They told me they don't do residential work for existing homes only new construction however the person who gave me name of this company said they had done work for them.
Description of Work: I called the provider for a quote. I am remodeling and needed several new circuits installed and bringing house electrical up to current code.

We just moved into a new house in Foley, AL. Richardson did the electric work so when we had a GFI that kept blowing we thought we had an electrical problem. Turns out it was the fridge that was blowing it. But, that is why Richardson was called in the first place. When he was here for that, I asked about changing out the chandelier and he said he could do that. He thought he had to block the space because my chandelier was a good bit heavier so he quoted a price based on that. Turns out he did not have to do that particular work but I had added a bunch of other stuff so they just added an extra $25 to the original cost of $175.00 I had to change the appointment a couple of times (on my part) but when we got the final one set up he was punctual, professional,, and very knowledgeable. John did our particular work and I highly recommend him. All the employees are probably good but I think John is excellent and if I needed work done again, I would request him. He was very pleasant and has very good taste. He helped me with a couple of extra little things also. I would highly recommend this company and John in particular.
Description of Work: He added a dedicated plug in the garage. He changed out a chandelier in the dining room, adding a medallion and a much heavier chandelier. The room has a 14 foot ceiling. He changed out the entrance hall fixture and breakfast room fixtures, He did a few extra things also, like helping me get the sleeves on the chandelier lights the same size,

Found them mildly incompetant with sub standard work...definitely a below average installation. I attribute it to a significant lack of "attention to detail". Hmmmm. It starts with 3 newly installed ceiling fans not working at all. Hmmm. Wouldn't you think to check them after hanging them? They did return to correctly wire them in. Furthermore, some of the ceiling fan light fixtures did not have their light assemblys installed. Found these on a closet shelf. They returned and installed them. Ok, these were not really a big deal. Kinda expect these issues with a newly constructed house. So here is my rub. They were contracted to connect my "house emergency generator" to the electrical breaker panel via a transfer switch that fires up the generator when a power failure occurs. They tried and tried and tried....but they could never get the county electrical inspector to pass their work. This ongoing snafoo delayed completion of my home construction. Also remember, they were contracted to complete that job. Finally an employee admitted that they were not trained in that line of electrical installation. As well, recall that they accepted that bid to do that installation. Well...in order to get that transfer switch installed, I was out of pocket $1200.00. In my estimation, Richardson owes me that money...tho I'll never see it. I would definitely pass them by. They can't seem to get the job right first time. I am a bit resentful towards them at Richardson, tho I never ever complained to Keith (the owner)....just wanted my house done.
Description of Work: Richardson Electric was subbed out by my very fine contractor...Wiring, lights, appliances, fans and soforth. They were also contracted to connect the transfer switch from my home generator to the breaker panel.
