Description of Work: I bought a deal for $99 whole house & a/c duct air-leak test plus energy audit. The air conditioner works but there is a piece missing.

Description of Work: They came to evaluate my homes energy use. They checked the seals on my doors, any holes between walls and equipment. they sealed two doors to the outside, replacing the seals my cat tore to pieces when he accidentally got locked outside. they sealed holes in the walls where pipes went in and out, and sealed my baseboard even though that wasn't included in the deal.

Description of Work: The Energy Sheriffs came in and performed an air duct test. They also installed installation around our doors and sealed around the ac units.

Description of Work: They arrived as scheduled, and spent almost 4 hours looking for air leaks, and sealing them up. They pressure tested the house, and installed a new door sweep, and weatherstripping. They were very thorough and proffessional. I would recommend them.

Description of Work: Both doors were resealed and a number of areas where pipes came through the floor (water pipes for the toilets and fan exhaust over the stove for example) were sealed. They did a test for leaks where they set up a fan at one door that was pulling the air from inside of my house and I could feel the air being pulled through even the electrical outlets. I even purchased some energy saving light bulbs from them at a much better price than I've seen at various stores.

Description of Work: Sal and Jose did the energy audit. They did the work which included chalking several windows, replacing door seals on three windows, replacing and chalking around the air conditioner into the ceiling, along with underneath bathroom and kitchen sinks.

Description of Work: Energy Sheriffs inspected some areas of my house that needed taking a look at.

Description of Work: Salvatore came in August with his assistant to do the inspection of our home. He came back with two assistants and performed the changing of all light bulbs to LED (or CFL when LED wasn't available), sealing the doors, and correcting any "open" areas under sinks in 3 bathrooms, insulating pipes with hot or cold water.

Description of Work: I used the services of Energy Sheriffs about a month ago. They replaced all the light bulbs in our house.

Description of Work: Auditor first asked me what I wanted and was expecting from the audit. He then spent about 4 hours doing a very thorough investigation of every aspect of energy usage in my home. He then took me through the report that he generated on site with his computer and printer. As we went through the report he physically showed me things in the home that could not be easily explained. At the end of the report were specific recommendations that he made to make my home more energy efficient and save me money on my utilities. His recommendations included his company doing the work in the report if we wanted. He was very professional and easy going. It was a very pleasant experience and he did not do any kind of a 'hard' sell.

Description of Work: Sal came promptly at the appointed time. He arrived with 2 associates. He initially did a "heat loss survey", evaluating our windows and doors for leakage. Happily, all but one of our many windows passed with flying colors, but 4 of our outside doors showed leakage, a common source of heat entry. He did a survey of our attic/crawl space areas, determining that our insulation was sufficient, but that we should add insulation to the plywood "entry doors" to the attic. Additionally, having gasket sealing around these platforms would help keep the heat out. He surveyed all of our light fixtures, noting that we had already replaced to many of them with CFLs (compact fluorescent light). He went over a multi-page survey of all of our appliances, including hot water heater, watch or-prior, dishwasher and refrigerators. We then sat down and reviewed his recommendations, including completing the task of replacing incandescent with CFL, providing a better gasket/sealing around the our exit doors, replacing our AC thermostats with automatic setback thermostats, and several other recommendations. We felt very positively about his sincerity and honesty, and decided to proceed with his recommendations. He and his staff performed the above-noted changes. The estimated time to complete the task was longer than he had anticipated, but I attribute this to a very meticulous and thorough work ethic.

Description of Work: They replaced virtually all the light bulbs in the house (about 65) and even left extras.Installed door gaskets, attic gaskets,put some utilities on a power surge,reprogrammed thermostats, insulated pipes etc. They gave much sage advice on how to keep the electric and water bill down. I had taken advantage of the Angie's List deal. It is hard to beat their 25% reduction in electric bill guarantee or your money back.

Description of Work: The inspector arrived in the early morning as agreed, I was glad he made the extra effort to respond to my request to set the appointment just one day earlier. First he gave me an overview of the available services and achievable benefits, then he went in details through the guarantee that they provide, which was one of the main reasons I chose this company, they put their money where their mouth is. Afterward he performed the inspection using specialized instrumentation to determine air leaks (he found some even though my house is only 4 years old) and suggested appropriate remediation, went through my lighting system to show how much savings would be available if I switched to Energy Star light bulbs (by the way, not all low-consumption lights are Energy Star rated, it was interesting to learn that), he inspected the AC and found several maintenance work to be done that would increase the AC efficiency plus avoid future repairs, and finally went into the attic to determine whether sufficient insulation was needed to improve energy efficiency (it was needed, for instance the attic door and several other spots were completely lacking insulation). Afterward, he quickly summarized the findings and produced a computer report which highlighted potential savings after remediation. I signed up right away since the potential savings figures didn't appear inflated, it was a sensible estimate showing that I could recoup the investment in just under 5 months, possibly less if I adopted additional measures such as limiting the swimming pool daily circulation time. The inspector, furnished with all necessary parts in his vehicle, changed all my light bulbs to Energy Star ones including some dimmable ones, and also used some dimmable LED on the kitchen counter, then proceeded to fix the AC problems and the attic insulation, and finally blocked the air leaks. He was on his way in less than 3 hours.

After a one hour inspection I understood the main causes of energy waste in my home; Energy Sheriffs provided a summary of solutions and estimated prices (and Savings!!). ES upgraded the same day our lighting systems, installed phantom electric killers, and corrected many air leaks throughout my house.
