You know how you get a new 100' garden hose and new nozzle and hook them up and everything works perfectly, but then after about a year you try to remove the nozzle for whatever reason and find that it's literally impossible and you end up ruining the nozzle and hose end? Turns out that most nozzles are made of zinc-based metal and the male end of the garden hose is brass and after time, the zinc corrodes into the brass and you're done. I've even called the nozzle manufacturer and their official response is: "well, you're not supposed to leave the nozzle on the hose all the time...." Really!?... Anyway, the answer is Mako Hose! Instead of getting p***** off and throwing out a perfectly good 100' hose because of the stupid nozzle, just take the hose to Mako in Royal Palm Beach, off Benoist Farm Rd, just off Southern Blvd. I went there, waited literally 30 secs for the guy to ask me what I needed, I explained the problem, he took the hose, cut off the end, invited me into the shop to watch as he pressed on a beautiful (really!) new brass fitting... all in 5 minutes!! And I had to force my $5 on him for the service... So here's a shop where all they do, day after day, year after year, is hoses and I mean HOSES: huge, 10" and larger braided, stainless-steel industrial hoses ... and the guy takes my garden hose out of the press with the new fitting on the end, looks at it and says: "Now isn't that a thing of beauty?!". This stuff is ART to these guys and THAT'S who you want to do business with!! If you're reading this review and live too far away from these guys, then too bad for you, because this community is better for having access to these guys! If you live too far away, call these guys, describe what you need and maybe you can do business with them by mail. A few years ago, I was completing a custom kitchen sink installation in my house. The nice Pfister faucet set we got fit the bill perfectly for the installation EXCEPT that one of the hoses that connects the sprayer to the main valve assembly was too short for the configuration we needed. I called Pfister and they said, essentially, too bad: it is what it is. But then I remembered Mako: I took the whole assembly to them, explained what I needed and while I waited they cut it up, customized the hoses and fittings I needed and even THEN AND THERE fabricated a make-shift testing apparatus so they could hook it up to a high-pressure hose bib to test their repair. After the 1st test, they didn't quite like the way the repair looked, so they redid it so it was completely perfect and tested to a pressure that was 10x the pressure it was going to be subjected to in my installation. I think maybe they charged me $50 or so, but that kind of service is priceless. To this day, every time I pull out that sprayer I think of those guys at Mako Hose! Obviously, I can't say enough about these guys. Deal with them and I guarantee you won't be disappointed!
