They didn't follow the terms of the contract. They said that they were going to remove all the electrical switchplates, doorknobs, etc. They did not do that. We searched consumer reports and found that the most highly rated paint was Behr Premium Plus Ultra Latex White Paint, and they kept harping on Benjamin Moore, and told us that our paint was "crap." They said it didn't cover well, and as far as we're concerned, it did. Our husband and I had painted the house before, and they told us that we had used oil paint even though we told them repeatedly that we hadn't, which, in effect, meant that they called my husband a liar. They didn't finish a door, and there are drip marks all over the house. When they washed their paintbrushes outside, they didn't wash the grass afterwards, leaving us with pink, white and blue grass. There was no post-painting inspection, and the owner told us not to "nitpick" so that he could make payroll. We assumed that he needed to rush off to the bank with his check so that he could pay his workers. The only good thing was that he was punctual; at least he was there on time. He had originally told us that the painting would be completed on May 18th, and not to worry about cleaning the garage out for them. They suddenly called us to say that they would be there the next day, so we had to rush to clean the garage out in a single night, which was quite a task. The paint looks thin, as if it was just one coat. He was also very nosy, and asked inappropriate questions about our whereabouts and our religion.
Description of Work: They performed interior painting of my home.

Response from Property Management By Jim Boineau
This is a response to their concerns. All the electrical plates were removed except where cable tv and wall phones plug in, as most all paint companys do not remove these plates due to the sensitivity of the lines behind the plates all regular plugins where removed. We left two door knobs on due to the fact they were concerned about which way the locks are facing, due to a in home security issue. Did not want to take a chance of putting them back on properly. They were very adamant about Behr Premium Plus and we did use what they had asked us to, where there was a color change the paint covered as we two coated it. Had we not have done that the cut line would have been a picture frame appearence. The original quote was for one finish coat on the white through out the rest of the house, in these areas the paint just did not cover as good as it should and considering the paint is a prime and paint all in one stated in there advertisements it should have no problem doing so after all it was white over white. We used a different paint in the garage where there were marks all over the walls and it covered nicely in one coat. The paint might be rated highly in certain publications but I certainly don't know how or who measures the results. We could not get the latex paint to cover two doors in the master bedroom bath and thought they might have been painted with oil previously, after a light wash with denatured alcohol the paint took to the door, no one called anyone a liar we simply were looking for a reason why paint wasn't covering. We used drop clothes in every area of the house, there were some drip marks in the master bath but they were there when we started, we made sure after that we brought to there attention every little detail where there was over paint or drops from previous painting. I even asked the home owner to look above the kitchen cabinets as well as down the side of the same cabinets for drops and over paint prior to us even starting in that area. The wash up did leave a paint circle in the grass even though we wet it first and after clean up, which will be gone in several weeks. As far a being nosy about religion a conversation about politics and religion did come up and where one of the parties mentioned that there were two different in the house hold. No one asked what there religion was as it has nothing to do with painting. I even found myself deffending the person that had just painted the exterior of the house as they were complaining about his work which I thought looked pretty good and I don't even know the person. I regret they have the feelings they do, but we conducted ourselves in a professional manner just look at the other responses on Angies list, we are the same people that worked for those folks. I wish them all the best.

From start to finish, Jim and his crew acted in a very professional manor always being careful about the work being done and my wishes. All along the way I was included to guarantee the job was done in the fashion I wanted, but frankly they met and exceeded my expectations every day. I was especially appreciative of their attention to every little detail and the fact they left my house in a livable condition at the end of the day - there never was a mess to navigate. The job was done on schedule and at a fair competitive cost to me. In fact, I can not imagine what could have gone any better than it did. These people are the paint contractors that set the "gold" standard here on the Gold Coast. You would be doing yourself a disservice if you did not consider them for your job, large or small.
Description of Work: Both the entire inside and outside of my house was painted including the ceilings and all trim.

I could not be any happier in the results of the work Jim and his guys performed. I knew I had made the right choice when he said the paint he recommends and uses is Benjamin Moore Paints. When I received his proposal it described in detail exactly what work was to be performed nothing was left out. They simply do not cut corners there preparation spoke volumes even before they started the painting. Very neat, clean and most of all dependable. They showed up when they said they would be here and finished in a timely manner. I would not hesitate to recommend Jim to anyone. As a widowed female its hard to find someone with whom you feel you can trust, Jim just has a way to remove any doubt that you had made the right choice. He supplied me with a list of previous clients for which he had done painting for and after calling only one I elected to use his services.
Description of Work: Painting of the exterior of my home. To include front, rear and garage door.
