The process of coming to do the work at the onset of construction was fine. The work was done in what seemed to be a timely and efficient manner. The problems arose after they left and we moved into our house. We had two units. One was 4 ton and one was 2 ton. We could not get the house cold no matter what we did or how low we turned the units. We constantly had people over to our house that noticed and made comments. We called them out after four months and they checked the temps coming out of the vents and they were "fine" they said. At one point they had me believing that we were just going crazy. We waited a few more months until it was summer time and we called them again for the same problem. At this point they sent out a manager from the company and he personally inspected our system for over an hour. He was in our attic looking at the junctions and connections and he came down and said that he was very upset. He found several spots where there were substantial leaks in the junctions and he could see they did not seal the joints. He could see insulation being blown away from those areas. He also said that this is probably part of the problem but also the insulation and lighting probably had something to do with it. He referenced all of our windows and lights in the house having an impact. We have double pane, insulated, impact windows throughout and had R-30 insulation over the entire house. 95% of my lights are LED (no heat). I had a hard time believing that was the problem. I asked him about the humidity. We measured the humidity to be at 60% plus on most sunny days with the windows and doors closed. I checked my office for two weeks and measured sub 50% most all the time and I could make that cold on the hottest days. The manager said he would send out the technicians to do at least a full days worth of work redoing duct work, changing out kinked ducts and repairing joints and that would make a big difference. He said they would be out in a week or less and expect them to be here for one full day or a day and a half with all of the work he said needed to be done. Well after two weeks, I called to complain that nobody showed up. Eventually, after more than three weeks, two guys showed up and spent 2-3 hours at our house and left. Said the fixed everything "that needed to be fixed". Needless to say, that didn't fix the problem. I waited a few weeks to see if it helped but it didn't. I then started to notice that there was black mold starting to form on the outside duct work at various locations in my garage. I also noticed there were holes where they punctured the duct to check temps coming out of the unit. I called them back out and when they showed up they checked the temps at the vents and told me that everything checked out. I asked about he mold and was told that this is FL and due to the high humidity that this was not unusual. They said it was algae and not mold. We waited a while longer and then finally told our contractor that if he didn't get something done we were at the point of filing a lawsuit against him and the A/C company. He came out and saw the black mold that was growing. That got their attention and they finally said they were going to send a manufacturer rep out to see if he had any idea and beyond that there was nothing left to do. The manufacturer rep showed up and within ten minutes he knew what the problem was. My system had a manufacturer supplied digital, wifi thermostat that came with the unit. It has a special algorithm that works specifically with that brand. He asked us why we had an aftermarket thermostat on there and not the one that came with the unit. My response was that is what they put on there. I am only left to speculate that my factory thermostat was installed somewhere else in order to make additional money or save money on my job by not installing/ selling it with the package. Truth is there is no reason it wasn't there that I can think of. I never got a reason from anyone at Britt's as to why it wasn't installed. The aftermarket thermostat could not communicate with the unit correctly to control humidity and in fact that humidity was the problem. I asked about that thermostat from the day they installed the unit and on each call to the company. I was impressed with the brochure on the thermostat when I was given the bid package. It was large and had humidity control, current weather and forecast and was wifi capable. It's like expecting to get a 4-k 50" television and opening the box and they delivered a black and white 27" CRT monitor. Each time I asked they told me that I got the best unit and actually the manager that installed them told me to my face that they "upgraded" me to a wifi thermostat since I got the Cadillac unit. Think about that for a minute. Now that we have fixed that it was time to address the mold issue. Believe me, it was BLACK MOLD. I have lived her 40 years and never seen this before and especially on a NEW unit. I eventually called and demanded that I speak to the owner of the company. He was very nice on the phone and said all the things I wanted to hear. He did come out personally within a few days and look at the unit. He apologized for all of our headaches and assured me that what I saw was not normal and that they would replace the entire duct work coming off the units. They showed up two weeks later and did exactly as they said. Replaced at no charge (should not have been) all of the duct work that had mold on it. I'm happy to say that since time we have not had an issue. I appreciate them "FINALLY" fixing and replacing the problems with my new A/C units but it was a nightmare getting there. Imagine your significant other hounding you constantly about this for over a year and meantime you are doing everything you can to get it addressed with the company you spent all of that money with to no avail. Based on that, I would not recommend them to anyone. Not worth going through all of that trouble.

Britt's has always been quick for service, not much waiting for appointments. They are on the higher end of cost for A/C repairs and installations but they do provide pretty good service, good solid B+ company. And they've been around for awhile too, which provides some comfort that they're not going to disappear on you after service.

I called Britt's at 8:00 p.m. on a Sunday night, not really thinking I could someone out here at that time to fix my a/c. Lo and behold, after explaining what my problem was, the technician, Lisa, was here in less than a half hour. She was courteous, friendly and knowledgeable, and went to work with a smile on her face. Very pleased with the promptness and professionalism of the people at Britt's.

I want to thank rocky for his honesty because had a person here at my house told me it needed to be replaced I am so glad your company took the time to check it all out and was able to save me a lot of money instead of presurring me in buying a new one again thank you for being honest and a good worker

We had bought our place earlier this year and although our a/c heat was working, it was making loud noises while running. Britt's made the service call, and while inspecting, found several problems. This unit was 24 yrs. old and had not been serviced. The techs name was Osman. He explained what we had. It appeared to me that rust was the only thing holding it together. We had the option of a temporary fix or replacing the unit. Britt,s gave us a good price on a new unit installed. We had a new one in mind after we moved in. The day after the service call, they replaced our ac/heat unit. The installer was Rocky, and He was very knowledgeable. We have peace of mind that this unit will work for many years.

Technician showed up on time. He had a rough time due to where the old water heater was. He knew just what he was doing and replaced the new water heater in a timely manner. I would definitely hire them again.

Found Britt on AL. Emailed him. He called within an hour. Britt was very responsive, timely and did a wonderful job. Highly recommend him.

I called every A/C company in the book, and Tom Britt said he would be at my house in 20 minutes. And he was! As a mother of 2 small children, I was devistated that I would have to have all of this done. I was assured that it would take no more than 1 day, and that it would be done right. I couldn't be more pleased with the service, and the eagerness to do a FANTASTIC job. Thank you so much for what your company did for my little family. :)

I solicited 3 quotes from 3 contractors, including Mr. Britt. I met with each one of them, all looked at my old system, then came back with a written estimate. Aside from the fact that he is the only one who can tell how many tons my old unit was, he also came as the lowest bidder with the higher efficiency rating for his brand. I did my research before I talked to each one of them so I already have a ball park figure and the requirements for the amount of space I have. It was obvious he knew airconditioning and he knew his product so it was a no-brainer that I had to award it to him.

The service calls went well, on time and lower than the intial estiamte. The pricing was very good and reasonable considering the extent of the service required.

My wife reports that the Technician was early, came back at appointment time when asked to, very professional, explained reason for "roaring noise" when dryer was running. It turned out that the booster fan was disconnected from dry vent exhaust tubing. Removed, cleaned and replaced booster fan and thoroughly cleaned very clogged dryer exhaust tubing. Also came to clean household ventilation system but did not because system was not in need of cleaning.

Technician showed up early, returned at appointment time when asked to, found that the duct work did not need to be cleaned, accomplished other task for which he was sent(dryer vent cleaning), did not charge for ductwork assessment.
