+ 2 moreEverything turned out well. I did have one discrepancy as they charged to cover up a attic that had a hole in it, and they said that was not covered under the Big Deal. They cleaned up after themselves and they were on time. They did an excellent job with the work. They really did a great job. They were here on time and they covered their shoes as well. They had a mess because of the attic and they cleaned everything up to perfection.
Description of Work: They showed me where we were losing air. They sealed a laundry room door and they fixed a few areas around my microwave and they covered a hole around around a window. They fixed a hole in an upstairs closet. They put insulation around the air conditioner and they sealed around it as well. They put a material around hoses for an exterior air conditioner.

+ 0 moreWe purchased the Big Deal for a service, but they tried to sell us other services. They were on time for the appointment and was pleasant while they were working. They were very nice, but their work did not hold up. It was disappointing. The work they did on the door was terrible because I can now see a gap between the unit they installed and floor and the same with the other door, but this unit just fell off completely. It was not worth the money because it did not hold up.

+ -1 moreI was very pleased with them. They seal and use a big fan to see how air may be leaking. They check underneath the sink to see if there are openings around the pipes. They were excellent. They actually found where whoever had done installation left an opening that they sealed.

+ -1 moreThe appointment was between 8 and 11 am. They were quite punctual, arriving 15 minutes early. That's huge! The two men introduce themselves. They were courteous, friendly, and very professional! My go-to guy was Sal Cavalieri. He explained everything they were going to do. They took off their shoes and had shoe covers to approach the rest of the house. They told me how long the job was going to take. From beginning to end, i was wowed. So, they hooked up the blower to simulate air flow, as the AC would normally work. They caulked every hole that had noticedable leaks. They showed me the trouble areas, and most of all, it was fairly in expensive. I thought it was cost $1000. They went above and beyond. The job ran over time, but Sal explained why, as my house had more leaks than initially thought.
Description of Work: Sealed areas in my home with air leaks to reduce energy loss and costs. A good investment!

+ -1 moreI purchased a big deal for Energy Sheriffs. It was okay, the standard stuff. Just about all of the bulbs are fluorescent. There's nothing much they could have done. I didn't pay more than the big deal amount. They did spent quite a lot of time explaining and setting up and everything else.
Description of Work: Energy Sheriffs sort of put a sand to close up all the windows and doors. They put sand on the front door and demonstrated that there's some air leaks in just a few places which needed some weatherstripping. They also recommended changing a few bulbs to compact for us and lighting.

The full home assessment identified several key areas that were sources of air leakage (pests entering the house and loss of air conditioning). We asked for a follow-up visit to remedy these issues. Sal and Luis returned the following week and spend almost a full day addressing this problem areas. We were impressed with their professionalism, courteous nature, clear communication and work ethic. 100% satisfied. We would recommend all homeowners to get the full home assessment.

The team was responsive, thorough, and professional -- from the time I purchased the deal through to the end of the assessment. If you own a home, hire these guys. If you are considering purchasing a home, hire these guys. They know their stuff. But what really impressed me is how passionate they are. Sal was drawing pictures to illustrate his points. He was excited and passionate about what he and his team do, and that passion came through. If a house one-year-old has areas for improvement, any house could use their comprehensive review.
Description of Work: I purchased a big deal through Angie's list. While I purchased the services for $111, the real price for everything the team did was $499. And wow, did I get my money's worth. The deal included weather stripped and air sealing of one door, as well as caulking and sealing of three windows on the interior of the home. It also include a full home energy audit with whole house (vacuum - ressure) air leak assessment. Keep in mind my home is only one year old. I didn't think the team would find anything, maybe a suggestion here or there. And I figured for the price of the deal, it was worth it to hear what the team had to say. When the team complete the comprehensive assessment, I had a full report, including photos, details, suggestions, and completed improvements. What's more, Sal (the lead) is also a safety assessor and had found a vogue piece of paper wrapped around a pipe near our gas water heater. We could have had a fire easily ignited by a piece of paper entirely outside of our view. When I see our house was canvased floor to ceiling, I am not kidding. They even found that the builder forgot to screw in parts of the window in one of ensuites. I never would have found that!

Yet each and every time they were EXTREMELY patient and helpful and were willing to work with me any way they could. I was happy to know that my condo was actually sealed pretty good but their were problems with my front door and they worked on it until it was to their satisfaction and I couldn't be more pleased! They left me with some verygood tips that I look forward to implementing in the future! GRADE A!!!!!!! ABOVE AND BEYOND BOARD!!! Thank you guys for everything!

They applied good quality weather stripping to two doors and even adjusted one of the doors to close properly. They left me a print out of the results of their testing and afterwards they answered some questions I had via email. I was very impressed with how everything was executed cleanly and professionally. Description of Work: The professionals for energy sheriff came in and did a thorough inspection of my house. They checked every possible place that my house could be leaking A/C from, checked all the light fixtures and light bulbs for energy efficiency and gave me a full report of how they could save me money. + -1 moreBoth Sal the owner and one of his employees spent 5 hours at my home and worked the whole time first evaluating and then repairing. The promise of at least a 14% savings on my power bill was true. I also have had no insects or droppings anywhere because even the smallest access to the outside due to poor workmanship by the builder of my home was now caulked. I actually called the Energy Sheriffs because a friend recommended them.
Description of Work: The $99 testing plus drywall repair; caulking in every room inside and out (including around the A/C unit outside and in the garage); replaced 9 bulbs in recessed lighting with energy efficient bulbs.

Although it is a new house he did find 2 minor problems. After doing the energy test he assured me the house is top of the line for efficiency. Description of Work: I was not impressed with the overall service. There may have been a language issue. The work was just okay. There was a problem with the entry into the garage that the wood striping needed replacing. The replaced wood stripping that was used was a composite which shows through as pieced together wood when the wood was stained in an attempt to match the door frame. The difference is obvious in the light and unsatisfactory.

+ -1 moreBest deal on angies list I've bought so far. They also chaulked my bathroom in the master bath to prevent pest which was really needed. The second bath they did was the half bath where the plumbing was poorly sealed and they fixed within minutes. Overall the appointment was for 8am and they did not leave until about 12:30. Excellent company truthful and honest people.
Description of Work: Deal covered weatherstripping 2 doors, 2 windows, and 2 bath rooms. Excellent deal for $149 original price $500. My front door was the main issue which Energy Sheriffs resolved by adjusting the door on the hedges which were off so the door closed properly and weatherstripped so air isn't lost. They also added a bottom weatherstripping which would of cost more but they said all my windows were fine so they didnt weatherstrip any windows, no problem b/c the front door was the main concern. The door to the garage was also done. Instantly I could tell the A/C ran less and it was cooler downstairs.

Description of Work: $109.00 for the Angie;s List Offer. They did a excellent job of fixing and sealing our attic drop down ladder door. And giving our report of any energy problems that we had. Then the report gave the problems they found and an estimate of how much they would charge to correct them. We chose to have them seal the hole in the garage where we had had a leak from the hot water heater, and the wall had not been repaired. Also hole in wall under the kitchen sink was repaired. The total charge for these items came to a total of $68.90. We thought it was a good deal and worth it. We were pleased with them. Sal was very professional and did not pressure us in any way to have the work done.

Description of Work: Two gentlemen, professional in appearance and demeanor, did a complete survey of our house (approx. 3,000 sq. ft. under a/c) plus the garage. In additon to checking every opening, (doors, windows, fireplaces, hot water heaters etc,) They climbed in the attic, walked the exterior perimeter of the house, and generally did a thorough and complete review. It took them almost two hours as they were making notes as they went, and asked questions. They also identified and sealed a number of areas from which air was leaking ( several exterior doors, garage access panels, hot water heater vent pipe, etc.) and this was included in the " Angie's special" price that I had signed up for. At the conclusion of their survey, they sat with me and reviewed their findings and gave me copies of their paperwork together with written recommendations. I was at liberty to hire them to do some or all of the work recommended, or not. Most of what needed done was added to my husband's "honey do" list, and has been accomplished. I definitely noticed a significant reduction in our enery bill after that. Money truly well spent. This was an Angie's List special that was well worth the money. I feel we got much more then we paid for with this company. W We own a small office building downtown. I intend to call them to perform a survey there as well, before summer gets underway.
