Even thought this was a small repair job James was extremely responsive...on time ..and very professional!! I felt like I was being treated as if this was a much bigger job.. I will definitely recommend Sonshine Fencing whenever possible !!

Sonshine Fence came from Angie's List with an A rating, and at every step of the way, this small company earned that rating again, this time from me. I had an urgent situation for installing a fence around my swimming pool to meet building safety codes before my homeowner's insurance would not renew if it wasn't completed in 5 weeks. The first big plus was getting a call back from James, the owner, within 10 minutes of my calling him. I told him about the time pressure, and we made an appointment for the next day. He showed up right on time, although it was at the end of a long day-another plus for Sonshine. James was very engaging, even though he was juggling several instalations simultaneously. It's always nicer to deal with an upbeat and outgoing contractor, especially without being rushed because it was the end of a long workday for him. He went about surveying the site, taking measurements, and determining the most optimal placement of the gate to conserve expenses for me. He made a diagram of the fence locations so I could give it to another contractor to remove all the brush, cinderblock borders, and big plants, while avoiding my underground sprinkler system. He showed me samples of the three main colors, black, white, and bronze, and drew up a contract, asked for a 50% deposit, and we chatted and snacked since he was obviously past his dinner time. Since I never had occasion to build a fence before, he patiently ran through my responsibilities (getting the deed). and his (doing all the paperwork to pull the permit). Everything ran smoothly, and each time I had a question, I ALWAYS got a call back in a few hours. The day before the fence was to be put up, my uncle died and I had to leave to help my aunt. James said he and his associate Mikey didn't need me, so he took my cell phone number and I left. Mikey, who, like his boss, was pleasant as he started unloading the fence sections and tools. They handled everything, and t got one call, at about 6 pm, saying the job was finished, and I shouldn't use the gate until the concrete was set the next day. By the time I returned home, it was raining, so I suspect they got wet. But the fence was a handsome and well-constructed addition, and I couldn't find where the dirt from all the post holes was placed. They dumped it in several locations to keep things neat, and there was no debris anywhere in sight. James told me that to pass inspection, the fence had to be grounded in several locations, and he would send a specialist to finish off the last detail. When the specialist didn't show up in a week like James mentioned because he was busy, I didn't call to find out what happened. Instead, James, who was keeping an eye on the follow-up, called to say he was sending another person so the project would be finished and ready for the inspector. This back up person was another on time and commendable debris-free professional. As I said every detail was smooth and on time for my insurance policy. And when a friend stopped by to feed my cats when I had to go away for 2 days, she commented that the fence was a "beautiful" job. In all, I will be using Sonshine again, and he reflects very positively on the quality of Angie's List A-rated companies. And by the way, when I first read his website, it mentioned a $50 discount for our members. Before I could remind him, he had already and automatically deducted it on the first contract. Honest and competent is a winning combination!

Sonshine Fence was great to work with. They came out and gave an estimate within a couple days of first contact, then guided us through the process. They pulled the permit with the city, gave us the documentation we needed for the HOA approval, and installed the fence quickly. The permit came through quicker than we expected and they were ready to start the day after they received it. Entire install took 1 1/2 days for 230 linear feet and 2 gates - they even finished off the gates in the rain to get it done on time. Workers were professional, cleaned up after done, and did a great job. James' installers seem to work with him on a regular basis and he was present during portions of the install on both days - including a final walk through once it was done. All interaction throughout the process was directly with James (the owner), not a secretary or a subcontractor. All in all, a great experience and the fence looks fantastic! Update 8/28/14 : Fence looks great a year later. We've recommended James to anyone we know looking for a fence - and they've all been just as happy as us with his company. Easily one of the best companies we've worked with for anything on our house!

James and his team did an amazing job! Throughout the entire process he maintained a high degree of professionalism and ensured a quality product was delivered. Post installation he followed up through each inspection (3 in total because of the new pool) to personally validate there were no issues. He is by far one of the best vendors I have worked with and would highly recommend him!

My entire interaction with Sonshine Fencing was a pleasure from beginning to end. James (the Owner) met me several times at my house for consultation and submitting quotes. He worked with me to get the exact HOA permissions needed for the special permitting needed in my particular case. He was always punctual and friendly and always returned my calls if he couldn't pick up the phone immediately. He was also happy for me to obtain quotes from some other companies, knowing his price and workmanship would stand comparison with anyone (the same cannot be said about the other companies I contacted!) The quote was clear, with each item listed seperately, so there was nothing hidden. After James had obtained the county permits he and his crew showed up exactly as arranged. Once the details were sorted, James left me in the hands of his crew chief, Mark, who oversaw the installation of the fence with confidence and an eye for detail. They worked steadily and were very tidy, needed nothing from me The fence was installed within the 2 days estimated, the quality and workman ship are top-notch. The finishing touches to dog-proof any gaps were outstanding. James and all his employees really care about their product and service; I would recommend this company time and time again!

It went great. James always showed up on time. Offered great advice. Gave me accurate assessment of the time it would take to get the permit, materials, and install the fence. The actual installation took one full day. All work completed at that time. Everyone very professional and helpful.

james was great. very easy to get a hold of and worked with us through the hoa approval process. was scheduled to have fence installed within a week of hoa approval. got the fence installed over the course of 2 days and worked through heavy rains both days. made sure to follow our requests for very little 'peek-a-boo' areas between fencing and gate so as to limit amount of view our dogs could have outside the fencing. the fence looks great!!

The installation was completed in one day, and the end result is a beautiful fence.

When installed the gate worked perfect and for a great price. Due to the weight of the gate it has since settled (in two weeks) and is now sticking and no longer level. When the latch is opened and you pry it loose with a bit of effort the gate swings open on it's own which makes it difficult to close if you have your hands full. It opens on its own again because it is not level.

Sonshine Fence Co did a fantastic job on my fence. James, the owner, was on the job through the whole process- initial meeting, permitting, and the installation. The work was done in the historical area of the Town of Lake Worth and that made the permitting process more difficult but James stayed right on top of the situation and handled any of their questions. I picked up the permit myself since I was already at the building department on Thursday, called James to tell him that we finally had the permit, and he was there 2 days later on Saturday starting the job and finished it on the following Monday. I am a state licensed general contractor so I am familiar with all of the different trades and Sonshine Fence gets my highest recommendation. Process of getting estimate was very smooth

Overall, project went well. Timeline took a little longer than anticipated due to delay in getting permit, but that was not an issue for me. James kept me informed of progress which was helpful and greatly appreciated.

We called several companies and his was by far the best price by a couple of hundred dollars but we also considered Angie's List reviews, which were all superb. His excellent ratings are well deserved. He was readily available by phone before, during, and after install. Installation was quick and final product was flawless. I you are looking for a fence, Sonshine is a must call and should be a top consideration.

James replaced a privacy fence and did a great job. He built the fence on-site rather than buying prefab sections, which I think enhanced the quality. He cleaned up afterwards and the fence looks great. He's a nice person and easy to deal with. Definately recommended.

James was very friendly and easy to work with. He was very prompt in getting us a quick estimate. Once our HOA approved the project, he was quick to order supplies and schedule and installation date. James and his co-worker were very professional. They left our yard very clean. The fence came out just as expected. And their follow-up visit to inspect and touch up paint the fence was greatly appreciated. We are very pleased with our fence and this company was great to work with.

We have custom welded fencing up, and he found a great match for the materials and was able to get the fence set up very quickly. He was an absolute pleasure to work with and I would absolutely recommend him to anyone else.

The service was excellent. He was very prompt and always right on time. I had just gotten a young pupy and I wanted to make sure I had a fence put right away. He came right out and was very quick with putting up the fence. I appreciated how he was always right on top of the permit requrements, which is very important in a lot of areas.
