It really turned out pretty crappy. We just got the countertops in and they aren’t what we wanted, and we had a real battle with them. There is a quality issue here. It was the wrong countertop altogether, and then when they brought out the stuff that we had picked out, it was just weird and just not what we expected. They were too expensive. They didn’t answer some of phone calls. They were on time.
Description of Work: We used them to do our cabinets and stone countertops.

Everything we had ordered was part of the Martha Stewart collection of outdoor furniture. We had expected at least some decent results with her name attached to the products. Instead we received substandard merchanidise What we had had before was the white Plastic wicker table and chairs that had lasted us 9 years out in the sun in our backyard. It had finally succumbed to the heat and extreme weather and needed to be replaced. We had even bought cushions for these chairs and they too lasted the 9 years outside. We thought we were making a big step up in what we had chosen. Q
Description of Work: They sent us broken chairs for a fire pit we had ordered. We returned them and had to wait three weeks for them to pick it up, another three weeks for it to arrive at their distribution center and another two - three weeks for the credit. In the mean time we had to wait an additional 6 weeks or our diniing table, chairs and two chaise lounges to arrive. Within two-three weeks of delivery, the cushions on the chairs and the chaise lunge faded to a dull rust color. Since then they have faded to no color at all. King a pale grayish mud color.

I researched A/C pricing in this area, contacted several companies for quotes. Home Depot had the lowest pricing for the same SEER unit as all others. In addition, they gave me 12 months no interest financing. I picked HD because I felt more comfortable that they'd be around in a few years to service and repair the units, and I'm not worried that the economy might make them disappear... During the job, they arrived with two crews, ripped out the old A/C and had one unit back in within hours, saving us a night in a hotel. Not only did they remove the units, but they had to replace all the ductwork as well (it had been damaged by rodents). It wasn't completely without problems: one guy put his foot through my ceiling while working in the attic, but the company sent a drywall specialist out and the ceiling (knockdown texture) looks perfect! Since the job, I've enjoyed electric bills that are about a third less than they were last year, so we're very happy! P.S. Everybody spoke English... :-)
Description of Work: Remove all two air conditioning units outside and replace; remove and replace attic handlers and ductwork and replaced.

The situation was a disaster! The Home Depot technician that came out misread the gauges and had taken my air conditioner completely apart on the sidewalk trying to figure out what was going on! He had no idea what to do and had to get a lot of help to figure out how to fix it. It did not help that he did not speak English either.
Description of Work: One of the technicians came out to do routine maintenance on my air conditioner.

After several months of waiting and calling both Home Depot and subcontractor, I finally heard that the City of Riviera Beach would not approve the permit. I was not given the reason or if they were coming out to recite the unit. I called the main building inspector for Riviera Beach, who happens to be one of my volunteer firemen, and requested he check it out. After a time I found out the reason for them turning the permit down. At this time he told me the cost to the subcontractor was 2% of the overall cost or $142.00. They said I would have to find another place for the generator. I told them I had no other place without windows near by, or property line, unless it was next to my pool, which was out of the question. I called the subcontractor after getting a bill on my Home Depot credit card for $599.61 and asked what this amount was for. They told me that was the cost. After my explaining I was willing to pay the $50 for their inspection and even though they should have known they couldn't build on a property line, I would eat the $142.00 cost for the permit, I wanted to know what the rest of the billing was for. I requested a billing for other $407.61 from a Malissa and they have refused to give me any paperwork or bills for same. Notice their delaying the Home Depot Credit card bills to me has been long enough to produce a 21% interest on the unpaid balance. All this time I had been requesting the reasons for the discrepancy. Called the manager Rich at the local Home Depot, 561-627-9555. He said he did not control generator sales and the main person was Rick O Brien at the Home Depot @ 772-528-2741. This person said he would investigate. After a while he more or less said Tough, that s what we paid so that s what you owe. Called Customer Service at 800-677-0232 and talked to Victoria then Jennifer and they sent me to the Dispute Department. I called the Dispute Department at 800-553-3199 and at the present time the extra amount of $407.61 is in dispute. Of course they are taking their time since the interest is building up.
Description of Work: Series of events leading up to my problem with Home Depot and their sub contractor of St. Lucie County. July 23, 2007 I ordered a RTS generator to be install on my property due to my bed ridden son requiring power at all times for his special air mattress. I agreed to the $50 fee to come out and measure even if I did not get the generator. Also part of the contract was a fee for up to $500 for necessary building permits. After a few weeks or so, a so called adviser came out to measure the area needed and draw up plans for required building permit. At this time I did not know the restrictions on the placement of a propane engine driven generator. This I left up to the experts. The reason I picked the site I did was, it was close to my gas line and main a/c compressor pad, alongside my garage. Although this gentleman probably knew full well that it could not be built on a property line or close to a window, he made no mention of this and just put this down on paper. I even left the area-way clear for this pad when I had this side of the house paved with paver block so that my sons wheel chair would have access to the rear of the house. I guess they knew they were going to get their money regardless of the fact the building permit would not pass.

In the beginning, I was not very pleased. There were a lot of delays and goof ups. However, in the end, the room came out perfectly. They were very nice to deal with and once you get them motivated they kind of do a good job. I did think it was quite a lot of money, but they did quite a bit of custom work. I also think that they sub-contract out for this kind of work.
Description of Work: Home Depot had built a 14x14 enclosed patio room for us.
