Description of Work: Couldn't make new door fit "square" in the whole they made in the wall. Kept just trying to trim it down but just made it worse. Refused to take the door back and get a new one, although really it was likely the hole they made in the wall not being exactly rectangular. He became a little agressive about it.

Shelving in the garage fell down. As a result paint and everything on the bedroom closet type shelving was al over the garage floor and the sensor for the garage door opener was damaged. He had several responses---1- I got what I paid for; 2--you probably did it; 3--if I wanted better quality, I could go out and buy it and he would put it up but didn't know when. As a result, I had to spend more money having the garage floor power washed and the garage door repaired. I do not recommend this provider.
Description of Work: Provider replaced 2doors, replaced an 8x9 deck and putup shelving in the garage.

When the project was discussed the provider stated that he could begin the project after the first of the year but did not begin the project until the end of the first week in February. The project took two weeks. The work was done by the provider's employees. He periodically showed up for short periods of time. The finished product appears to be OK but there are areas which I have questions about so I am going to have another contractor evaluate the work . My complaint is that after the siding had been put up there was a lot of extra materials (Hardie siding and trim) left. This was also noted by one of the workers. On the last day, the provider came and began loading up his trailer with the Hardie siding and trim. I asked him why he was taking it since I paid for it and he stated that the contract was for the siding of my house and he continued loading the material on to his trailer, and he took it away. He returned shortly after and stated something about getting a good price if he order another pallet and so it did't really cost me any more. I asked about receipts and material list and I got no response. He also stated that he was going to put the extra siding and trim on his shed. I am going to have the work evaluated by another contractor and I am considering contacting an attorney and filing a complaint with the Department of Consumer Complaints. This provider took advantage of my trust and when confronted rationalized his behavior with a number of excuses. It is evident that he does not believe in accountability. I will never use his services again and will not recommend him to anyone. In fact, I do not want him on my property again.
Description of Work: The provider was contracted to put Hardie siding on my house.

Response from Zabitosky Construction
I apologize that there was a misunderstanding surrounding the contract we both signed and am saddened that you were unhappy. I have had the privilege of doing many jobs for you since we have met and was proud to be your “go to” contractor. If I was unable to explain to your satisfaction why additional material was purchased and not left, I am deeply sorry and will attempt to explain it here on this forum. To begin with, there are 2 types of contracts I make with my customers: a firm price contract and a time and materials contract. A firm price contract means we agree to a total price for a job and I provide the material and complete all aspects of the job to fulfill what was listed on the contract. A time and material contract means that you agree to pay me my hourly rate until a job has been completed, and it is the customer’s responsibility to provide the material. If I am asked to purchase said material (for the customer’s convenience on a time and material contract) I then provide all receipts. We had a firm price contract for the work that was to be completed on your home. Our contract stated that I would remove all existing trim, soffit and fascia, install new Arctic White (James Hardie Product) fascia, soffit (vented and non-vented), window and door trim and corner trim, install approximately 1750 square feet of (James Hardie Product) sail cloth lap siding, caulk all siding and trim with similar colors, fill all holes and touch them up with a similar color paint, remove existing corner concrete columns and install two new columns and railing on your front porch. I absolutely fulfilled my end of the contract with you. When purchasing material for a firm contract price job, it is within my right as a smart contractor to find the best deal and order a cushion of material to allow for damage to the material as well as needing more if need be and/or using it for multiple jobs. It was a better deal for me to buy it by the palette. My supplier actually recommended it because I was then able to get more material but at the same price if I had simply ordered what was needed for your job solely. Everyone loves a bargain, so that is what I did. Reading your post I felt your chief complaint was regarding the material so let me further explain how that money was spent in order to complete your job. The “material” that was used for your job did not end with the siding, trim, permit fees, etc. Special guns were rented to allow for a firm adherence to the concrete block. These guns take special nails which I also purchased. I found the very best products to use on your job to help to ensure a top of the line result. I further used material money to pay for the 2 coats of paint that were applied to all soffit, fascia and trim to make sure you had a perfect match and were satisfied even though our contract only called for spot touch ups. I also went above and beyond by removing all of your exterior lights, outlets and electrical boxes and then reinstalling them after the fact. I also purchased and installed 2 new light fixtures for you. These were things I did to help ensure you would be more than satisfied with the finished product. Making sure you were happy was my priority. I’d also like to address your statement about your disappointment concerning the timeline of your job. We signed a contract on Wednesday, January 14, 2015 and your material was ordered on Thursday, January 15, 2015. The supplier received your special order on February 2, 2015 and delivered it to your home on February 5, 2015. We began your job promptly on February 6, 2015. We completed the job on February 20, 2015. My crew was there with my trusted foreman in charge every day except on February 18, 2015 due to a terrible rain storm. I did call you that day to let you know that the weather would not permit us to work that day. I want nothing more than to leave a customer happy and satisfied in all aspects of a job that I have the opportunity to complete for them. I’m terribly sorry that I was not able to do that for you. I completely stand behind my work and welcome any fellow contractor to assess my jobs. I further guarantee my work for one full year. I use my reviews on Angie’s list as an opportunity to learn and better myself, my company, as well as fine tune any “human” mistakes I may make with customer service.

The Zabitosky Team did a fantastic job and I am so pleased with the results! We were trying to get our house ready for market and were on a very limited budget and timeline. Zabitosky Construction gave us a thorough estimate and walked us through the entire job step by step. All results were exactly as promised and there were no suprises regarding price or tasks completed. The gentlemen working on site were very professional (even though my tiny dog barked at them the entire time!). I am so impressed with the work and the manner in which they conduct business that I just can't say enough great things about them! If you need work done, these guys are the BEST! , a

From start to finish we could not be more unhappy with Mike Zabitosky's work (or lack there of). We signed a contract with him in August and what was supposed to take a month took 2 months. He ripped off the roof and left it tar papered for over a month. He also shot nails all through my tongue and groove ceiling. All the while rain was coming in the house constantly. I have pictures where my back room had an inch of water in it. All those nail holes were like a rain shower. When asked about the nails he said and quot;well I didn't know it was tongue and grooveand quot;. He complimented me on them when he was over to sign the contract. When asked how he was going to fix them he said he would only grind them down and it will look fine. No where close. It still looks terrible to this day. I told him it would be a little over a thousand to get them fixed he said he would only pay $600. I did it to just get him out of my life and chalk it up as a hard lesson learned. Then all the leaks start happening. He comes out and says he fixed it and did an awesome job. As soon as it rains water continues to come in. Each time there was a new excuse. One was instead of covering over a old unused gas vent he just put a boot on it. Said it was fixed. That boot has a hole in the top and more water came in. Where he flashed up to the chimney was a disaster. He came out 3 times to fix that. The last time he said he used a whole can of flex seal. Flex seal it that stuff on the infomercials. Didn't work water kept coming in. Then I got a ladder one day and noticed that there were rust spots everywhere. I called Mike and he said it was the manufacturer and they will have to replace the roof. The manufacturer came out and said point blank that it's from Mike not properly cleaning off the metal shaving when he drilled the holes. Mike continued to tell me that this guy was lying and its their fault. So at this point I hired an attorney. We settled to have someone come out and inspect the roof and he was to fix all things that were not up to snuff. He came before the inspection and tried to fix the chimney. When the inspection was preformed he said the what was done was wrong and going to leak. He also noticed that Mike did not put blockers on the ridge cap and rain and animals could get in. as well as host of other things. LONG STORY SHORT. PLEASE DO NOT MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE WE DID AND HIRE THIS GUY.

I deeply apologize for your project not going as smoothly as I had hoped it would. I am human and although a seasoned contractor, can have oversights. I believe I tried my best to provide you with a roof that passed all inspections, was up to code and to communicate with you to iron out issues as they arose. Please know that this is in no way the norm for my company, and I am glad that we were able to come to a resolution that you were satisfied with.

When it came to the hurricane impact windows, Zabitosky Construction measured the size of windows incorrectly, so when he went to put the new ones in, he had to remove all the window ledges in every room and in the process of putting the windows in, he had to chip away at the wall like a quarter inch to correct for the mismeasurement and so he damaged the wall underneath each window, that the way he did the job I needed to have every room in the house re-painted.
Description of Work: Zabitosky Construction put on a roof, put in hurricane impact windows and had a plumber repair my pressure pump and well and did other renovations with the tile floors and painting.

I am terribly sorry that you were caused any irritation during the process of the work my company performed on your home renovation. Every window installation is different, and there can be unforeseen issues arise when windows are replaced due to the original construction of the home. I wish you would have communicated with me that the mudding, texture, and painting that my crew did to fix the imperfections were not sufficient, so that I could have done more to make you a satisfied customer. Please know that I have made changes in my policy and procedures and will not allow future customers to walk away unhappy.

Who I did chose off of your list is Zabitosky Construction. It is Michael Zabitsoky. That's who I hired, recommended by your company. He turned out to be a very good man in terms of doing the job. He did an excellent job. It was very well organized, he did it in six days and I paid him almost $10,000. Construction is very expensive. One has to take that into consideration. It was finished up March 28th. The job turned out very good. It was done correctly and very accurately. I had no quarrel with the young man at all. I would have to give him an excellent report on his work.
Description of Work: Zabitosky Construction had to redo a room that had been a screened in porch. He redid it because it was done without a permit by the owner back in July and it was done with out the permit and town made me do it over. I had to hire someone who could do it over.

They gave us a good price. Matched the tile well along with the grout. Fixed our aluminum screen door, as well as move and re fix a shelf in the laundry room.
Description of Work: They have worked on our house for several years. I would have no other contractor do our repairs. This particular date was to fix a front door, remove and replace tile as well as other significant problems..

Since we were not from the area, we relied on our Realtor to recommend a Construction/Remodeling contractor to us. We were in constant contact with our realtor for several months. During this time period, he became very familiar with our discerning tastes. He wouldn't ordinarily recommend anyone to clients unless he was sure the quality of workmanship was top notch. He recommended Zabitosky Contstruction to us and soon after we met with the owner, Mike Zabitosky. First, we started off with having Mike give us an estimate of demolition and tiling work. Upon agreement of the contract, we handed the keys to him and left the work in his hands. During the next several weeks, Mike would send pictures to us and keep us constantly informed about the status of the job. During a second visit to the area, we popped in and took a look first hand. While the pictures Mike sent to us showed the high quality of work, they did not prepare us for our first visit back. When we opened the door, we were blown away. The workmanship was exceptional, the work area was very clean, their equipment was well organized and stored and with our prior permission had gone over and beyond to take care of details that we had not considered. Mike's work was so outstanding that upon completion, we immediately decided to increase the scope of work and have contracted with him to perform additional work. HIGHLY RECOMMEND ZABITOSKY CONSTRUCTION.
Description of Work: Services performed included: installing 1500 sq. ft. of tile, demolition of interior walls ,installation of sheetrock and molding, relocation of electrical and plumbing, and resurfacing textured ceilings.

Being recently widowed, I was apprehensive about letting anyone into my home. But Mike came highly recommended by my sister-in-law. Even though he is based in Vero Beach, he works in Brevard County as far north as Titusville. I liked him as soon as I met him. He is a no nonsense, straight shooter. He does what he says and tells you what he thinks. He is courteous, prompt, most knowledgeable, and won't fix something that doesn't need fixing. He showed up when he said he would and did what he said he would do. He and his crew worked hard and I more than got my money's worth. I have already spoken with him about coming back to replace a bathroom sink, do some electrical work and drywall repairs. I'm just afraid, that once word gets out about how good he is, his business will really pick up and we will all have to get on the waiting list. But it's worth the wait for Zabitosky Construction.
Description of Work: Owner Mike Zabitosky and his crew replaced termite-damaged support beams on my back porch. This entailed cutting through the concrete block wall to access the beams and replacing a support header beam. He had to remove half of the aluminum interior porch ceiling to complete the job. He then replaced all the aluminum ceiling panels leaving the ceiling looking exactly as it did before he started the job.On his return visit, he repaired all the stucco that had been cut and then replaced all the screening. Next he cleaned the gutters, then placed gutter screen on the gutters (at my request) to keep out leaves and pine needles. He then trimmed some tree branches that were hanging on the roof causing the gutter problem, which was above and beyond what I had expected. Each of the two times he was at my home, he cleaned up after himself so that you would not know he had even been there.
