3 years ago almost to the day I bought a top-loading HE washer from Best Buy, primarily for environmental reasons. It was essentially a computer that washed my clothes, &, unfortunately, like most computers, it did not have a long life. I had to repair it twice while it was under warranty, and it just broke again in January 2018. I'd used Ron before for my ancient but great dryer, &, as he comes highly rated here, trust him. He said something fried my motherboard & he was afraid to run any tests on it because he was worried it might fry his test motherboard, which meant he would have to replace it outright at well over $300 (total washer cost was about $500). He offered me an option: he'd just bought an environmentally efficient but non-HE washer that was nearly new. The person from whom he'd purchased it was overhauling her living area & getting rid of all her appliances so he bought them from her & would sell me her nearly-new washer installed for $250. Considering my washer was no longer under warranty & was going to cost more than that in just this repair, and, given its history, would cost more down the road, I took him up on it. So with a little creativity on his part & flexibility on my part, I got a washer that was a little newer than my broken one, is much less computerized but still environmentally good, and less prone to breakage simply because there's not as much stuff on it to break. I tried it today & it worked well, seemed to wash my gym clothes better than my previous washer. Very much appreciated his helpfulness with combining cost savings with a better product.

I contacted Ron Taylor Appliance Repair Service, I have utilized their company on two other occasions if not more. They are honest and are always on time and have kept their word, In addition their technicians are very knowledgeable and always are willing to answer any questions regarding your appliances in general. On one visit the tech inspected several appliances at no further charge. I contacted RT on 09/13/16 and left a message I was called back promptly within the hour, I spoke to Mr. Taylor himself and he advised me that he could be at my premise with a new processor on the 15th we made the appointment. Mr. Taylor himself responded on time at the appointment time. He called me early morning on the day of the appointment and discussed his schedule for that day and said that he would be on time but it would be later within his three hour window for arrival. He called again and advised me that he would be at my home instead of later but within the second hour and at a specific time. He arrived looked at my processor/disposal and confirmed that it was burned out, changed the old Whirlpool product and installed it within 30-45 minutes. He kept his word on the quote he gave me over the phone. Yes I will use them again in the future.
Description of Work: My food processor under my sink needed to be replaced it was 14 years old.

Ron was helpful over the phone and answered my questions. He looked up my dishwasher and found parts that fit my description so he could fix the dishwasher with one visit. He was also flexible when I called the night before the first scheduled appointment to say I'd been called into work on my off day because two people were sick and one was out of town. I'd assumed I needed more work done on the refrigerator than it required. When he got here, he said the water and cold air leaks were not from the defroster but from ill-fitting freezer and refrigerator doors..He pulled them off, made adjustments, and put them back on. Much better. Ron quickly replaced the broken rack to track connector, too. Ron also waited for me to clean behind the refrigerator before he put it back.
Description of Work: Refrigerator had a brown water leak and leaked cold air. Ron fixed refrigerator leak by adjusting doors and temperature setting. Dishwasher top rack popped off when the rack was full. Ron replaced the broken part.

It went very well. He was on time and professional. He informed us that the little freezer would be too costly to repair, and that for $100 more we could get a new one. What he fixed is working, and we took his advice, and will be purchasing an new small freezer.
Description of Work: I had a refrigerator that wasn't working because the freezer portion froze over. Also, a little freezer that wasn't working.

Ron answered the phone and I spoke to him directly. I asked about his experiences with the brands I was considering and asked for his impression. He gave me his experiences with the brands I was interested in, BUT MORE IMPORTANTLY, he explained the basis on which he formed those opinions. It was clear to me that he is very knowledgeable about the different brand of refigs, what their strong and weak points are and which would be best for different situations. To me, competence, knowledge and professionalism are the 3 most improtant traits I look for when I want something repaired. Ron will the be "go to" persom for me.
Description of Work: I am in the market for a refrig and, as part of it, I wanted to ask a qualifed repair technician about brand reliability . I called around and was most impressed with Ron and will use him for any repair work I may need.

I called Ron Taylor Appliances on 03/06/14, they had come out once before to fix a washing machine and did an excellent job. I originally found them on Angies List. I received a call from Ron Taylor Appliances on 3/7 and then again on 3/10 having not been able to return his call on 3/7. They set up a visit for 3/11 between 11AM and 1PM. On 3/11 at 11:10 AM Mr. Ron Taylor himself arrived at my home. He started work immediately and brought sevral parts with him to fix one faulty burner on my stove. He replaced the large burner or coil and associated parts, He tested the other burners and showed me that one small burner was also failed and not producing a complete coil response, he replaced it and all parts. He cleaned the range stove top and proceeded to replace all the burner trays under the coils. He gave us directions to never use aluminum foil under the coils and cover the receptacle trays, this can serve to short circuit burner connections, it is safe and best to replace the trays. The trays can be purchased at Sears or most hardware or local stores. He did not charge for the trays. He went on to look at a stuck food processor under my sink, I thought it would have to be replaced, instead he found it clogged with debree. He cleaned it internally and fixed back into operating condition. He gave us advice on how to maintain a sharp and clean operating processor; take ice cubes once monthly place them in the machine and turn it on, he also advised that a few lemon grinds once a month also keeps it from aquiring oders. He went on to look at my Refridgerator whose water dispenser was leaking or dripping from time to time. He looked at it and operated it and removed what was air pockets developed in the line it's self. He also said that a little paint on the dispenser handles where the water and ice dispense could be painted with plastic paint to clear water stains due to chemicals. ***** Five Stars for being HONEST! Mr. Taylor could have easily said that the Food Processor under our sink needed to be replaced but he did not he fixed it! This is a top notch individual and I will remain loyal and use His company again!
Description of Work: The provider, fixed and replaced two faulty burners and associated parts. He leveled all burners and replaced collection trays under burners. He fixed a stuck food processor under the sink, gave instructions on how to maintain the processor sharp and clean. He went on to fix leaky water dispensor on my Refridgerator which had air built up on the feed line.

When I called, he asked very specific questions that helped him pre-diagnose the issue, and was able to come ready with the needed parts. Ron was phenomenal. It's very evident that he knows what he's doing, and was direct and immediate with the issue. He's old school, no website and no fleet of employees. I would happily recommend him, and if I have an issue with other appliances, he'll be the first on my list to call as well. The $300 bill broke down into $200 for parts and $100 for labor. The ice maker was the greatest cost, and was a voluntary replacement. Without it, the cost would have been about $150.

He said that replacement would take care of things and two months later we are running into issues (not cooling; everything in the freezer is warming up, not staying cool). I called back and asked if he could take a look at it again, and he said he would charge a fee to take a look. This is a brand new fridge - I think it is ridiculous for him to charge again to come back out.

Based on his excellent reviews here at Angies List I contacted Ron Taylor. Within a day's time he was at my house and disassembled the dryer to discover a broken plastic blower disk. He ordered the part and returned to install it. With two trips to my house I thought I'd be looking at at least a $200 bill but it was much less than that (less than $150 if I remember correctly) with the part costing around $60-80. Ron is an excellent source for appliance repair and I will continue to use him when needed. I was happy to hear that he also works on A/C systems as I have been taken by A/C repair people before. It is good to know an appliance repair person who is responsive, capable, and very affordable. I cannot give a higher recommendation in Ron Taylor for your appliance repair needs.

I'm writing this at 10:30am. I called Ron at 8:30am. The repair is complete, he's gone. Obviously his punctuality and responsiveness are off the chart. Dryer (an ancient Roper) stopped heating last night, I got on Angie's List this morning. I contacted Ron because of his rating and proximity to me. He told me the possibilities of the causes for the lack of heat, and was here within an hour, even sooner than he said he'd be. He diagnosed the problem, replaced the heater, cleaned out my interior filter, which I didn't even know exists and was totally clogged, and I got a really good lecture on washer and dryer quality that's going to help a lot next time I need a new one. And the cost was happily less than I expected.

I called Ron to get my dryer repaired in my West Palm Beach home. I have moved to Dallas TX, so I am currently renting the home to tenants. Rod told me he would have to have my credit card number before he would even make a visit, saying that he has "trouble finding landlords". This was before we had discussed any details of the potential work or costs. I cannot say whether Ron does good work, because I decided not to do business with him. Life is to short to deal with someone so unprofessional (and condescending). I called a different company, who did a good job and gave me the choice to pay however I wanted to.

We called Ron, he told us he had a call and would be there with in 2 hours. He was there in plenty of time. Fixed the dryer right away. He is always professional, courteous and very knowledgeable. His honesty is amazing, if he can't fix it or is not sure of something he tells you. He doesn't "fake it". I am always satisfied with Ron's work. I won't call anyone else. We have rental units and use Ron for all our appliances. We have also bought used appliances from Ron to put in the units. His appliances are top notch and he always backs them up!

I picked out Ron's Appliance Repair from Angie's List based on the excellent ratings. I got Ron on the phone right away and he squeezed me into his schedule because he was in the area that afternoon. The service visit went very well and Ron was very professional and friendly to speak to. He answered all my questions and explained all his repairs and even suggested another vendor to clean out my dryer vent pipe. I will definetly call this company the next time I need service on my appliances.
Description of Work: 1. Dryer was not working. Repairman explained to me that the dryer had overheated due to a clogged exhaust pipe. He repaired 2 electrical components in the dryer and got it working again. He advised that I have the dryer vent pipe cleaned out quickly and suggested a reliable vendor to do that. 2. He replaced and fixed some plastic tabs on the agitator of the washing machine that had broken.

Since my Dad's dishwasher broke down around Christmas, I thought I would buy him a brand new one as a Christmas present. I went to Sears and the service was so poor and slack, I took it as a bad omen and cancelled the order the following day. Now what to do? I took a step back and hoped that perhaps it was an easy fix, so I went here and found Ron Taylor's name. I decided to wait until after the holidays, hoping maybe he could squeeze in my dad later in the week. Well, when I phoned today, Ron was very responsive and offered to go out TODAY!!! I couldn't believe it. I told my Dad to call me when Ron arrived. He called me later that afternoon and said Ron had fixed the problem. It was a burnt out wire - an easy fix and the bill totalled $89. The dishwasher is working again and we are all very pleased. Thanks, Ron. You certainly lived up to the stellar reviews on Angie and then some.
Description of Work: Ron came personally on the day I phoned and fixed my father's Kenmore dishwasher. The electric panel wasn't working. He found the problem immediately as a burnt out wire on the bottom of the machine. He commented to my father that this is a common problem on these machines as they do not secure the wires very well at the factory. He replaced the wire and the dishwasher is working again. He also told my father that this Kenmore model is a quality model and should last a long time. My father was very pleased with the quick response and level of service that Ron provided. Today Ron has gained two new customers -- me and my father!!!

Came home from work one night at 11:00 PM after a long day at work. Turned on oven to preheat and cook something. Walked the dog while oven was preheating. When I got back home, no heat coming from oven. Suspected heating element. Pulled oven out, looked things over, and was skeptical of my skills to repair. New appliances now have electronics that control things. Due to working so much, did not want to dedicate time and effort to finding the correct heating element, taking things apart and attempting repair myself. Went to Angie's list, and started calling repair shops at 08:30AM. I can only be home in the mornings due to work schedule. First two places were booked up and could not come out until the following week. Called Ron Taylor Appliance and Repair. Explained to Ron the issues. He told me to give him the model number so that when he sent a repairman out, he could have additional parts beside the heating element, in case there were other issues. Ron said that he would try to get a man out either that morning or the following morning. He would call first. Sure enough, about, 10:30, a man called and said he would be at my house in about 30 minutes. He arrived, I let him do his work without bothering him and in about 30 minutes he was done. Heating element replaced and the electronics were working fine. He told me that it is common that when the heating element burns out, the electronic board that controls the clock / timer and other circuits to the stove top and oven, goes bad. In this case it did not. The quick response and quick repair work were certainly appreciated.
Description of Work: Troubleshoot range, oven element not working. Replaced oven element, checked appliance to ensure electronics were working.

I had bought new towels which, when washed and dried, gave off an unbelievable amount of lint. In my efforts to clean out what was in the recess after I removed the lint filter, I dropped a long, thin plastic wand down where it doesn't belong. Since it's a Kenmore I called Sears Repair but after a very frustrating experience with an obviously off-shore call center, I called Ron yesterday and explained the situation. (It is worth noting that I also wanted someone to fix the door on my microwave; Ron told me he doesn't do that but recommended someone who does.) He said he'd be in the area today and would call if he could fit me in between appointments. I liked the way another reviewer put it so I'll steal it. Ron did what he said he would do, quickly and professionally, at the price he said he would do it. He had told me that he doesn't vacuum out the vent hoses but if he felt it was necessary would recommend someone. He checked and told me that it wouldn't be necessary. He noticed something in my garage and asked if I knew what it was for. I just purchased the home in June and told him I had no idea. It's a shelf for drying sweaters and shoes inside the dryer drum and he showed me how to use it. That was something I hadn't even asked him about, that he didn't have to do and was not being compensated for. I really appreciated it and felt it was a measure of the man, going above and beyond just the basics. There is no question that I will call him again when I need repairs and will recommend him highly when the opportunity arises. In today's day and age this kind of service is, unfortunately, a rare and very valued commodity.
Description of Work: Cleaned out the lint filter in my dryer. Took off the front door to clean out the lint build-up and remove a plastic object that had been dropped down there. Checked the filter hose to see if it was necessary to clean that as well, which it wasn't.
