Very disappointed in Big Dog Fence. I was referred to them by a family member and gave them a call even though they are 45 minutes to an hour away from my house. I decided to hire them without getting estimates from any companies closer to me. I'm assuming the distance between us caused the lack of care. I wasn't living in the house at the time so I can't speak on the punctuality of the installers but I'm certain I got the bottom of the barrel for several reasons. When they set the poles, they poured dry concrete mix in the holes and said the rain would eventually harden it. The actual chain link was installed the next day, having no water whatsoever added to the dry mix. It was installed and tightened on loose poles. I was asked if I wanted it even with the ground or level across the top. I didn't know having it level across the top would leave me with holes nearly a foot at the bottom throughout. I purchased this fence for my dogs and obviously that wouldn't work so I filled them with rock and dirt. The installers ran out of top rails so they had to pull one or two off my existing fence leaving it loose. Upon completion, Alan called a took off $10 or $20 instead of having the installer come back and finish the job. The biggest problem, however, was and still is the gate. I didn't move in for another couple months but almost immediately started having issues. The installer even told me at completion he had never done a gate like mine before and had several parts he wasn't sure about. There are several open tubes on the gate that catch the chain link and pull it apart. After maybe a year or less of dealing with it and trying to patch it myself, I called Big Dog out for repairs. A different installer came and said it was on completely wrong. He replaced part of the chain link but apparently didn't fix the original issue. Now, a little over two years of use, the gate has multiple holes in it from catching on the frame. We have to swing it out to try and avoid doing any more damage. I called Big Dog once again when my husky fit through the holes and got out. I sent over pictures of the damage and at that point I was informed that that is basically the nature of rolling gates unless you are real careful not to go out of square when opening or closing. I was never told we would have problems or offered any other option for it. So basically, I was knowingly sold a product that Big Dog knew we would have problems with. Now two years after the fact I am past the warranty period and am expected to pay $250 if I want my gate repaired, although I'm sure it will just happen again since it's a defective product. Me being a contractor myself, if I run out of material I have to make another trip to finish the job, whether the customer is 5 minutes or two hours away from me. I would never give them money off because I didn't want to make the drive to finish my job. My store also would not sell a product that we knew would give us problems because we stand behind our products. If we have a job go bad, we replace it and then throw the product out of our store if they don't warranty it. Our reputation is too important to sell poor quality materials. We also warranty our work for life because we don't knowingly sell products that we expect to fail after a year of use. Ultimately, I don't expect Big Dog to fix my issues because it will just be another temporary solution. I will probably end up replacing the gate myself with something that won't fail so quickly.

Great company. The company had to do some extras to get the permit, because I didn't have the survey needed. The old fence was removed and the new one installed in hours. Alan and Mitch, in the office, are professional, helpful, and easy to work with. I would highly recommend using this company.

I would like to say that Big Dog Fence is one of the best companies that I had the pleasure as a homeowner to work with. They worked quickly and did an amazing job, and we are extremely satisfied with our new fence. The old fence was removed and the new fence was completely installed within 2 days. If we had any questions, Alan was prompt to return our call and explain everything to us again. I would highly recommend Big Dog Fencing.

The salesman, Bob, returned my call promptly and arrived on time for our appointment. His quote and drawing reflected exactly what we discussed. The time for the scheduling of the job was reasonable. However, the installers did not follow the salesman's drawing and installed one gate improperly. I contacted the scheduler, Alan, to discuss the problem and he didn't seem to understand the problem at first and seemed agitated until he understood the problem and that as a favor to make up for the problem, they would fix one of my older gates that was upside down (they were the installing company, but none of us knows how it got upside down). He told me the installers would be there on a Thursday morning to correct the problem, so in the afternoon, I text messaged Alan to see how the correction went. He responded that the workers were really busy that day and they'd be there the next day instead. It was frustrating because I was dropping my dogs off elsewhere so they would not be upset by the activity outside. The next day the workers came and did a shortcut, terrible job of fixing their error. It looked ridiculous. At that time, I also discovered that the other gate they installed did not latch properly. I texted Alan about these problems and he promised to call me back in a half hour. He did not call, so after two and a half hours, I called him and he apologized and said they would be out to correct all of these problems the next Monday. Everything was corrected on their third trip to my house. Alan promised he'd send a invoice showing paid once he received my payment. I never received that invoice.

I requested an estimate, and Bob came out, looked at the fence gate and support posts. He had to have a gate custom made to fit the space and noted that two new support posts would also be installed. Within a week the gate was in and the installation scheduled. The day of the installation Deon called indicating that the installer was ill and would come the next day. He did and was right on time. The gate looks great and works well. There were no additional costs above the estimate. A follow-up call was made to see how the service went - very professional communications at all times.

Great. I thought they were going to call on a certain day to schedule a repair but when I got home that day the repair guy was at my house finishing up the repair. He had found an additional problem (very small) and repaired it also all for the original quote. So easiest repair job ever!

Once they got to work they did a very good job. They brought a quite a few men and went to work and got it done in one day which was good for me. The only problem I had with them, I had an appointment with them to start work and they showed up like 3 o'clock and there was a storm coming in and he wanted to go to work which I prevented him from doing because I needed it done in one day so that the property was not left unprotected. So the next day they showed up with the whole crew, got here early and did a good job.

See above. No problems, started early and completed the project without any issues. Fence looks great.

They came out to see the project. We had spoken on the phone and I had let them know what I was looking for. When he came to see it, he had brochures and samples of the available options with him. I received quotes for 3 different options that very same evening. I (of course) picked the one that was not available locally and had to be special ordered. I was told it would be 3-6 weeks. 10 days later I got a call to say that they could install in two days time. They arrived as promised, worked extremely hard for 2 days and finished the job as promised. There was a minor issue where the gap under the boards In one are was large enough for our small dog to get through. I called and the matter was resolved by the next morning.They did everything they said they would and even went beyond. They removed all the old fencing material and even took a small amount of old debris which was on the property. Everyone I dealt with was polite, considerate and hard working. I would recommend them unconditionally. Keep in mind that the expense of the project was my choice, I was given more economic options and chose to go with a more expensive product.

My husband and I wanted a vinyl privacy fence for us and our dogs. It's about 300 feet of fencing that we needed. We got several estimates before choosing Lanier. They weren't the cheapest, but they were comparable to the others. We chose them, because we really liked Alan's professionalism and how he explained the process that they use. When the installers came to do the job, certain details weren't communicated to them, but it was fine. We talked to them about it. They were very experienced and addressed our requests without a problem. In the end, the fence came out great! Our backyard is a slight hill, and they made it look so nice. And the features he mentioned, like the tension wire on the bottom of the chain link section were so important. One of the dogs tried to dig under the fence a week later, but the chain link didn't bend (because of the tension wire), and he gave up. Lanier also threw in some concrete buried in front of the gates in case they tried to dig and escape there. Overall, we definitely recommend them.

I received an estimate from Lanier Fence after having a very bad experience with Tampa Fence. Alan was very personable and honest, and spent an hour with us reviewing the job and answering all of our questions. His quote was a little higher than another contractor who we felt was equally as honest and professional, so we went with the other guy. But I would have absolutely no problem doing business with Lanier Fence. If we had gone with Lanier I fully believe that we would have ended up with a quality honest installation.

Excellent. Two installers worked on this project, and it took them about 2 1/2 days to complete the work. The fence looks great ... they did a good job leveling the fence, which wasn't always easy since our property (approx. 1/4 acre) has a number of dips/valleys in the yard. Workers arrived early each morning and worked until late afternoon -- they were very unobtrusive, and kept the work area cleaned up. The sales rep was very low key ... didn't try to pressure us into making a decision ... he arrived on time, answered all of our questions, and obviously knew what he was talking about. He gave us a very good price, and the company was able to start (and complete) the install the following week. We are very satisfied with the price and with the quality of the product and work performed, and would recommend this company to anyone looking to have a fence installed.
