No Mess No Stress Cleaning Service

I contacted Deanna Lynch back in August after seeing a listing for No Mess No Stress cleaning. The last renters of my one bedroom apt. left the place a huge mess so I wanted a basic cleaning, just enough to get contractors in. I said there was no furniture and was given a quote of $110. In hindsight I should have asked if this was for a deep or basic clean and what all that included, since I think we were not on the same page about what my unit needed and what the expectations were, even though I tried to describe the situation accurately as possible, but I digress. I asked if I could pay with a credit card since I am out of state, but Deanna she said she does not take credit cards and that she "never had any problems with checks." I was going to mail a check but the next day (8/25/12) she contacted me asking for at least a deposit before she went to the unit, so I agreed to western union her a deposit amount of $50 (it cost me $5 to send it.). I paid the deposit (still have the receipt stating such that it was sent in her name), but she did not go to the unit on the day we agreed. I did not mind since I was not there waiting , and also there was a bad storm passing through the area during those days, plus the unit had been empty for a few months already and I had given Deanna the access keycode to get in at her convenience. Deanna contacted me after the following week and said she would need an additional $300 to clean my unit since it was in such bad shape. i would have been happier if she just vacuumed the bugs up, and there was even a vacuum in the unit at that point in time, but I digress. I knew there were many dead bugs and renovations needed but nonetheless I was a surprised to hear this figure, so I asked if she could just send me my deposit back. She said she would send me a check., which I never got. This was as of early September. I repeatedly tried to call or text Deanna and I just kept getting the run around. First she claimed to have sent me a check but then she just stopped responding to my calls or texts as it became obvious that the check should have arrived in the mail already, and none ever did. My last contact with Deanna Lynch was on Thanksgiving. I was in west palm and used a local number to call her, and she was surprised when she called back and heard my voice asking her about the deposit I never got back. She was now claiming that that she had sent me a US Post Office Money Order, whereas entirely up until that point she had said she sent a check, and she said she was out of town for Thanksgiving but will be back the next day (Friday) and she claimed that she had a receipt at home with the serial number of the US Post office money order and that she could use the serial number to "check if the money order had been cashed or not" by contacting the US post office. I said I did not think that was possible and that I never received any check nor any money order from her., and at this point I would have been happy even getting back $25, but it was not the amount of the money, it was more the principle of the matter, and that I was not happy to have had to lie to my wife about getting the money back from her so that I would not have to forever hear about it from the Mrs. and Deanna said I can call her tomorrow (Friday) after 11 am and she will get the serial number, but when I did she again did not answer the phone and she never called me back since and I still to this day never received my deposit back. Furthermore when I was at the unit last (end of November) upon opening the door there was a strong smell of urine, which I cannot say was present when I was there in mid August. I even asked my neighbors and they told me that the previous tenants did not not have any dog in the unit, they did not hear any dogs, and they did not see anyone visiting with any dogs during the time it was rented out. I cannot say who is responsible for the odor since I had other vendors and contractors who were in my unit and had access besides Deanna Lynch, but I can say truly say that I did not have any other similar problems with any other vendors and even though my apartment was a big huge disgusting mess with dead roaches all over the floors that I was still able to get someone else to come and clean it without any of the stress or hassle that I experienced dealing with Deanna Lynch and No Mess No Stress Cleaning Services.
