3pm rolls around...he's a no show. I waited until 3:30 and then gave him a call. He said he was still 30 minutes away...he didn't get there until 4:45!!!! When he pulled up (with some girl and 2 friends hanging out in the back of his truck!!) I felt like I was on an episode of P***'d or candid camera. He wasn't the slightest bit apologetic about being an hour and 45 minutes late. All he said was "hey, sorry I'm late, so where do you need this repair done"...didn't give any eye contact or any sincerity...just looked over at the house for where the repair was. I said to him as we were walking over to the side of the house "You know we use Angie's List specifically so we don't have to deal with problems like this..." Hoping that he would offer me some reassurance in his work, maybe a sincere apology, or even a discount. Here is the part that I'm still in shock with: His response was "OH...SO I GUESS WE ALREADY HAVE A PROBLEM THEN, HUH?? I DON'T HAVE TO DEAL WITH THIS S***! He then turned around got in his car and drove off!!!! I was in shock and furious at the same time. DO NOT HIRE THIS GUY!!!!!!!! ABSOLUTELY CRAZY, UNPROFESSIONAL, AND EXTREMELY TARDY TO SAY THE LEAST!!!

Paul and his assistant came over, looked at the leak around our skylight from both outside and in the attic, and indicated he could fix the problem for $450, which was in the same price range two others had provided, but I liked his and his assistants general dispositions, so I gave them the job. Paul insisted that he wouldn't need to replace the skylight as he had found the leak and could take care of it. He was up on the roof for about an hour, removed a few shingles added some sealant around the skylight and said it was done. Once he was done, he did some patch work on the ceiling, which I did not expect, but left me feeling good about the work. After the next rain, it was quite obvious he did not find the right leak at which point we called him back out. This time, he indicated that he would need to replace the eve vent, which would set me back another $250, which I agreed to allow him to do. After another hour or so on the roof, he once again called it complete. After the next rain, he started replying to our text as to indicate he would return, but he never did. My calls were sent to voicemail and my text went unanswered. My wife texted him from her number, minutes after I inquired about his return with no answer, and he answered immediately asking what work she needed done, so I know his phone works, he choose not to answer. He texted back and forth with my wife (would not get on a call with her) and promised he would. A week would pass with no answer to either of us, when he did reply, he indicated he had been in the hospital and woudl come back out as soon as he was back on his feet, which he has yet to do months later. I would not recommend this guy as he seems to know the basics of a lot of handyman jobs, but he is far from knowledgeable about roofs or leaks.
