Guardian Storm Protection

We called, Andy came right out to do an estimate. The price was great and the references outstanding. Guardian took care of all HOA communications, permit paperwork, and when all was ready we scheduled an installation date. They were installed exactly as indicated on our contract, including all touch up work. The installers were professional, cleaned their work space, answered all questions. It passed inspection (which was the next day). I couldn't have asked for a better experience. Professionalism #1!

After reading the reviews on Angie's list, I contacted five companies and ended up with three quotes for accordian hurricane shutters. The owner Andy came out to discuss our options, measured up and gave us a quote there and then. I felt that Andy was more thorough than the other people who came out, he explained our options in great detail, and addressed our concerns about aesthetics. His quote was also cheaper than the other two. A bit factor in deciding who to go with was their "payment guarantee" - no money upfront, and pay only when the job is done, the shutters are inspected, and you're happy with the job....just great. The installation went very smoothly - Kevin was very professional, friendly and informative. I can't say enough good things about Guardian - I would definately use them again, and would certainly recommend them to my friends.

From start to finish the process was stressless,. The product is top-notch & the service excellent. We were not asked to pay anything until the job was completed and we were satisfied. A rarity!

I had eight windows, varying sizes that did not have accordian shutters on them. When I received the wind mitigation report from my insurance company, there was one window that did not meet the necessary standards and the other seven all had the plastic panels which were time consuming to install. The rest of the house already had accordian shutters. I went on Angie's list and got recommendations and then proceeded to call Guardian Storm Protection. My plan was to meet with representatives of the three companies that I chose and then proceed from there. I set up an appointment with Guardian Storm Protection first and I was so impressed with the price and the professionalism that I did not even call the other two companies. The shutters were installed, I had another wind mitigation inspection and my insurance premium reflects the fact that all the windows are now covered.

The owner, Andy, came on time to measure our windows and give us the price for the work. A few weeks later his workers arrived promptly and completed the job in 2 days. Everyone was pleasant and professional. We're very pleased with the shutters.

I contacted Guardian Storm Protection after reading the reviews on Angie's list. My call was returned promptly by Andy, the owner. We made an appointment and Andy came out and gave me an estimate. We had this meeting February 7, 2012. I had guests coming to Florida throughout the month of March but I had a window in the calendar that fit Guardian's schedule and we agreed to proceed. Andy was very informative and had a good grasp on the aesthetics concerns. The view looking out of our home onto the pool area. This view was important to keep as pleasing to the eye as possible because the home is built around the pool as it's showcase. Andy understood and his crew did an excellent job keeping this in mind. Andy then left town for a week but with his way of payment ( no money until the job is complete and the customer is satisfied) I didn't stress much but I did have a few items on my list as "incomplete". Andy and I went around the house and either he fixed it on the spot or three days later his crew stopped by for an hour and completed the job. One of the crew accidentally stepped on a sprinkler pvc pipe in a shrub bed and broke the pipe. I showed Andy and he went to Home Depot and returned with the pipe and materials to make the repair. This job was a lot of money but the size of my sliders and by having my screened-in porch protected by shutters it was a fairly large job. I would recommend Guardian and the entire team on their professional approach and solid work ethic.

Andy came for an initial visit, measured the window dimensions, and educated me on the various types of hurricane protection, and features to look for when getting additional bids. Andy had a high end product, and was not the lowest price bidder. However, I opted for the features he offered, and signed a contract. Andy offers a great value proposition -- he does not require a deposit, nor any payment until the job is completed to the customer's complete satisfaction. This proved particularly valuable for me, since 1) I had a time deadline for completion, and 2) a county construction inspection needed to be passed. Guardian would not take payment until the inspection passed. The work was completed on time, and the inspection was scheduled. To my surprise, the inspector said that the installation failed to pass inspection because the lower track was attached to a mounting rail with self-tapping screws rather than nuts and bolts. I immediately called Guardian and told them of the results. After considering options, they replaced both the lower track and the mounting rail. The second mounting rail was heavier guage than the first, and could accept nuts and bolts. The inspector came out again, and the installation passed. There was no extra charge for the heavier guage rail. After passing inspection, I received an invoice and paid the bill. I was told that this problem occurred because the ceiling to floor height of my lanai varied by more than 1-1/4 inches over the 14ft length. This was much more than normal, and was not detected during the initial measurements. Due to the difference, the lower track could not be mounted directly to the floor, and the installer failed to note that for this situation, self tapping screws were not included on the installation drawings. Nonetheless, the problem was corrected rapidly and completely to my satisfaction.

Andy Kobosko, the owner, met with me on time and thoroughly explained and demonstrated his product. There was no high pressure sales pitch and he handled all permits. The shutters were delivered as promised and installed by a friendly, helpful crew.

The owner Andy from Guardian Storm Protection was one of three estimates that I obtained for myself and my neighbors. Andy obtained the permits and the HOA approval as promised. The installation for myself took half a day, then on that same day they installed one of my neighbors shutters. The following day they installed a third neighbors shutters. Once the installation was completed he set up an inspection which went well. The inspector also stated that the company did a nice job with the instalation. And I would use Guardian storm protection again.

I got their name through Angie’s List. I spent $5000 for their services. There was nothing about them that I didn’t like. They were great. When I contracted the job, I picked up six companies in the area that had A-ratings and got estimates from all six of them. There was one guy lower than Guardian Storm Protection, but wasn’t significant. Guardian Storm Protection had a really good price and they were very informative. They did exactly what they said they would do. I was under a time pressure because I worked in a shift and I had to go back to work. I was going to leave and when I go, I go for 4 months. So, I needed the job done before I left. There were time constraints because by the time I got around hiring the guy, I put him on a tight schedule too, but he was just perfect. There is nothing bad that I can say about him. He was great and that is the highest recommendation. I would give him the best grade. I told him upfront that I would put his name one way or another if he did a lousy job. So, he said that was good. His price was good. I would recommend him to anybody. I am willing to do anything that would help his reputation.

We had several bids. Guardian was the most comprehensive and best value. They took care of EVERYTHING, including filing with the Home Owner's Association. It was started and completed on time. I could not be happier with the job.

This is the first experience that I have with them and I have just one complaint with them. They communicated online which is fine and we emailed as well. The work itself was fabulous and their timing and everything. It took a while to get a work permit and I didn’t know that they had actually filed for the permit. It’s just that they didn’t let me know at one point about this. So I just had to email them and check. It was my fault for not following it up. They did an excellent job. I would recommend them to the others. I got three other quotes and these guys were the cheapest. They were punctual and in fact they were there early. I will use their services again in the future.

I called Andy for an estimate to construct and install hurricane shutters. Andy responded promptly to a request for an estimate. He explained why his brand of shutter was superior to the shutters we had recently installed on an adjacent unit. Andy does not require any payment up front. You only pay when the job is done to your satisfaction. Given the problems I had with the other installer (Pioneer), this was a significant advantage. The work was to be done in early June but didn't get completed until July. The installation was done correctly and the product seems superior to the ones installed on the adjacent unit. In addition, for no extra charge, Andy improved the shutters on the adjacent unit by adding retainer straps, and cutting down and relnstalling an incorrectly installed shutter. He did a great job and I have recommended him to others.

They did a good job and I am pleased with their work.

After getting 3 other estimates for hurricane shutters, we chose Guardian. The owner, Andy, was a delight to work with. He spent a great deal of time explaining the mechanisms of hurricane shutters and how to distinguish a good shutter installation from an inferior one. His price was extremely fair since we have 17 windows, three of which are large sliding doors. His workers were extremely professional, punctual, and cleaned up everything after the installation was complete. Andy also offered to haul away our old hurricane panels that reside in the garage. He came back both during the installation and afterwards to show us how the shutters work. He found a small area that he felt needed more caulking and is sending his crew back to fill. He will also come once a year to inspect all the shutters at no charge to us. I cannot recommend Guardian highly enough. Save yourself the trouble of getting other estimates and just call Guardian. Andy is a true professional in every sense of the word and has a high work ethic that is rare these days. His enthusiasm for his work and his care of all details is exceptional.

They did not take any monies up front and only cashed check after shutters passed inspection. everything went smooth. A palm tree got damaged during install (Andy told my wife about the damage, neither one of us had noticed it). Andy came and replaced the same by himself - fantastic

Andy (the owner) came to our home bringing samples of the shutters. He described his services in detail and was extremely knowledgeable and professional. His prices was higher than his competitors but we chose him because 1) he had a large inventory and could get the shutters installed within 10 days 2) he said that no down payment was due since he did not charge the customer until the job was done (which meant he was confident about the quality of his work and the satisfaction of his customers) and 3) he had excellent reviews on Angie's List and a solid rating from the BBB. We are happy with the results and we are recommending this company to our friends.

Estimate was quick and easy. Customer service was efficient and friendly. Permitting was included.Installation happened on the day promised. Workmanship and installation completed to the highest quality. Customer acceptance was just as promised. No payment until job complete. Great family run firm that trades on reputation.

Andrew is the owner of the company and he is wonderful to work with. Honest, reputable, near our home etc. His installation team is also extremely nice, very good installers. After they completed the work we walked around to each window, we got lessons on how to and they were extremely sensitive to the need of cleaning up the metal shards because of our dogs. They were very kind and considerate. Shelly runs the office and she's wonderful to work with too. We've been extremely pleased with the job Guardian Shutters has performed at our home. We also had a need for them to return to attend to something and without hesitation they were there and took care of our small need.

Wonderful experience start to finish. I am new to South Florida and had not yet gone through the process of installing storm shutters. When I called Guardian they were able to schedule a consult directly without having a "sales person" contact me to set up an appointment. Andrew Kobosko (the company's owner) came out to my house and did the measurements as well as educated me on the product and process. It was really nice not to be "sold" or pressured into a product, instead he took the education approach and that made my decision easy. The work was completed when promised and the workers that came to my home were very professional and nice. Andrew showed up the next day to inspect the work and to make sure that I was completely satisfied with the job. The shutters that were installed not only offer protection but also added value to my home. It was a pleasure working with this company and if I buy another home in South Florida I would definitely use them again.

I called the company to request an estimate for hurricane shutters and was given a date when an agent would come. Andy the agent, who is the owner, showed up at the specified date and time. I explained what I wanted and he proceded to take measurements of the various openings, In conclusion he provided an estimate on the spot. His price was the same as that of another contractor who had previously done work for me and who Andy indicated had not done a good job both in fabrication and installation. Andy asked me if a shutter company had done the job and when I answered that a window contractor had done it he said "you never hire a window installed for hurricane shutters". What impressed me the most is that Andy's policy is that when you sign a contract with him there are no downpayments required. And furthermore, you don't give him a penny until the job is completed and you are fully satisfied. An incredible policy considering the numerous unscrupulous contractor that take sizeable downpayments and disappear into the night. The shutters were of outstanding quality and were installed by skilled professionals. I strongly recommend Guardian to anyone looking for quality hurricane shutters.

Received a call back next working day with plan for visit/estimate within the week. Andy was friendly, honest, comfortable; very quick and thorough in review of the homestead and what was needed, including securing a permit to install the shutters. The date was set; crew arrived on time and finished quickly. Beautiful job, perfect. Even offered to paint areas where the older shutters panels had been removed. Andy followed up with phone call for feedback and gain offered to come out and paint outside areas where panels were removed. Painting wasn't necessary because of anything intallers did; in fact was above and beyond because of removal of the previous panels. Inspector came out after the shutters were installed and passing inspection was a breeze. Note, the guy who did the inspection was very impressed with the job done and very impressed with the price and my being able to find a company that was honest and dependable. Thank you!!!

Their price was very competitive, they applied for the building permit and worked alll the details concerning the permits and inspections. No up front money was needed. The job was only paid for after completion and final inspection. The crew showed up on time. They were extremely professional, left the jobsite clean and neat. All materials were available and staged,,,,,,no second trip was needed. The entire job was completed in one day. I am delighted with the job and performance.
