Overall the experince was stress free.

My experience with Guardian Storm Protection was fantastic from beginning to end! Andy,the owner,couldn't be a nicer person to deal with. I received a very competative quote,the work was completed in a timely manner(quite a novel concept for South Florida!.) The quality of their shutters is excellent and their attention to detail was exemplary! I'd also like to mention Shelly,who works in the office and answers the phone,is a gem! I'm greatful to Angie's List for connecting me with Guardian and I highly recommend their services.

We called and Andy came out within the week. Based our viewing of Angie's List we made the decision to go with Guardian. We had gotten estimates before that were higher. Told us it would be 6-7 weeks and we got installed 2 days before Isaac hit!!! No worries for us! Tamarac came and inspected today on the permit and was clear. Andy came this evening and we paid him. He didn't want a deposit or to be paid until the permit was cleared by the City of Tamarac. WOW, now this just doesn't happen very often. We could not be any happier.

Guardian Shutters was fantastic. One nice thing was he did not require a penny upfront. He just came out, did the measurements, did the installation, and then collected the payment. That is pretty rare today, everybody wants a deposit. He was right on time and did a great job.

The owner of the company, Andy Kobosco, met with my wife and I at our home on 5/31/2012. He was about one-half hour behind schedule, but had his office call to let us know he would be a bit late. Andy explained the differences between various grades of accordion shutters and explained why the type of shutters his company installs were superior to other types. He measured the windows and doors on our house and sat down with us to prepare an estimate. When we agreed that his price was fair for the work he had outlined, we asked when he would be able to install the shutters. Andy estimated that the shutters would be installed mid-August. We asked him for some time to think it over, and he said we should take our time and be comfortable with our decision. We called his office the next day and agreed to have his company install the shutters. Andy's company obtained the building permit for us, co-ordinated all paperwork with our HOA and obtained their approval, and installed the shutters on 7/31/2012, about two weeks earlier than originally estimated. Since we were out of town during the installation period, we asked if, after the building inspector completed the final inspection, the shutters could be closed and the keys mailed to us. Guardian Storm Protection arranged the final building inspection, obtained the report, and mailed all papers and keys to us while we were out of town at no charge, even though they had to perform an additional service call to close the shutters after the bulding inspector completed his work. If you need storm shutters installed and don't call Andy, you're making a big mistake.

This is an addendum to a previous review that I submitted a month or so ago. I'd lost my hurricane shutter insurance credit in a re-inspection by Citizen's wind insurance, & needed to install shutters on my front door & a new window to get it back. Guardian was very helpful with this. I started the process but after I thought I was done & submitted my first review, I ran into a plethora of complications & problems, none of them instigated by or involving Guardian--they all involved confusion over exactly what Citizen's would accept & difficulty getting information I needed from them, & the permitting process (even though I was installing only a couple of extra shutters on a home that had already been shuttered, I learned almost too late I needed to pull a new permit). Although all the problems I encountered were none of Guardian's business, & they had already sold me the shutters, they took a huge amount of time and effort, endured I don't know how many phone calls from me, & helped me get solutions to all my problems. Andy, the owner, even called my insurance company & battled with them on my behalf over an inconsistency in information they were giving me about shutter quality. The end result was that I had to hire Guardian to come out & do a little extra work. Not only did they come out promptly & do it but they charged me a rate that was much more than fair. I would definitely recommend them, and if I ever buy another house without shutters I will use them again. They obviously value their customers and don't forget them once they get their payment.

We received an estimate of installation of the accordion hurricane shutters on February 28, 2012 from Andy, the company's owner. No deposit or payment was due until the shutters passed City Inspection. The installation was complete and passed City inspection (first time) on May 17th. Most of the length of time between contract signing and completion was due to HOA and City permit approval time. The installation was performed on the day agreed upon and the work appears to have been done well with all of our requests met. The installers themselves arrived when expected, performed quickly and professionally. I was given two keys for each shutter (all keys work on all shutters) and shown how to close them, lock them, and maintain them with the proper lubricant. If requested, Guardian will perform recommended annual maintenance for an additional fee. I was very pleased with the entire process and results and recommend the company for this type of work.

Being new to Florida, we spoke with a number of companies about having hurricane shutters installed. then the owner of Guardian Storm Protection, Andy Kobosco came and immediately we knew that this was a man who cared about his work and took great pride in what he does. He took very precise measurements, explained everything to us in detail and gave us a great price.On the day of the installation his workers were punctual, neat, fast and perfect and Andy himself came during the day to make certain that all was being done correctly and to be sure that we were satisfied. The next day Andy came with the city inspector to make sure the inspection was fine.It's funny but people are generally so quick to find fault but I can not find one thing to fault with Guardian Storm Protection nor with its very caring owner, Andy Kobosco. I wish there was a rating higher than an "A"!

Overall, this was as painless a process as could be hoped for.

Andy was prompt for the estimate appointment, walked the site and provided me with an estimate to perform the work. Since this was my third attempt to have the accordians installed (2 other shutter companies took my down payment and did not complete the work). Andy said that he would provide the bill at the end of the job. Workers arrived early, started working immediately, very cordial, made any modifications to create ease of use (handles on the inside of two of the units on the sliders). Andy was available for the city inspection and was true to his word about making sure the customer is satisfied. He is all about protecting the home.

I chose this company because they were only one who kept their appointment. This company was very good. I now have nice hurricaine shutters. Their service and communication was also very good. They took the time to show me how to properly use the shutters. Their prices were also reasonable. I recommend them.

Overall it was an excellent experience and I would definitely recommend this company.

I recently had my existing, 1994 non-code conforming, hurricane panels replaced with accordion shutters. I had 3 quotes, one was much higher than the other two. Guardian being one of the lower of the two quotes was selected to be my contractor based on several factors: Price, locally owned small business, service and quality of product. I used Angie's List as my starting point. I contracted, the owner, Andy, who came out to look at my home a quote a price. While he was there he made several suggestion to improve what I had initially scoped for the work. I had requested a quote for installing accordion shutters on the French and Cabana Doors in my lanai/pool area as well as the other doors and windows on my home. Andy pointed out that installing accordion shutters on the French and Cabana Doors would make the lanai ceiling (which is under the roof structure) the weak point for wind pressures. He suggested enclosing the whole lanai, eliminating the exposed ceiling/roof and creating an enclosed storage area for outside furnishings, grill and plants, etc. during a storm. He also suggested recessed tracks for the shutters in the lanai/pool deck and at front door to eliminate tripping hazards and provide a more finished look. His installers showed up as scheduled and were in and out leaving a quality job behind. Andy followed up with a quality control inspection, providing caps for the recessed tracks and window tracks after the Building Inspection sign off. Guardian didn't require any upfront money and payment was due upon final code inspection and my satisfaction. I actually enjoyed writing the check for the completed work. Andy did what he said he would do and more. At the time of the install I had another contractor performing work on my screen enclosure. Their company also installs hurricane shutters. The workers were impressed by the quality of the work and the recessed tracks which they had not seen before.

Everything was done exactly as I asked for it. Communication was good and I would recommend this company to anyone.

It went very well. He would not take any money at all until the final inspection after the installation . The permit he was able to get immediately, and installed the shutters exactly when he said he would. His staff was friendly and very skilled and they got the job done on time. In fact, his foreman helped me with some problem I was having with other windows not in his scope. I am a newbie to Florida and dealing with contractors is hazardous for sure, but with such people of great CHARACTER AND COMPETENCE like Guardian, THIS WAS A WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE. . I would highly recommend them!

The crew was professional and worked hard from 9 until 5.Cleaned up after themselves very well.Explained the operation of the shutters and the inspection process.Very happy with their service.

Overall, a very good experience. After my initial call, the company came out right away and took measurements. They were attentive to our particular needs, gave good recommendations, and they adjusted to our requirements. The preliminary organization of the project with issues such as permits and arranging dates for the work went smoothly. We had a time limit due to our travel. The company promised the work would be done by a certain date. They kept their word and the project was completed exactly when they said it would. The crew that did the work was serious and knew what they were doing, and they got the job done without any hassles. The quality of the shutters are excellent and the house looks great. I recommend this company without any reservation.

I already have shutters but needed to add some for my front door to retain my insurance shutter credit. Guardian has a 5-window limit for installation services, and is actually a shutter installation company (ie, does not norrmally sell shutters for self-installation) but they were very good about just selling me the materials. This worked out well for me--I preferred to install them myself anyway to save the installation charge. Shelly was very polite & professional and put up with a lot of phone calls & questions from me. Once I placed the order I had to wait only two days to pick them up. The price was very in-line with Home Depot's shutter prices, and I couldn't tell from my online research whether Home Depot's are Miami-Dade-approved (this information might be online & I just didn't see it). Guardian also showed me where the stamp is on the shutters & gave me several pages of literature to prove to the insurance inspectors that the shutters conform to Miami-Dade building codes. Again, they didn't perform a service directly, but they were very accommodating in addressing my needs, which weren't part of their normal course of business.

There is not much toad to the above. The whole process was a on schedule and as promised from initial meeting until completion of job. Price was as agreed upon., The whole process was easy and efficient.

After reading a few reviews on Angie's List, I called Guardian Storm Protection to make an appt. for an estimate. Within two days, Andy came out to my house for the estimate. He was early for his appt., and had already measured my windows before ringing my doorbell. He went over the quality of the shutters, the removal and the filling of holes from my old shutter tracks, the estimated day of installation, what to expect the day of installation, the permit, the guarantee, the contract, and the price. His price, quality, and guarantee was far the best out of the three estimates I had obtained. Andy was the only one to tell me "I don't get paid until you're happy", which meant no money up front. The other two estimates I had obtained wanted 50% up front once the contract was signed. His crew came out on 4/11/12, and removed my old tracks, patched the holes, and installed the new tracks and accordion shutters. I even had three other small holes in the wall near a window from a previous planter that they caulked as well...thank you! When I got home from work that afternoon, everything was just perfect. The crew cleaned up so well, there were no traces of anything anywhere. The product is superior in that Andy gives a 10yr guarantee, and he is the only one to have felt tracks which makes closure of the shutters a breeze; they just glide on the track. Since I was not home for the installation, I called and asked if Andy could come out for a demo. He came out today, 4/24/12, and showed me how they closed, along with a couple of key point suggestions, and said "any questions, just call me." While he was here, he also picked up my old shutters to donate. I can't say enough about Andy and Guardian Storm Protection, except thank you for a job superbly done! His professionalism, courtesy, and knowledge is remarkable. I would most definitely highly recommend GUARDIAN STORM PROTECTION!!!!

Andy Kobosko was on time for our appointment, he gave us a very detailed estimate and explained how his product differed from the competition. Gardian Storm Protection took care of pulling permits and asisted me in obtaining HOA approval. The work was done at a mutually agreed date. The installers were well briefed of the job and the accordion shutters were installed per our contract. Gardian followed up with the inspector and resolved a minor problem without my involvement. I would recommend Gardian Storm Protection to my friends.

This was a lot of work and we are very satisfied with the outcome plus the crew's professionalism and work ethic. They were on time and went right to work and never got in our way. The supervisor and his crew had a positive attitude and answered every question we had. The price was the best out of many estimates we got. Not only was the price the best but we had a feeling from talking with Andy he was the best and was giving us the best deal. Andy came out to give us an estimate very quickly and once we decided to go with Guardian we did not have to do another thing. They submitted the application to our condo association, got the permit, and arranged the installation time around our schedule. The installers got the job done, cleaned up, and showed us how to operate the shutters within 3 hours. We are very happy with the results.
