FLORIDA SHUTTERS

Awful. Salesman came out to give a quote as I tried several companies to get best price. After all companies came and gave their quotes, I contacted Fl Shutters as they were the least expensive and wanted to start the process. I was willing to put 50% down on a bill approaching $8k. When talking to the salesman, their records did not jive with my signed quote. He had to come out a second time. Then after his second visit he said the wait time is approaching 30 weeks for installation, that's over 7 months taking us dangerously close to the next hurricane season in June. I told him that 24-30 weeks is a long tine, he said "you gotta do what you gotta do", so I told him I was going with another company which is more expensive but faster installation time by almost 4 months. Two days later, he emails me saying that if the company was more expensive then he made another mistake as they are "always the most expensive shutter company in the area". Then he went on a diatribe of several paragraphs as to his selling history, the quality of his service, etc. He blamed his errors on a misunderstanding that someone told him I wanted, however I met with him and told him exactly what was needed. The other 3 companies had no issue with quotes, just Fl Shutters and then he either lied about it or is completely incapable of getting these jobs straight, one or the other. I believe it is best to allow Fl Shutters to wallow in their high prices and, in their mind, superior product and go with someone who knows what they are doing. If I went with them, who knows what the finished product would be like and who knows when I would get it. Probably after the next hurricane.

Very professional throughout from initial estimate to installation and follow up on some minor punch list items. Showed me how to service and work all different accordions and storm bars. Even left me some silicone spray for future servicing.

When we went to the showroom with the owner, there was no pressure to get everything installed at once. They don't use subcontractors, they have a service facility, and they make them on the premises.

I was told that the only way I could find that out was to schedule and pay for a $125 estimate fee. I then called another company, Kruger, was told that someone would be by shortly to look at the screws in question. He showed up within an hour, at no charge, looked at the screws, got a battery powered drill, removed one and told me that if they all (33 of them) came out as easily he would remove them for the service call charge of $85. which he proceeded to do within a short time. I just wonder how much more than the $125 estimate I would have been charged by Florida Shutters to actually do the removal

From start to finish, they were very professional and accommodating of our request for evening or lunch time appoints. The owner, Thomas Pease, came to our home in the evening and took all the measurements and within two days we had a written estimate with individual costs per window for both accordian and panel shutters so we could decide which to go with. After comparing them with others based on price, Angies List and BBB reports, we decided to accept their bid. Shortly thereafter, their engineer came to take final measurements and the manufacture of our shutters was scheduled. All the shutters were all installed in two days - one pair of accordian shutters didn't fit properly, but they were quickly refitted at their factory and reinstalled.

Excellent! Excellent service the year after the original installation to re install balcony shutters closer to railings. Got the permit from Indian River County without problem. They worked with us over the phone from our out of state home. Can't say enough good things about this company.

We are pleased with the results. We did have a problem passing the inspection by the city (Sebastian), so Florida Shutters had to come out again. They had not designed a plan that met the city s requirements of two emergency egresses. We were very pleased, though, that they made the necessary changes to meet the requirements (although it took two more tries). It required installing a more costly shutter on one window. They did not charge us for the additional cost and kept to their estimated price.
