end of April. I contacted them several times about when they'd start and finally settled on Sept. 4th. It poured that day, so we had to reschedule. When I reached out to reschedule, they didn't respond. This went on for awhile until I told them I no longer to do business with them. Then, they responded 15 minutes later and offered a refund minus the permit fees. There was never a permit applied for or issued so I told them they could not do that. There are 4 other complaints similar to this with the BBB and I still have not received a refund.

He didn’t show up nor call, we had to call him to get an explanation. Then promised he would come on Wednesday and still didn’t show up or call.

Also, I hesitate to grade this company since they did not perform any work for me. I believe there should be a bullet indicating that I did not use the company rather than having to give them a grade. I will not grade anything lower than a "C" as I don't know anything about the quality of the company's work. They just did not get in contact with me and might have forgotten to do so. So, I will give them the benefit of the doubt.

There were no troubles with scheduling and they were punctual. The technician came out, completed the inspection, and advised there were no problems. It was a fine experience.

After purchasing our first home we were surprised to find leaks to our roof we contacted state certified roofing to schedule a estimate and was very pleased that they were available to meet with me that afternoon . Rolando assured me that his team could make repairs the very next day , all I can say is this company is the real deal, arrived on time and cleaned up after themselves Thanks again I will definitely refer this company to friends and family

Once they started working, they got a lot done quickly and always cleaned up after themselves. The workers would arrived promptly and after working all day they would clean up after themselves. I would speak to Marty whenever I had a question or concern, and he would always return my calls .Marty always went above and beyond and made an otherwise stressful situation into a stress free one. I would gladly recommend this company to any one without any reservations.

I flew in from New York for the scheduled job of July 1 between 1-3 pm. Waited till 3 and called. The service tech was running late, and I could not wait any longer. I had to fly back to New York and cannot reschedule. Thank you for your time.

LOOKED AT THE ROOF. WAS JUST INTERESTED IN DOING A ROOF WITH INSURANCE MEDIATION IMPROVEMENTS. FIRST THING HE SAID WAS, "MIND IF I TAKE A PEEK IN THE ATTIC." WALKED AND MEASURED THE ROOF. DISCUSSED PRODUCTS, SAID HE WOULD BET BACK WITH ME. NEVER HEARD FROM HIM AGAIN

About 6 months ago the provider came out to look at two leaks we had in our roof. The person who came out was very rude and unprofessional. He looked at our roof and gave us a quote of $1,600 to fix the two leaks. We said we would call back when we had the funds which took longer then we expected. The owner was supposed to come out again on June 5, 2014 to re-quote the job. My husband and I waited for over an hour, on our only day off and no one showed. We called and were told he forgot. We then rescheduled for someone to come out at 10:30 on June 12, 2014. It was made clear that my husband wanted to handle this and he would be at a meeting until then. At 9:35 my doorbell rang and it was the company rep who barely spoke English. He said he was told to come early by his boss. He looked at the leak, went up on the roof and took a picture or two of the one spot and then said they could do the roof that day. I said I would not do anything without a quote. A few hours later we got a call and were quoted $2,100 to fix the one leak but we were also told we needed a new roof. They also said they had no record of anyone ever coming to our house before. As I stated, the rep never walked my whole roof. He just stayed in the one area. We do not feel comfortable dealing with the company. I know they were once one of the best around, but they seem to be going downhill which is a shame. I have found another Angies List provider who found 5 leaks, gave us a great price with a 2 year warranty and treated us with respect. Now I have to call this company back and try to get my $100 back. UPDATED 6/18/2014 MY INITIAL REVIEW WAS A STRAIGHT F WHICH WAS WELL DESERVED. HOWEVER, THE OWNER TOOK TIME OUT OF HIS BUSY SCHEDULE TO CALL ME ON MONDAY. HE SPENT OVER A HALF HOUR ON THE PHONE WITH ME AND MY HUSBAND TRYING TO MAKE THINGS RIGHT. IN ALL FAIRNESS, THE OWNER HAD NO IDEA WHAT HAD HAPPENED TO US AND WAS HONESTLY SHOCKED BY WHAT WAS SAID. WE WERE BOTH VERY IMPRESSED WITH HOW MUCH HE CARES ABOUT HIS BUSINESS. HE PROMISED TO RETURN OUR CHECK AND TWO DAYS LATER WE HAD OUR REFUND AS PROMISED. THE WORK THIS COMPANY DOES IS SUPPOSED TO BE ABOUT THE BEST AROUND, BUT WE NEVER GOT A CHANCE TO FIND OUT. WE TRULY HOPE THAT THEY ARE ABLE TO FIX WHATEVER PROBLEMS THEY ARE HAVING. HAD IT NOT BEEN FOR THE OWNERS QUICK RESPONSE TO OUR REVIEW THE F WOULD HAVE STOOD. WE WISH THEM WELL.

They came out and got on the roof. They found things that I did not need. They took pictures and tried to sell me a contract for insurance. This was for a fee every year and they said they would do an inspection and they will push you up on the list higher and you will get priority compared to someone who does not have the subscription with them. If you need an advocate they will be there for you and help you with the claim to the insurance company in case of any hurricane damage to your roof if you purchase the subscription. I thought it was a big waste and I got a second opinion from a different company and they said the items that were mentioned from this company were not correct. Buyer Beware! If you want a roof inspection roofing companies will do it for free so this was a waste.

Had some problems with what the estimate covered. After speaking with management it was corrected satisfactorily.

Very courteous and came on time. They did a good job.

The workers were professional and timely. The work seemed to be completed in a quality fashion. The only problem I had was they were supposed to follow up with me after the job and show me pictures of the problem areas and the repairs prior to enclosing the area which they did not. Other than that, I was happy with the job.

Job went well from review of situation to completion of the work. Very cooperative. Completed work as scheduled and promised.

Removed shingles and underlayment at the bottom 4 ft. of both valley's and adjacent to all sides of the 10 ft. cricket to expose wood deck and flashing. Removed the flashing metal and replaced damaged wood and installed new cricket flashing, primed and sealed. installed new underlayment , sealed seams and installed new shingles in the repair area. Replaced our 2'x4' skylight, which was damaged and leaking, with a new Miami Dade County approved 2'x4' skylight. Removed shingles, underlayment, and flashing around the skylight and replaced damaged wood where necessary. Cleaned, primed and sealed flashing detail, installed new underlayment, sealed seams and installed new shingles around skylight area. Sealed all exposed nails on roof and replaced some shingles that had lifted for no charge. Removed cap sheet and underlayment along perimeter edge of flat roof, removed improperly installed 2"x2" eave drip metal, replaced damaged wood where necessary. Replaced fascia wood and painted to match. Installed new eave drip metal and sealed. Installed new underlayment and cap sheet to the entire repair area and sealed seams. The crew showed up on time, and cleaned up the area they worked in every day before leaving. They were meticulous with all aspects of their work.

Provider arrived on time and inspected the roof exactly as described in your advertisement. He was professional, courteous, and respectful of our property. A great experience with this vendor.

It took awhile to receive the initial estimate; however, when we spoke with the company representative he was friendly. Once we received the estimate, we confirmed another company offered a more competitive price inclusive of everything needed. Once we cancelled the Big Deal, we did not receive a response to advise how to obtain the refund. Thank you.

Didn't follow up on my concerns about estimate.

The whole thing has gone like this. After trying to sell me on some roof inspection plan, I received his survey response about the roof. I called the owner of the company a few weeks later about my roof and purchasing one, he mentioned to me that he would send the same guy out to measure my roof. Yet the guy had told me that he had measured and taken photos of it during his previous business. Guys, I understand sales are down but don't tell a customer already concerned about your professionalism that you are sending someone out, and they never come out. I guess that the $79. was just me paying you to come out and try to sell me some roof inspection plan. What a scam! What a waste of $79 and what a waste of my time calling you back. Folks, you can tell the value of a company by the way they treat their lowest paying customer. It obviously isn't that great. I say no thanks to this deal.

never responded to the initial appointment and had to call to follow-up with them. The report was poor - never provided any type of services that was to be part of the package and just used it as a sale pitch. I would never use them. Should receive a refund for wasting my time.

Failed to carry out the Big Deal work agreement.

They checked all problem areas and gave me a price quote which was fair,but more than I had thought for the job. They had a crew there the same day and did all the work that |was agreed too.I might use them again but I would get 2 more price estimates. It was all very well done.

This roofer did not spend much time on my roof and came up with a count of 25 cracked tiles. This was not in accordance with a previous estimate.

They were very good and very efficient. They were helpful and we like them.

6/25 signed contract, 7/15 building permit picked up by roofer, 7/22 foreman came to inspect job, call placed to roofer several times between these dates, finally received call back on 7/24 that "may start either Thursday, Friday, or Monday depending on the weather" 7/26 started on flat roof-and dried in, 7/31 finished flat roof, tore off peaked roof and did strapping work to bring up to current code, 8/1 finished peaked roof, 8/2 roofer brought paper to sign that roof complete, finance company called to see if job complete, told no because closet and soffit/fascia work not done. Sent email to find out when job would be complete. Roof inspector Received phone call from roofer on Tuesday upset that payment was being withheld....explained would pay when job complete. His response was "we did the roof, the rest I was doing as a favor." It was all in the contract that I signed on 6/25. On 8/6 the roofing inspector came, the soffit man came and the carpenters came and completed the closet. I called the finance company that day and released the payment to the roofing company. Since that time I have sent several emails trying to get the release of lean, the wind mitigation report for my insurance company and the rebate information for the white tile and solar fan that the roofer said we would qualify for when we signed the contract. I received an email telling me it was in the mail and I still have not received it and it is now September 3. I am pleased with the actual work but the communication with the representative of the company I found to be extremely poor. For that reason I would not recommend the company to do business with and I would not use them again.
