Great. The job was completed in a reasonable time frame, he works through any issues that arise and understands what is needed.
Description of Work: The street lights in our neighborhood are 16-years old and have not been professionally maintained over the years. Many have areas that have corroded, the paint is peeling on some lights, the cement bases have been dinged from lawn mowers and they needed a good cleaning. Reade is taking care of everything from grinding and removing corrosion, priming and painting, to cleaning and reinstalling new glass and bulbs. He is very knowledgeable when it comes to the correct product to use and uses quality materials. His price is fair and completes the job in a timely manner. I have used him on many projects and will continue to do so in the future. I highly recommend Reade and have recommended to others who are also pleased with his work.

Reade and RCF did a nice job. Their price was fair. Does not appear to be anything that he could not do. Very honest. They did much of the work when I was not home. While I was initially uncomfortable with having a team of strangers in my house when I was not there, they proved they are absolutely trustworthy and I would not hesitate to hire them again. PS - A crack developed in the new ceiling shortly after it was completed. Reade came back out, pronto, and took care of the repair.

I own 3 warehouses and have used Reade many times over the past two years. He and his crew have done clean up work and renovations of units after tenants leave, general carpentry and construction, repair and some remodeling, painting, pressure washing, and a lot of other tasks related to keeping the warehouses looking good. Additionally, he has done work around my house and I have recommended him to several other companies that I have relationships with. The other companies are also impressed with his work and continue to use him on other jobs as needed. He and Robert work hard, don't slack off on the job, are very fair regarding pricing, are punctual and follow up if there are issues after the object is done. Reade is very knowledgeable about a lot of things related to construction and knows what to do and what not to do. Just this weekend, Reade and Robert worked with me on a shed I was building. I will keep working with him in the future. And that says it all.

Reade has done 3 jobs for me, two at our lake house and one at our residential home. I am impress with the work Reade does. He and his helper Robert do a good job. He is also going to pressure wash, paint and hang shutters this spring at our home. Hiring him multiple times is proof of his good quality work.

Reade was very responsive and pleasant. He accomplished all that we asked and then some. Would not hesitate to call again in the future. We had several new light fixtures to install and asked that he also install 2 recessed lights in our shower. He hung 3 mirrors as well and he adapted quickly to things out of the ordinary as they occurred.

Reade and his partner Sal showed up on schedule for three straight days to perform the work described above. They were courteous, professional and extremely efficient. We were so impressed with Reade's work that we have two other major projects we will be hiring him for. Reade and Sal were a pleasure to work with and Reade's prices were fair. In fact, Reade, did some additional caulking and patching of areas around the exterior of my home at no extra charge. I would highly recommend Reade for future work and have told my neighbors about his outstanding skills.
Description of Work: My wife and I hired Reade to do the following work: patch a profusion of the drywall in our living room, repair wood rot under one of the exterior windows; pressure clean, seal and paint the roof of our backyard deck; pressure clean, seal and paint the deck surface of our pool.

Everything went well, the cost for labor was 365.00, I added extra for materials I paid. I am wondering if I used a different grout, the results would be different. All in All I am pleased with the painting and the new cabinet, but with the amount of clean up I had to do and continue to do, if wasn't worth having the re grouting done. Reade did mention that the initial grout did not look bad, and stated he would return to do any areas that I felt needed re done. Its a project I should have left alone and used a grout cleaner for a whiter look. But I certainly will have Reade return for other projects.

I have been associated with many contractors and subcontractors in the past, and Reade is among the very best of them. If I could give higher grades than and quot;A,and quot; I would. I was very fortunate to find him on Angie's List and definitely plan to use him again. I couldn't be more pleased with Read's attention to details and his management of capable assistants. They were always cheerful, courteous and a pleasure to work with. No task was beyond Reade's capabilities.
Description of Work: A wide range of renovations, including: interior painting, exterior painting, lighting and electric work, landscaping, carpentry, plumbing, appliance installation, finishing details, and more. He and his assistants expertly brought a foreclosed property to "like new" condition.

He was very easy to work with, plus he gave us some very good ideas about the different products to use. He went with us to Lowe's to pick the right paint as Lowe's had given us the wrong color, and didn't complain about the wasted time. He was definitely a perfectionist and fast - an added feature was his extremely nice demeanor. To sum it all up, we have already recommended him to our friends and will continue to do so, as he has many other talents, which we hope to use in the future.

RCF came highly recommended from a very highly renowned Angie's List handyman (CSC). I had originally wanted CSC to do our work simply because of his amazing ratings in every category as well as the flattering and descriptive details about his work. Anyways, when CSC had stated that he was unavailable for my job he referred me over to RCF. I was excited when I found someone to do everything mentioned above in the and quot;what did the provider do?and quot; section for the price my wife and I had budgeted for this portion of our renovation (not to exceed $3000). At our initial meeting on August 30 a bid of $2500, but absolutely not to exceed $3000 in a worst case scenario for labor only was given. He mentioned that he would do everything he could to give us breaks and cut corners where he could to meet our budget which was much appreciated and lent further credibility to his recommendation. Full disclosure was given that the drywall to be hung was of the 5/8 variety. I was also given the estimate of 100 sheets to be hung. Our home was down to bare studs at the time so there was nothing hidden. Given that I was told that RCF had over 25 years experience hanging drywall among other handyman services and many references to back up the quality of his work I took him at his word while at the same time refusing to take him up on the offer to view referrals from previously satisfied customers (my own fault). I was also told that if we chose to use his services that he would be staying at a hotel locally in town (didn't happen) so as to complete the job sooner. I was initially given a 1.5 week time table to hang, finish, texture, and prime/paint. I was all in at this point since all but one other bid I received was much higher (most between 5-10k). Furthermore, I explained that I would be available 2-3 days each week as needed to help with any work that would make the job go by quicker and /or make my final bill less expensive. The good...They began work on September 3. At the early stages of work, RCF recommended bullnose corner bead instead of regular 90 degree angle corner bead as a finish to the drywall. He explained that he would not charge any extra for this at the time and that was much appreciated b/c it does lend a nicer, more updated appearance to our home. Also, there were several occasions where I had questions about something and he would answer them to put my mind at ease. This was much needed and appreciated again b/c we had been previously burned by another drywall handyman with shady craftsmanship. The bad...I received phone calls on several occasions citing reasons (broken down truck (twice), finishing another job (twice)) why they wouldn't be working on a certain day which only delayed things further. I will say that I did appreciate the phone calls as a mere courtesy as opposed to just leaving me to wonder. When they did show up to work they typically came on time (that is another good thing that belongs in the above paragraph). Since I was given what I thought at the time to be a fair price and time frame of completion I was trying to be as flexible as possible with RCF. Even though our home was in stages of remodel I was constantly cleaning up pieces of broken up drywall, screws, sweeping, etc. to keep them from doing it so they could work faster, safer, and more efficient. At the time upon which most, if not all, the drywall was hung and finished a note was left for me describing how many man hours RCF had into our job and that he could no longer continue finishing out the remainder of the job (prime/paint and texture) unless more money was given. I spoke with him about this in detail and explained why I did not feel comfortable doing this seeing as how he was the seasoned professional who gave the estimate and had full disclosure of the materials involved. I was given the reason of and quot;I didn't know until I started doing the work that there was going to be this many boards...that it was going to take as long...and quot; He offered to walk away, no hard feelings, and be done. But since I knew that I was in a tight spot still needing the work to be completed by someone RCF and I agreed to split the difference (my own fault) of what he was asking which was around $650 in addition to the $3000 that had already been given. So my bill was now at $3650. Thankfully, payment for the job was never given in a lump sum. RCF would work a little then ask for partial payment here and there. Payment was always on time and the exact amount requested. At times there were breaches of professional etiquette where things would turn slightly heated and /or argumentative. Soon after RCF would apologize and carry on with his work. I chalked this up to sour grapes over an inaccurate bid on what turned out to be a difficult job that was taking longer than he wanted and /or anticipated. Once the job was labeled and quot;completeand quot; RCF mentioned that he would return to finish up a few things. It was at this point that he requested $1110 of the final $1310 he was owed for the job. Our bill increased further when he had to go back and drywall certain areas in our hallway around some pocket doors where he anticipated moulding trim would go. Again, I expressed hesitance in giving the $1110 as there were some issues I had with some of the work that was left done/undone. We shook hands, I paid him the $1110 (my own fault) and I took RCF at his word that he would return to complete the job. As minor collateral he left some of his tools at my residence which he promptly took back with him when he came back on a day soon thereafter. I was working the day he came and therefore unable to see what he had come back to do and ultimately leave and quot;unfinishedand quot; in my opinion. When I called him to return to finish the and quot;touch upand quot; work he explained that he waited two weeks for me to call him and that he was now somewhere for 3 more weeks doing a job and that he would call me when he came back in late November. I did not want to get into what I was displeased with over the phone for fear that he would not return for the remaining $200 I owed him for and quot;touch upand quot; work that was much more than just that in my opinion. For example, when painting and texturing, 3/4 of my outlets and none of my windows (including the white vinyl around the glass) were taped. I'm still tediously trimming paint off my window frames. When cutting out holes in the drywall for my outlets, the outside border of the electrical box was cut as opposed to the inside leaving too large of a hole for most of my outlet covers to hide. He fixed some of them after the fact. Because of this most of the outlets protrude awkwardly and uneven past the outlet plate. Some of the outlet plates are not flush with the wall and you see a noticeable gap between the wall and the plate itself. All of the outlets in my kitchen got zipped/scratched/knicked up with their Rotozip tool and now those have to be replaced. When taping/mudding drywall screws/holes he only did the ones he deemed necessary where he thought there wouldn't be casing, trim, or baseboards. He basically made our decision for us because at that point we had to put trim to cover what he chose not to do initially. RCF kept his word and touched base with me in late November upon his return to town. We squared up a time to meet. When he arrived I shared my concerns with him over all of the issues alluded to above. They were met with senseless excuses and unprofessionalism to say the least. He threatened to walk out before apologizing for reacting the way he did and offered to fix his mistakes without charging me the final $200. RCF stayed for 4 hours like he promised and essentially made his original mistakes (the ones explained in detail above) look only slightly less obvious and shoddy. Nothing changes the fact that just a little extra time and effort to do a good job to prevent senseless errors from happening would go a long way. I understand that people make mistakes and noone is perfect but what I cannot accept is laziness over preventing a costly error from happening when it had an easy fix to begin with. When a job is done someone has to live there and look at the finished work for however long they live there. I expect the house to be treated as though the worker is the one that is going to live in it. What was supposed to be a $3000, 1.5 week job turned into $4100 and nearly 11 weeks as work commenced on November 24. To be fair, Nov 24 could have happened 3 weeks earlier so you could say 8 weeks. In summary, RCF gave a great price at time of estimate that turned into a price I could have had from the beginning with another company and perhaps without the headaches that ensued. A mediocre product was delivered at best as we had to fix most of the errors after the fact. Errors that will cost us more money in the long run. In spite of their attempts to right the wrongs and the and quot;little extrasand quot; we were given, there is no way I can recommend RCF as the extra money and more importantly, time, we had to spend repairing what was needed only added to the $1100 over-our-budget price tag. I realize this and quot;how'd it go?and quot; section was quite lengthy and hardly anyone will likely read this. I did my best to be as fair and truthful as possible. It is not my intention to damage anyone's reputation. Only to assist in preventing the same thing from happening to someone else. Update* 02/01/14...My wall plate covers still do not fit or look right. My 4 gang electrical box protrudes from the wall in such a way that I cannot fit the cover on the wall appropriately. Again, this occurred due to too big of a hole being cut out of the drywall for the box and the cutout being done on the outside of the box as opposed to inside. Not sure what and quot;fixand quot; i'll have to come up with to solve this other than another round of mud and more floating

He had to take my ceiling fan down 6 times to get it right and he did not charge anything for that. He did close to $3000 worth of work and charged me under $1000. Then he told me as a personal favor if I did not have enough money for the odd jobs at that time he said I did not have to pay him all at one time. Out of all of the contractors I have been around with my father, he is probably one of the best. He does not do anything half way. He will go anywhere in the state of Florida to do what needs to be done. He will do all of your estimates before he even starts. If you need him to run to home depot or Lowe's he will get the parts upon request.
Description of Work: He is state licensed and insured and he gives free estimates. He has references available on request. He came to our home through and Angie's List person. I was a little skeptical at first but I had gone through my insurance company. The person that we picked from Angie's List said that he was all booked up but that we could use someone he knew of. The insurance adjuster and Read spoke over the phone about what I needed. He wrote a letter and included how long it would take, what he would replace things with. He did everything through the adjuster just as how it was supposed to be done. After I paid him through the homeowners insurance, I had him do some additional things. It looks like a brand new condo. He does paint: exterior and interior, and laminate floors.
