+ -1 moreTwo individuals from Energy Sheriffs showed up promptly at the appointed time. I really didn't know what to expect. They were smart, courteous, and patiently answered all my questions. They looked at the entire house and explained the obvious energy deficiencies, which are very common in dwellings. They later proceeded to do an air pressure test which pinpointed all air leaks, no matter how tiny. Stripping was added around my front and kitchen doors plus insulation installed in virtually all electric sockets and switches. Sometimes a small air leak remained in the latter, which they explained was the result of structural issues in the switches. It made sense to me. I paid extra to have stripping placed around the entrance to the air handler in the attic. They also used foam to patch a hole in the bathtub. All work was expertly done. My front door and kitchen door are more difficult to close now, which I consider a positive sign the work and materials were high quality. They also printed a copy of their energy survey with recommendations for future work (which they don't do) and suggested where to go to have my attic insulation upgraded to code. My expectations were far exceeded and I felt the money was very well spent. Energy Sheriffs guarantee 25% energy savings and I am confident this will occur, although I won't know until I go through another torrid Florida summer. Energy Sheriffs gets my highest recommendation.

Description of Work: 2 men spent 6 or more hours checking the house for air leaks. They then returned and spent another 6-8 hours fixing the leaks. Sal was polite and thorough. I thought he and his associate did a wonderful job. I highly recommend them.

+ 0 moreEverything was done with care and consideration - they were very clean on working on the doors, and in walking through the home and attic. What they were going to provide was explained and performed professionally, and we have in hand the results for the next steps should we choose to continue. Those things they do not provide (like insulation for the attic) they provided the information to remedy it.
Description of Work: We looked on Angie's list for energy audit - our elderly mother now blind for several years, had Florida home with lots of apparent leaks around windows and doors. Before we look into replacements, we wanted to get the full story and found Energy Sheriffs and a coupon for just $99 - a very nice savings on their normal audit. With the coupon came free installation of weather stripping for two doors - we picked the front door, which is a large double door, and clearly showed daylight between the cracks when closed. They did a great job on the door. They inspected the attic - checking for insulation factors - and then toured each room in the home to get an idea of all the windows and other exits. They attached a computer smart door frame inside our laundry room to garage door frame and attached a powerful fan. When started and readings began, we did another tour of the home and found leaks around areas we suspected and some new areas as well - windows, doorwall sliding doors, cabana doors, plumbing under each sink in the home, and several outlets - all of them showed air flowing, meaning leaks. They showed me, beforehand, what was going to be done, providing me with brochures and a folder. At the end, the computer printout summarized the findings, and they itemized the areas which should be attended to. They also provided a price for the items which they can perform us. This included a savings estimate, so that we could see that a modest investment in fixing our leaks would have payback in benefits over even a short time.

The doors were not aligned, but they worked hard to align them and replace the weather strips. The next step was the air leak inspection of the house. Overall this was a good deal and the two workers did a good job and were professional in doing the job and also in cleaning up after the work was done.

+ -1 moreNot only did they perform the Energy Savings assessment, they taught me about new ways to save energy and tips on how to easily to maintain my energy savings. I thought I knew what they were going to come in to my home and tell me, but I was so pleasantly surprised! It was money well worth spending because I have already saved almost double that in one month! They were very professional as well.
Description of Work: They checked my home for air leaks and sealed them up- my front door, holes where wires/cords pass through the walls e.g. electrical, fire alarm, etc and sealed up those holes, they checked the sliding glass doors for leaks, my duct work was re-taped with special tape, the a/c compressor room was sealed wherever there were air leaks, etc etc etc.

They carefully explained the results of the tests and how we could reduce our energy costs by repairing certain window and door leakage spots as well as changing some of our lighting options. They took care to cover their feet when they entered our home and were a pleasure to work with.
Description of Work: The offer was for an audit of the house's energy efficiency i.e. air leaks around windows and doors, etc. They sealed up the house and performed the tests which disclosed which vents, windows and doors were leaking air, thereby adding to our energy costs. They also reviewed our lighting usage as well as our appliances.

+ -1 moreThe Energy Sheriffs arrived at the very beginning of the time slot they offered, and immediately got to work. First they started in on the obvious gaps in the front door that had prompted my choice to have this service done. then the lead took me around the whole house after they set up a blower to find air leaks. He also showed me how he detected any issues. He used a heat detector to show me places where there was a lack of insulation and explained the different ways that could be amended. He examined the exterior and the garage for energy leaks. He put together a report itemizing the possible fixes and noting all the points that we had already done our best to minimize energy loss. It was quite thorough, and he went over each point with me making notes. then he wrote a quote for getting many of the issues fixed (only about $200) and was happy to complete the work immediately over all, about 5.5 hours of work for 2 men; I consider it a bargain, as well as not requiring my husband to wrestle with all the little issues that would have taken twice as much time and effort since these repairs were done by people who knew what they were doing and had everything right there without any trips back and forth to the hardware store for "just one more little thing" Both gentlemen acted professionally, politely and efficiently the entire time they were here.
Description of Work: The purchased offer included a whole house pressure test for air leaks, an explanation of various electric waste issues, and plugging all the holes near plumbing entrances, plus weatherstripping the front door. I paid an extra fee for the weather stripping of 2 windows, another door, and the caulking of numerous holes. the workers were efficient, and went beyond the minimum when they fixed the found issues.

Description of Work: The Energy Sheriffs came on time and began work right away. One worker explained all that was to be done and the process of calculating the energy usage in my home. They began with my front door- they went above and beyond. They had to realign my door and then they weatherstripped it and got rid of all the gaps around my door. They cleaned out my sliding glass door runners to make sure the doors closed tightly. They then used their "device" which helps them to see where enery is lost in your home. They sealed some areas where air was escaping(or coming in) and resealed my 2 upstairs windows. They were at my home over 4 hours doing the work. Before leaving one worker went over all the findings and gave me ways to save energy in my home. It was a very worthwhile deal and the customer service was excellent.

+ -1 moreOverall, it went very well. They were upfront on everything that was included and what there would be extra charges on things we would want to fix over and beyond the original offer. I would recommend to use them if you know you have problems with windows, door's, or anything else where outside air is coming in your home.
Description of Work: They came in and did initial inspection and fixed all things included in the offer. They then gave me a very fair estimate of all items not included such as additional weather stripping for doors and moving hinges, etc. they thoroughly checked attics, air conditioners, laundry rooms for any air leaks where heat could come in. They also made additional recommendations for other helpful things that did not need immediate attention but would help. They were much better than the people fl power sends out. After several months, we have seen a definite difference in energy usage and air coming into our home.

I have a townhouse with one entry door, which the weather stripping for the door was changed, the threshold adjusted along with the sweep on the bottom of the door, with no leak afterward.
