First we received a call from Max Beer the owner of Maxtech Audio, he said he was on the Florida West coast and that he had an installer in Ft Lauderdale named Troy and he would be in touch to arrange a date and time for the work which was done. To begin with Troy showed up 4 hours late . He was all alone which because of the size of the Flat Panel TV ,I had to help hiim remove and hang up the TV"s. I normally would not have minded except I told him I had a hip replaced 8 weeks before and was limited as to ,how much I could help. But as I had no choice I helped him move the Tv"s around. On second thought as I look back I should have just told him to leave and called Max Beer to inform him about his situation. Max Beer told me in my conversations with him that this installer was experienced and would program all the remotes and show us the basic operating of the units. None of this was done ,because the installation were so prolonged, I had to read the instructions on mounting the sound bar on one of the new units, because he was going to install it improperly, this took about 30 minutes for him to realize that I had given him the proper instructions. The appearance of the installer looked like he had just finished a job of ditch digging. As part of the installation some drilling had to be done on the drywall, he then proceeded to sweep up ,the drywall dust, but because it was a dark-wood floor, I had to wash it before he replaced the furniture. In moving the furniture in the living room from the wall to get to the TV he slid the furniture over the wood floor and put gouges and scratches on the new wood floor. I showed it to him but I guess because he was all alone he figured he couldn't help it. By this time 61/2hours later he was running late and had to pack up and leave. Boxes, styrofoam, old mounts, were left all over the apartment for me to clean up. There was absolutely no effort to reset remote controls or instructions, The new TV installed in the Living room was left with four different remotes to operate it. In fairness the installation of the two TV's was well done. The installers email address is tbhog@live.com I was presented with a bill of $702.00 which I paid at that time, I asked him about he rebate I was supposed to get from Max Tech Audio and he said they would take care of that. I contacted Max Ber at Max Tech Audio the next day to inform him of the experience with his installer that he had referred,at that time I also expressed about the same items as written above, and sent him photographs of the floor damage and the mess left behind. To date I have not heard from him, today I called him again but have had no response. I chose to contact Max Tech Audio because of their rating on Angie's List. I felt confident that I hired a reputable and knowledgeable installer. It goes without saying that this has been a very disappointing experience.

See above This service is great and I will definitely recommend MaxTech to anyone who is having problems with their current set up or thinking about a new one. Why rack your brain trying to figure this stuff out when you can have Max do it for you correctly, quickly and professionally.

Max was on time for the appointment. The issue with the internet was quickly resolved. Programming the Harmony controller to operate he new to market combination (bluray /dvd, sound bar and radio) Phillips equipment to work with the DirectTV and TV set took considerably more time and effort as the codes were not available at the Harmony website (every button had to be entered by hand). Its now working just the way I that had hoped for.

Before Max came he kindly advised me on what center speaker to buy. He did not profit from that recommendation but offered it as the best choice for my budget. He came to our home, evaluated our needs based on our listening habits and likes...not his. He explained the changes he made and why. He further adjusted the Harmony remote so I would not accidently undo the things he had done. In the end it sounded like we had a new system. Another company had recommended over $2000 of changes to our system. Max is friendly, speaks plain English (not techeese) and thorough. It was a pleasant experience all around.

We'd called Geek Squad, who we'd used before in Tulsa, and they had told us they wouldn't be able to come for a week and a half. We called Max at around 10 am, he promised he could come the same day between 3:30 and 4:30, and he came promptly at 3:30. He also said it would be about 2 hours worth of work, but he also removed all the extraneous cables we'd hooked up in our attempts to connect the speakers like the manuals said, updated the BlueRay player, checked the CD player and balanced the sound, diagnosed a dead subwoofer and recommended a local repair company, supplied us with a needed HDMI cable, and also recommended someone for doing the attic wiring and installing of the rear-speakers. All in all, he was here for about 2 1/2 hours, charged us about $50 less than Geek Squad was quoting us, and we recommend him highly.
