Description of Work: moving and packing. Everything was wrong. The movers were rude, arrived late - I had a flight to catch, they laughed in my face. One of the guys had obviously never done this before - he spent such a long time wrapping and taping my plastic dishes and plastic glasses - total waste of time - it was just a nightmare. they arrived at 10am instead of 8am - my flight was at 3pm - there were 3 of them and they were useless - so slow and inexperienced. I had to leave to go to the airport - they said they would finish it offf- my neighbor told me there was so much stuff left on the lawn for the trash. then I got an email to tell me it was going to be three times the price of the quote

+ -1 moreAll the good things I have to say are about the local firm we contracted with. United was actually pretty bad. The driver, for whatever reason, did not have a cell phone therefore no one could get a hold of him to know where he was at any time including the company. That was one issue. The second being they did not adhere to the standards I was sold on for protecting and packing my stuff in the truck. They were supposed to shrink wrap furniture and protect everything from damage which they did not do. What ended up happening is they ended up breaking a piece of wooden furniture and damaging two of my sofas. They also lost a piece to one of my appliances. Because I bought insurance I was covered but I still had to pay the deductible. They could not fix one of the sofas back to its original condition so they ended up giving me an allowance that kind of negated the deductible. The bottom line is I was really unhappy with the whole experience.
Description of Work: We used them to move from one state to another. They are a national firm but we contacted them through a local company in Maryland. They moved a townhouse; we packed everything.

+ -1 moreTHEY WERE A VERY ORGANIZED COMPANY. THEY TOOK VERY GOOD CARE OF OUR PERSONAL BELONGINGS. THEY WORKED AT A FAST PACE, BUT WERE STILL CONCERNED WITH PROTECTING OUR THINGS. THEY ARE A VERY IMPRESSIVE COMPANY.
Description of Work: THEY PACKED OUR PERSONAL BELONGINGS, MOVED US, AND THEN THEY UNPACKED OUR THINGS.
