First, their two young technicians entered my 83-year-old mother's home with NO MASKS ON! So they're going from house to house possibly spreading COVID. The technicians were also rude and pushy, insisting that the $69 vent cleaning would now be about $200 because the (6-month-old) dryer installed by Best Buy was a fire hazard. They tried telling me that Best Buy used the wrong parts for the installation. I told them no thank you because the installation was under warranty and we would have Best Buy come back. That's when the rudeness began, and then they did the fastest vent cleaning I have ever seen. The final words were another warning not to use the new dryer until all the work they wanted to do was done. So Best Buy came back and was able to prove to me that Imperial had not even properly cleaned the vent. And the Best Buy technician said the fire hazard warning was ridiculous. He recommended a $10 flex tube for a better connection. Their final report said "dryer vent needs cleaning." My mother disputed the credit card charge and Imperial agreed to come back. I called to tell them we did not want the same crew coming back because they lied, were rude, didn't do the job properly and did not wear masks. The lady I spoke with said that was the only crew they had! She was argumentative too, so we cancelled the appointment. I wasn't going to argue with the same rude technicians about whether they did their job properly -- as if they would admit any error! Very sad because we had used imperial befores, but never again. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. They will offer you a great deal on a vent cleaning, and once they're in your home, they'll lie and pressure you into buying a bunch of stuff you don't need. The fact that their technicians don't even wear masks in people's houses tells you a lot about their attitude and sense of responsibility to their customers.

I was quoted $69 for a dryer vent cleaning. My total bill was $439! I was told a new rebuild of the exhaust was necessary for $290. 8 vents on the roof needed sealing @$10 each. A few days later a roof specialist (with excellent ratings) stated that the vents were either poorly done or not done. I wrote a criticism to the Better Business Bureau. I got a reply from the Imperial company promising a refund of $80. They seemed very unhappy with my review. I wish I had read the other reviews before I hired them.

I responded to a sales call for a $49 dryer vent cleaning. A young man showed up who seemed friendly enough. It went downhill from there rather quickly. The young man proceeded to give me a total bs up-sell con job! He jiggled the vent pipe, saying there were big problems with the pipe and I needed a new elbow joint for it; also said that inside there was probably so much buildup that was causing it; then went up on the roof and said there were problems with the vent up there, the cement was cracked; needed new this, new that, blah blah, all kinds of nonsense. It did not seem right at all. He said about $130 worth of stuff was needed from Home Depot. He could fix it for about $190. Then he wanted to take his leaf blower thing and stick it in the dryer vent and **** all the dryer lint everywhere. I told him to put the dryer back and to please leave. Following up, I had Ted from The Dryer Guys here to do the vent cleanout and Ted, who seemed like a real professional, assured me there was nothing wrong with the vent pipe, the roof vent or anything related to my dryer and the vent. The vent was cleaned thoroughly and he replaced the connection hose without additional charge. Trust your gut people, and beware of low priced scam upsell con jobs

Description of Work: I was lied to, told that I had 7 ducts on my roof, there are only 3. My gut told me not to trust this person. I wish I'd paid attention. I think the quote for the job was $69. I paid around $350.

It was for $69 but they ended up coming up with $308 worth of stuff that needed doing. I decided to do it but I'm not certain that it was necessary and I wish I had consulted with someone first. My husband has Alzheimer's, normally I could rely on his judgement about such things but I can't any longer. I wish I had gone to my neighbor or something to check and see. I didn't have a good feeling and yet I did it because they insisted it needed to be done. I felt like I was put in a tight spot and didn't know how to handle that. I don't think I will use them again.

I believe I have serviced this customer in the past I wish she would have called me instead of giving me a C rating. I did a fine job it seems like most people only put negative comments on this forum. I ONLY reccomend what needs to be done. % 80 of jobs we go to need some additional repair And if so we tell them. We don't force anyone to do anything we don't scare anyone into doing anything we just inform them if they want is to do it we do it. We ALWAYS tell them that if they want to get estamites to please do so. All in all I think 4 complaints over a decade isn't all that bad we have an A resting with the BBB and are accredited members as well. Every single home we go into we could find a necessary repair. It's just a matter if the customer wants us to do it. We have never had our work questioned. Almost every homeowner neglects maintaining the dryer vent Anyone who has it cleaned regularly I can assure you would not need any type of repair

Brought in a large bag of lint to show what was removed but did not throw the bag away - not sure if the lint actually came from my dryer. Also removed dryer vent pipe - said it had a hole - wanted $190 for a new dryer vent kit - cost about $15 at Home Depot. Tracked dirt all in my house. Wanted to sell me air duct cleaning - don't want any future dealings with this company

When they had the duct vent pulled out, they said it was ripped. They said they had a kit and said they could fix. They ended up charging $190 to do so. I was at home depot the next day and saw an equivalent kit was $14. They replaced the kit within about 10 minutes, so it was not labor intensive. They went on my roof and said that I have (7) vents with no covers that could add for $15 a piece. I feel like they are a bait and switch operation. They even wanted to do all the air ducts in the house and were persistent though I was told previously by an HVAC technician that would not be neccasary.

There is no way he saw a pipe kit with an elbow ,sleeve and connect kit for $14,He saw a flex pipe for $14 As far as soliciting to clean the air ducts. What's wrong with that We always tell our customers other Services we offer. If the customer would have called me I would have easily explained What a full pipe kit consists of. Unfortunately this is just another case of someone Just jumping the gun. People should reach out to a company with any concerns they have (to give the company A chant to discuss a situation). But that didn't harm and now due to a customer not having complete Details They form an opinion that is not accurate. If a customer is on doubt @ a product or service they MUSTy Contact the company first. That's the fair way to do it. Then base their decision based on the response They receive. It's not right!!!!

They worked great and were very clean. They had a two man crew that worked together all the time. It is a family company and they were excellent. I will use them again in the future.

I previously used them to clean my dryer vent. Each time they supposedly found something else that needed fixing. It is stuff that a normal homeowner is not going to check like you need this on your roof or you have 2 AC lines that have a hole in them. They then quote a cost to repair or replace them. I told them that it feels like they are pulling a scam and asked them to show me pictures which they did after a long time so i do not know if the pictures were truly of my ducts or not. They also told me they sanitized my ducts and sprayed them but again when I asked how I could verify that there was no way unless I sat in the attci with them when they were doing it. It just feels queasy. I feel like they were taking advantage of me. Also, each time their boss gets on the line he says the normal charge is blank but i will do it for you for less since my guys are there or he says he is sensitive to how much this is costing. . They do this in a nice way but again it all sounds and feels fishy though I have no actual proof. Be careful.

I am very surprised by this customers comments....We did a great job for him and he NEVER said anything to me regarding his concerns mentioned in his report...Each time we went to his home it was for a different purpose when the techs are at someones home, and there is a repair needed we ALWAYS tell the customer if its a repair that we are able to take care of , i will always do it at a lesser cost while i am there (doesnt that make sense) the gas cost alone is tremendous!!!!!! as far as the customer questioning the work we recomended .we always go out of our way to explain to someone exactly what is needed ......and if the customer can gain access to the area where the job is we ALWAYS have them look everything over , and explain step by step the process... no matter how small or how large the repair may be.... as far as the sanitizing goes that is done at the vent in plain view with a machine that is very loud ,that sprays a fog into each and every duct one at a time ...in summing up this situation i feel that if a customer has any concern they should call me to discuss it ....that never happened the home was built in 1999 they NEVER had anyone clean the ducts in that time....(12-13 years) so to find that there was a repair needed isnt so far fetched we did a great job .....for the customer to say he felt scammed or he thought something might be fishy is his feeling (again that was NEVER brought to my attention) if it were- i probably would have passed on the job or recomended a second opinion !!!! the bottom line is that the job was done %100 the work is guaranteed and i wish this would have been brought to my attention everything in our homes need to be maintained regularly.....
