Equity Flooring

Description of Work: Equity Flooring was recommended to me and I was accepted their quote to install approximately 1500 sq feet of engineered hardwood and 500 sq feet of carpet. After nearly one month, they had mproperly installed about 40 square feet of flooring, after totally poor preparation and no concern for my furniture. Initial "crew" nailed down flooring that explicitly (in Armstrong instructions) was to be glued or floated. Absconded with approximately $7000 in payments and wasted another $1000 of materials. Second crew of workers walked off the job apparently due to discontent with their boss not paying them, after tearing up the initial mistakes and proceeding to make their own, again nailing flooring that was to be glued. To date I still have not been repaid, only empty promises following long periods of no communication with me or my contractor. The owner of the company evidently has a second home in Florida where he resides much of the time, a situation that puts the customer in the ridiculous position of describing via telephone or email how his employees are failing to perform. Their ineptitude cost me an entire month of delay in my overall home renovation, and their taking of my money was not only unethical, but put me over-budget
