These guys are working maniacs! They wasted no time dropping the trees (and several were very tall), chipping up all the branches and trunks and grinding out the stumps. They then racked the entire yard and blew the driveway clean. Except for a few missing trees, you would never know that these guys were even here. They were very friendly, professional and obviously know what they're doing. They have the personnel and the equipment to get the job done efficiently and to the customer's satisfaction. A+++++

We had four companies come and give us bids, Kodiak was the most professional and priced very well. They brought an entire crew, about 8, and knocked it out in a half day. We didn't want to pay to have the stumps removed and this company was the only one that would bid it out in this way; they were also the only company that bid it out with a full crew. It went very fast, the workers were very professional, and they cleaned up when they left. I will definitely call them again when the need arises.

They brought a crew of about 8 to do the work. They made sure to remove all branches and leaves that fell on my yard and the neighbors yard. They didn't drag any of the fallen branches or limbs across my yard. They made sure to pick them up and carry them or use a dolly to move them to their wood chipper.

I am delighted with the work they did! We had several oaks and olive trees in a tight space that needed to be removed. Ben Smith, owner, promptly showed up for estimate. Manner was pleasant and professional. I emailed him a few days later approving the job. He was booked about a two and a lhalf weeks ahead and scheduled me for the morning of 31 July 2014. That afternoon, when nobody had showed up, I called his office asking what was going on. The office person called me back (with excuses) and said that he would have to move the appointment to the afternoon of 5 August. So, late in the afternoon of 5 August when no one had showed up, my wife called Kodiak and asked where they were. Excuses were given, my wife expressed her displeasure and we were rescheduled for the afternoon of 6 August. About 2:00 pm on 6 August, one of the crew called and said they wouldn't be able to make it. I told him to forget about it, that the job was cancelled. From the other reviews on AngiesList, I assume that my experience was not the norm for Kodiak Tree Service. That's part of the reason I hired them. And I understand how things can happen and schedules can go awry. But I also understand customer service. Repeated no shows, particularly without any notice, are not something I am willing to accept.

The work was started and completed on the scheduled date, at the agreed upon price. Clean-up after the job was very good. Quote for the work was a negotiated price to reduce damage to the fairly new front lawn by moving logs to chipper without heavy motorized equipment. This plan was followed, except the assistant team leader (team leader not present) decided they needed to use a motorized and quot;liftand quot; for the tree in front, which left four ruts about four inches deep in the front lawn. Not sure if the front lawn will ever recover without rework.

Contacted Adam for an estimate to remove the tree and grind the stump.i was quoted a great price and he squeezed me in on an earlier date to perform the service. Crew showed up at time promised and after the tree was down you would never be able to tell there was a tree there. Very professional workers and they took great care not to damage my landscape plants. Highly Recommend this company!

I have only positive things to say about this company. They worked on our trees for 2 whole days, from morning to late afternoon. We had 6 guys out here working consistently. They had this down to a fine art with great team work. They were all very polite and punctual. We added a few more trees to the job while they were here and they were more than willing to work with us. We were a little concerned about getting heavy equipment in here to get the job done. However, they didn't need any of it. They had a great climber who cut, tied and lowered the pieces for removal . Like I said before, they were a great team. As far as the cost goes, we checked around and we found them to be the most reasonable. We also plan to use Kodiak again in the Fall .

Adam showed up to pave the way for the other workers coming behind. In less than 30 minutes he had moved some items making room for the stump grinder coming in. He climbed the tree, took off the limbs all the way to the top. Then he began cutting the tree down from the top probably a 30 foot tree, in sections. This was all done on his own within that 30 minutes. It was pretty remarkable to watch. Then the three other workers came and helped with the rest. They worked hard as well. They carried the limbs and tree sections out to their large truck. They brought in the stump grinder. Within just a few minutes you couldn't tell a tree had ever been there. They cleaned all debris and raked up everything else. All of this was done in less than one hour and a half about. And the price was great. I was very impressed with the office workers I spoke with also. This is a very professional company and to go with anyone else would not be a good idea. I will use them in the future and recommend them very highly. I tipped them all for their fast efficient work.

Rec'd 40 yards of dyed (brown) mulch on 3/14/14. Rec'd 20 more yards on 3/21/14 and noticed how much first 2 loads had faded. Dyed material is about $10.00 per cu. yd. more than natural mulch and within a week the dyed material looks just like the natural material. Called to complain and was told the owner would call me which never happened. Ordering from someone else now!

The provider was super professional: responded to our phone call quickly, provided an accurate and fair estimate - then showed up on time, and had 7 people with all the right equipment to do an amazing job! The team worked hard even in the heat to remove/trim 6 huge trees that were threatening our house. Can't praise their service enough, and can certainly sleep better in a storm now. We learned a lot and were inspired by how hard the team worked. THANKS!

They did a great job chopping down the trees. They did not do such a great job of grinding the stumps which they said they were doing. I would consider using them again.

Kodiak did an excellent job. The crew arrived as promised and they were were very fast and efficient. The yard was left completely clean. They did a great job of cutting and removing the pine from the and quot;jungleand quot; of vines.

Prior to the crew’s arrival, I had flagged all of the trees to be removed with orange surveyor’s tape to ensure only the “right” trees were removed. A large crew (7 or 8 men) arrived on time and got right to work. They had to cut their way into my yard starting with two live oak trees extending over my driveway. They then moved into the back yard working their way from one end to the other. Because of the location of the trees and their proximity to other trees (which were not being removed) they had to climb the trees and remove the limbs in pieces before tackling the trunks. (All but one were laurel oaks with about half being 40 feet tall or more.) Limbs were hauled out to the chipper as fast as they were cut off. As trees were removed, the crew began grinding out the stumps. The entire job of removing 15 trees and grinding the stumps/exposed roots was completed (including clean up) in about 7 hours which I thought was very fast. (Other companies had estimated 2-3 days for the entire job.) I recommend this company. Everything went great. In hindsight, I wish I’d inquired about whether it was possible for them to cut the trunks into fireplace-sized lengths for my fireplace rather than grinding up all of that oak wood and taking it to a landfill.

Kodiak was on time with 7 men to perform the work, all were very coordinated, each knowing exactly what they needed to be doing. They completely removed a large tree from our yard and were off the property in about an hour

Fanatstic work, including the clean up. Just a great job on everything. Almost worth the price just to watch the show. Whatever they're paying the guy who climbs the tree....it ain't enough!

During the initial trimming of the tree, only about 50% of the deadwood was removed. Adam said they did not have the right equipment to finish the job and they would have to come back in the spring to do more work on the new and quot;shootsand quot;, so he said the job would be completed then. When I called to see what the status was on this job being finished, Adam denied ever making such a comment and claimed that the job had been completed in full. I have photos of the tree which clearly show this is not true.Adam became very odd on the phone and then followed up with the letter left on the floor of my front porch. The tree now appears to be dead with the exception of new shoots coming up from the bottom of the trunk. I do feel that Ben would not have allowed this situation to happen, but if his employees prevent a customer from speaking to him, then I do not feel that he has the control of his company. I am very disappointed as I thought I had found a dependable and trustworthy company to take care of my trees. I will try to post photos here to show the stages of my tree in their and quot;careand quot; which will leave no questions. I am now looking for a truly dependable company to finish the job that these people not only started, but also caused further damage to my tree. And for a company with employees who act professional.

I was not able to be there for the actual work and they came back several times to make sure the job was done right. They also repaired a few minor itmes that had been accidentally damaged in this mammoth undertaking.
