Cost: detailed project costing in the original quote and clear cost tracking per work accomplished. The overall cost is certainly fair (although it was not the lowest among all the bidders). We chose to go with R.E. Robinson based on the transparency of the cost breakdown and the quality of the overall professional discussion regarding the requested remodeling project. Schedule and work etiquette: the project was well-planned (virtually no downtime besides the one requested when we were away for two weeks) and the work was performed on time or ahead of schedule. The schedule was easily adjusted to accommodate homeowner's needs. Areas not affected by remodeling were always protected and the work area was always cleaned at the end of each day. The final product: the remodeled house certainly meets and often exceeds our expectations. The excellent team of subcontractors has delivered the truly top-notch craftsmanship. It has been a pleasure to know all these people. Project management: Randy Robinson has been very helpful in guiding through the entire end-to-end remodeling process and provided clear explanations of all technical aspects (he certainly knows first hand what he manages). He has been easily accessible via phone/email and often on site to check the status of the work. Our requests for changes in the scope of the project arising during the already ongoing remodeling were quickly costed and seamlessly integrated into the overall schedule. Randy is very professional, friendly, and a great pleasure to have business with (or just to chat for that matter). Any problems? Nothing worth writing about. Small hiccups are inevitable in all projects---in this case, they all (actually very few to our surprise) have been quickly addressed to our full satisfaction.
