Guardian Storm Protection

This was an excellent job from the beginning. Andy first met with us and showed us the different options available to protect the windows on the back and sides of the house (we already have hurricane impact windows placed by the builder on the front of the house). We reviewed impact windows, accordion shutters and hurricane mesh and he gave us his expert opinion regarding the best options. We concluded that the shutters was a better option for us. Even though this was not a cheap project it was cheaper than installing hurricane impact windows (we have a lot of large windows on the back of the house) and the quality of his shutters is top notch (we had accordion shutters at our previous house and the difference is day and night. This shutters are of a much superior quality and build, they are not bulky and also very easy to use ). He told us that the installation was going to take place in approximately 5 to 6 weeks but they were ready to install the shutters 2 weeks after we place the order. We actually had to wait for the HOA to meet to approve the project before they could do the installation and that was the only hold up. The installation was perfect and was done in one day and they were very clean and professional. We didn't have to pay a dime until the job was completed, the county permits approved and we were satisfied with the final product and installation. I can highly recommend this company without hesitations.

I would highly recommend this company. From the initial sales contact to the follow up visit each employee was very professional. I thought one of the best things about my experience was when I had a few questions concerning my job it was easy to get a hold of the owner of the company and ask him directly. This company required zero money down and no payment until the job passed inspection and I was totally satisfied. Even when the job was complete I requested one thing to be changed and the owner arranged for his team to come out and adjust it in a very timely manner. Overall an excellent experience.

It went exactly how they said it would. The guys were true professionals, arranging for permits, obtaining the panels and installing them as you'd want. They even patched up (and painted over) old holes in my walls where outdated panels were once attached. Could not ask for more.

The service I received was top notch. The sales representative showed up on time, explained their shutter product and how it compared with others, answered all of my questions, and wrote up a contract. He also handled obtaining HOA approval; all I had to do was sign the form (which he had printed off) and make out the appropriate checks. The HOA never contacted me about the application and it was approved. I also did not make a deposit, which greatly impressed me. In fact, I wasn't required to pay when they finished installing the shutters; they waited until everything was done to my satisfaction. The installation took a day and a half and the installers kept the work-site neat and clean. When I noticed a small hole in the screen material in the brand new screen enclosure after the installers had left, Guardian Storm Protection arranged and paid to have the contractor that I used to install the enclosure make the repair. I have wide sliding windows so they provided me with a hook that I can use to easily close the shutters. Everyone that I spoke with was very professional and courteous. My phone calls were answered promptly, even on a Friday when the office was closed.

We contacted the company to request a quote. They sent someone out in a timely manner to provide the estimate. A manager arrived exactly when we were told and spent a few hours with us going over the quote and explaining the difference between the products they offer vs their competitors. The quote was not as high as expected and after our meeting we felt comfortable with Guardian doing the job. Their office emailed a few permit forms for us to sign and they gave us an approximate install date. They called about a week prior to the estimated date to say they were running about a week behind due to the weather and gave us a new installation date. They showed up on the day promised and completed the job. The shutters looked great and worked extremely well. They had forgotten the panel for one small door so I called and they delivered the panel the following day. They told me the date the city inspection would take place and they said they would meet them there and there would be no need for us to have to be there. When asked about payment, they insisted no payment be made before the inspection is completed and passed by the city. We were very impressed by that. After inspection, they emailed the invoice and we sent payment. They make doing business with them very easy, they do what they say they will do. The one suggestion I have for the management is to make a follow up call after everything is completed to be sure you are satisfied with the job... this would put them over the top and above an "A" in my book. Great job!!

I can only say that this organization is as close to perfect one can get. Any concerns that I had were promptly addressed. The product itself is well designed. I would gladly recommend them to anyone.

Ryan and his team were very professional and did an excellent job. The shutters were installed on the date promised. I was appreciative that they worked directly with my homeowners association to get the approval to proceed and also with the county to get the building permit necessary. They made this a very easy process.

After doing my due diligence by researching and interviewing a number of other companies I selected Guardian to protect my home. I am extremely satisfied and recommend Guardian without hesitation. The materials they use are top of the line and the installation was performed in a most timely and professional manner. In other words, the installation was completed in a matter of hours during the time frame to which we agreed upon. I was most impressed when dealing with the owner, Andy, General Manager Brian, Operations Manager, Brett, and Office Manager, Shelley. They all took as much time as needed to listen and respond to any and all questions I had.

Workers were very efficient and work was done in a efficient way. The owner walked me around and showed me how to open and strapped them shut. And then he came back with the inspector to make sure everything was within compliance. The best was that I did not have to pay until the job was finished.

5 guys on a hot June Saturday took about 5+ hours. Noisy process, they hammer drill into each opening. Rather painless to us besides the noise. Shutters are easy to close, locks and look better than expected. Not cheap, but it is your house. They are very good quality. A well done job. The whole process permits to inspection, about a month. The county inspector questioned that all the openings on the plan were not on the house. He though he was at the wrong house. They blended in that well.

Guardian was so very professional. They worked very hard, and didn't take a penny for a deposit! We were so impressed at the level of service we received. They came exactly when they said they would, and even made a special trip to get just the right kind of supplies we needed. We wanted to find a company with quality, and we are happy we did so via Angie's List!

It went beyond excellent. If Angie's list included A+ (A-PLUS) ratings this company would score that across the board. The owner, Andy Kobosko, is one heck of a nice guy. He came out initially himself, took measurements carefully, and was very attentive when I listed certain specifics that I wanted. I accepted the fair and square price. It's possible I could have done the job with a different company for just a couple dollars less, but there was no way in the world I would have the confidence that I had in Andy and his company. We had to wait just a short while for the permit from the city, and once we got that, the very professional and courteous crew came out and did a flawless job in the installation. I was also rather impressed when they brought up their own cleaning equipment. Installing storm shutters does make somewhat of a mess, but these installers left my place cleaner than it was before they even got here. When a company is easy to communicate with and does a great job for a good price, they don't even have to spend a penny for advertising. All their customers, spread the word and that's all the advertising they need. Keep up your great work ethics, Andy, and thank you for a job very well done!

Fabulous from beginning to end. The owner is great, the crew quick and neat. We have recommended him to neighbors who bought shutters as well and are very very happy. The owner doesn't take a dime from you until project is finished and approved by county inspecter.

We interviewed many storm shutter and window companies and found they would say almost anything to get business. Andrew Kobosco, the owner of Guardian Storm Protection, came to give an estimate and I knew immediately that this man knew what he was talking about and was very clear about what he could and could not do and what solutions would work best in our home. Two of the clear distinctions between Guardian products and the others is that there are no "walk over" tracks to cause a potential accident. All tracks are in the ground and flat to the floor. Also do to the design of the shutter slats the stacks on the sides of the openings are much thinner and less obtrusive than other vendors. I have lived in Florida 22 years and have had many dealings with contractors and workmen. From start to finish this was by far the most efficient and professional company I have ever dealt with. The estimate was fair, the time frame was clear, they obtained the necessary permits and when installation day came they were here at exactly the time they said they would be. The crew that installed our shutters was pleasant, courteous, answered any and all questions and when I suggested a slight change they were on it immediately - no questions asked. When job was done they cleaned up any construction debris and left the house in immaculate condition. What a pleasure to have someone do what is expected of them and to do it professionally and without a moment of angst! The job passed inspection by a city that is known for tough inspectors with no problem at all. It is without any hesitation that I would recommend this company to anyone.

Andy is a consummate professional as is his office staff and his installers. They kept me informed of every step of the process. The installers were all extremely professional and did an excellent job both of installation and clean up.

The owner Andy arrived on time for the estimate. Of the seven estimates I received he was the only company that does not require any deposit. In fact Guardian did not ask me for any money until it passed inspection. The next business day after the city approved the permit a crew was at my house installing the shutters. The shutters are very high quality. My neighbors shutters are obtrusive. However mine fold so tightly they are almost unnoticeable. I would recommend Guardian to anyone considering shutters.

The company was a pleasure to deal with. Andy, the owner came to our home to explain everything to us. He was very professional, helpful, patient and informative from the very start until the end. The installers were experienced and did the job without any complications. Shelly, the girl in the office was helpful and did lots of paper work for us. She was always available and very pleasant. His promise of no money until your job is finished and you are satisfied is something he comes through with and he wants his customers to be happy and satisfied, which we most certainly are. Updated review 4/20/2015: This review is an update to my initial review just 11 months ago. The work performed Was very good. I called Andy a few weeks after my install with a referral to a neighbor And confirmed with him if they purchased shutters he'd take care of me with a referral fee. the neighbor did use this company to instal shutters, after a few calls where I was referred to office secretary And numerous emails over the past 11 months asking about referral. No response, no call back. No email! Finally spoke with Andy a month ago when i called with another potential neighbor to install shutters, amazing how quickly i got a ring up when leaving mesage i had a potential buyer! I got assurance from Andy he take care of reverral. Well no word, No call back, no email. Not even a thank you for either referral. The neighbor who had installed on my referral last year is concerned If this no action response is indicative of business practice, she stated "I wonder how a warranty claim might be handled?" In conclusion, I'm very disappointed with the clear avoidance of my requests to even give me a courtesy call or email response. At this time I would not even accept a referral fee, the avoidance equates to disrespect to me. Overall poor Follow-up customer Communication and not keeping your word. original review from 5/2/2014: I live in gated community and put installation team on gate pass day of installation. I was delayed greeting home to meet with installers. When I got home by around 3:00 pm entire job was completed all areas were cleaned no residue, all shutters were professionally installed with caulking on every shutter where needed. I thoroughly Inspected workmanship. Job done correctly.

I surveyed the different Hurricane Shutters providers prior to making a decision and Guardian Storm Protection by far was the best on all aspects. Andy the owner came over, surveyed the house, sat down and explained the different types of shutters available out there, what is that they do differently and provided a quote on the spot. what I was so amazed and impressed about is the fact that he was the cheapest (not by too much though) and more importantly he didn't ask for any down payment or any payment at all until all work is done and inspection is done!! when a vendor is willing to take all the risk on itself it talks a lot about their level of professionalism and commitment - that bought me on the spot! they took care of all the permits and licenses, scheduled according to my convenience, came on time, installed, cleaned and left as if nothing has transpired. this is an "A" experience, I recommend to anyone who is looking for Hurricane shutters!

Andy Kobosko, owner of the company, came and gave me a detailed explanation and estimate for the job. I decided to go with Guardian Storm Protection because Andy had been very honest and professional with me. I really did appreciate that. His company requires no deposit for the go ahead with the work. Their policy is no payment until the shutters have been installed and passed inspection by the city. That is a rare practice in South Florida. I am very pleased with the end product. The shutters are easy to close. I have already reccommended Guardian Storm Protection to a friend of mine.

Very professional throughout whole process. They took care of everything, including sending our HOA the information needed for the shutters. They arrived on time, worked quickly and cleaned up after themselves. I definitely recommend them.

All paperwork for permits correctly completed. Showed up exactly on schedule. Shutters installed promptly and neatly with all debris removed. Instructed on their use and maintenance prior to leaving.
