TOMMY RYDER AIR CONDITIONING

Tommy (the owner) arrived on-time. Prior to his arrival I had diagnosed the problem, taken and sent pictures, and had removed the blower fan assembly from the HVAC unit. When Tommy arrived, I showed him the issue and proposed that all we needed to do was put a lock nut on the end of the screw which had come loose. Tommy found and installed a lock nut on the loose motor mount, and then per my request, installed a second lock nut on another mount screw that was starting to become loose. He then re-installed the blower assembly (45 second job) back into the HVAC unit. All told, the service visit took about 15-20 minutes and the total parts were 2 lock nuts. For that I was charged a $60 service call charge, and an $80 labor charge (even though I did 90% of the work myself prior to him arriving). I told Tommy that I felt the price was excessive, that I felt ripped off, and that I would not be doing business with him when it comes time to replace the existing AC/Heating system (the system is now 10 years old). $145 to screw on two lock nuts (using my tools) is simply too much to charge IMHO, hence the negative review. Note: At no time when speaking with their scheduler/dispatcher were the rates disclosed to me. If they had been, I would not have scheduled the service call. I guess I should have been smart enough to ask.. so I'll take responsibility for not asking before committing to the service call..

beyond awful

I called Tommy Ryder Air Conditioning 321 631-2323, the morning of August 16, 2013 for an estimate for a split air conditioner. Tommy came out that afternoon and gave me a verbal estimate. That evening I received a written estimate via email. On Wednesday, August 21, 2013, Mark arrived to remove the old unit, fill in the hole, patch the drywall and patch the stucco on the outside wall. Mark did an excellent job. Tuesday, August 27, 2013, Tommy and Mark arrived to install the split. The install was completed in a few hours. Tommy is a seasoned professional, I would not hesitate recommending Tommy Ryder.
