I own two adjacent townhomes, one that I live in and one that I rent. The AC systems in both homes were still working, but they were more than 12 years old and were going to need replacement soon. I started looking for estimates in August 2014, planning to replace my system in October (when the installers wouldn't be as busy), and then replace the system in the rental home the following Spring. I found Gulfstream Cooling here on Angie's List, and of the contractors I contacted, they were the most responsive and least expensive. I worked with Jason Tota, and I was very impressed with his knowledge and professionalism when he came out to prepare an estimate. He explained the difference between single-stage and two-stage systems, and gave me a quote for one of each, both made by Bryant (a brand of Carrier). I chose the more expensive two-stage system and we arranged for an installation date in October. Prior to the installation, Jason let me know that he was going to substitute a more expensive Carrier system for the Bryant system I had selected because the Bryant wasn't currently available, but he wasn't going to charge any more. Jason's brother Steven did the installation, and it went flawlessly. Steven and his assistant were very professional, didn't make a mess, and cleaned up after themselves. I was very happy with the work. Gulfstream handled all the paperwork for the FPL rebate that I was entitled to, and they deducted that from the price and got reimbursed from FPL. Since I was planning to use Gulfstream to install the new system in my rental home if all went well, I had Steven look at that system while he was here so Jason could prepare an estimate. In November the old AC system in the rental home stopped working, so I contacted Gulfstream and Steven came out the next morning to fix it (Gulfstream suggested I buy their $29 service call coupon on Angie's List, which saved me $45). Steven was able to get the system running again, by replacing a part for $132 (in addition to the $29 service call). We discussed whether I should replace that system sooner than planned, and although Steven didn't push for an earlier install, he said if I decided the replace the system before the end of the year, Gulfstream would deduct the $132 I paid for the new part. After considering it for a few days, I decided the replace the second system (with a single-stage unit) in December, and it's a good thing I did, because FPL subsequently decided to reduce their rebate starting in January. The second installation went as smoothly as the first, and I haven't had any problems with either system since. And my electric bills are definitely lower, though I'll have to wait for summer to know how much we're really saving. I would not hesitate to use Gulfstream Cooling again, and I highly recommend them.

Everything was really good. They showed up quick and fix everything real quickly. It ended up being more than the $29 Big Deal cost. That would basically cover the service call and they ended up fixing more couple of items. It came to about $400 total. It was easy to schedule the service. In fact, I called the company direct and he made me aware of the $29 Deal. I was not aware of it until he told me. I was really pleased because he obviously did not have to do that since I was already calling him. They came on time. They were professional and courteous. We were happy with it. If I had to pay somebody $400, I think it is a lot, but I do not think they overcharged me.

The serviceman first came to my house on Monday, the 13th. The a/c was not blowing cold air. He found that the unit was blowing both heat and air simultaneously. He corrected the problem and the unit was working great. He stayed around for ten minutes to be sure it was operating correctly. Not 15 minutes after he left, the problem returned. When I called the repair service, they immediately made another appointment and did a thorough inspection to find the cause of the problem. They made no additional charge for this repeat service. It's now four days later and the a/c is working beautifully. I would certainly recommend Gulfstream to anyone based on their integrity, professional workmanship and dependability. Outstanding company.

Service went well. They were able to address the problem. They have worked 3 to 4 times for me and they were able to address the issue.

Technician reviewed the entire system - checked on air temp and cooling for accuracy; checked the thermostat to ensure it was set properly, drained the exterior pipe to make sure it was clear. Made sure our system was operating well and we were prepared for the summer months to come.

Absolutely remarkable job. Three individuals came removed the old equipment, and installed all new equipment. One did the demo, hauled away the old stuff and carried in the new equipment. One fellow did the work of putting all the parts in place and making connections, while the third fellow replaced a significant amount of the duct work in the garage where the air handler is located and in the terribly hot attic. They really know what they are doing, not a wasted motion they arrived at precisely the time they said they would and performed an enormous amount of work. I was shocked when late in the afternoon I was told the new system was ready to turn on. The original unit which was installed when the house was built 19 years ago was put in by butchers that did sloppy work, what a joy to see a beautiful new air handling unit with perfectly straight duct where a rusty crooked one once was. My only regret, one refrigeration line that was installed when the house was built was hooked back to the new unit. Every other eye sore that the old unit had was gone replaced with skillfully installed parts. These fellows are by far the most professional installers I have ever had the pleasure of hiring they even left my garage more tidy than they found it. I reccomend these guys as you could not ask for better service. Their price was significantly less than another contractor I got a quote from and there was no added on surprise fees at the end of the job.

They were very efficient. They came out the same day I called. He actually had to wait for me until I got there. So, he was a very nice guy. I did not pay anything. The house was under maintenance contract on the appliances so there was no fee.

I don't remember entirely (it was a year ago), but I know I was extremely pleased with how they explained everything, how professional they were, and how they worked with me to find the best solution possible. Great people!

If you are in need of a new air conditioner or repair I highly recommend Gulfstream Cooling. That is most important but if you want a more through review keep reading :) If not skip to the end. Long review -> I had a 17 year old AC Unit in a home we recently purchased, while it was working great I decided to replace it before it failed on me in the middle of a summer since it will save me on electric as well. Since it was working well I had a chance to have 4 different contractors come give me an estimate. I will tell you while they were all decent I found Jason from Gulfstream to be the most through and professional of all of them. While everyone else gave me the estimate on the spot Jason actually goes home and sends you a more detailed estimate within a day. I was thinking it was probably going to be too high but as it turns out their pricing is very fair based on my 3 other estimates. Given their price was fair and I was most confident in their abilities I went with Gulfstream and decided to actually spend a little more and get the 2 stage unit which no one else even offered. So now to the install, the technician showed up about 30 mins earlier introduced himself very polite and professional and laid down drop cloths in my house(much appreciated), Shortly there after Jason came to help him get started and answered various questions I had, he then left and another tech(Jordan) came to help with the install. They both did a very professional job, clean and from what I can tell didn't cut any corners. I saw them vacuum out the drain line etc... and kept everything neat and clean. Towards the end of the day Jason's brother Steven showed up to go over all the final details and check everything. He noticed when my AC kicks into the second stage it was very loud because its in a closet and didn't get enough airflow, so they actually came back the next day and installed a new intake vent on the side of the closet at no extra charge. I didn't event have to ask, but I am glad he did its much better! He also went over everything and made sure the AC I got was kicking into 1st and 2nd stage, at first it wasn't(thermostat issues) and frankly I may not have known the difference at first because its not obvious you need to check with a clamp meter. I truly believe many contractors would just leave and not check all the details but you can trust Gulfstream! Only time will tell with an AC but I am very happy so far! I will certainly update my review if needed. -> Conclusion I am very picky! These guys are very professional, clean and detail oriented. Their pricing is also very fair. Also if your budget allows definitely consider a 2 stage AC. While mine was a new AC I would use them for a repair without hesitation as well, I feel confident they will not overcharge and will do a great job!

Tech seemed to do a through job. Not sure if he checked the temp coming out of the vents but I didn't ask so I can't blame him for that. Added a pound of R22 and unit seems to running better.

They came by between the hours of one and three e.s.t. on Tuesday the 31st of March. I was very pleased with the technician who diagnosed my problem on my a/c system which was a capacitor that had to be replaced. Everything worked fine after he replaced the capacitor. He then did a full check of my system including the thermostat. He checked the freon and gave me report stating everything is working fine. He also gave me a guarantee. Anyone who is looking for an A/C company I would strongly recommend this company. They will not be disappointed.

It went fine. She hasn't had any problems, and everything went well.

Called them on Wednesday and service call was scheduled for next morning. Jordan called enroute. He has worked on several units we have and as usual was professional and courteous. Strongly recommend this company for responsiveness and price.

Jordan found that the drain hose was plugged. He cleaned that out, did a thorough check of the entire system, and then monitored it for some time afterward. The unit has been running fine ever since.

Did standard maintenance check and replaced analog thermostat with new digital thermostat. All went well. professional and punctual.

The work was done in a professional manner. The service provider took away the dirty filters without being asked.

We have used them before, last year for our other unit and they are still a top notch company. They responded quickly, professionally and completed job in a timely manner. Pricing was competitive. We had a problem that evening after unit was installed; they came back within a half hour after calling and was diligent to resolve the issue. I highly recommend this company, the owners are very knowledgeable in AC units, installation and are smart business men. We will continue using their company to keep our units in good working order

They scheduled the service within a good time frame. The technician identified a leak, and gave me quote for a future repair. He refilled the coolant and said that, depending on the rate in which the gas leaks, I might not even need to replace the part. Unit is working good so far :)
