We contacted four Angie's list A-rated providers for estimates. We scheduled three companies to come to our home to assess the job and provide estimates. The fourth provider did not respond to our phone message. Although all three sales people were very courteous, friendly and knowledgeable, we felt that Mossy Oak fence provided the most thorough presentation, including bringing a mock up of their gate to show us. The salesman, Clark, answered all of our questions about materials, time-frames, installation techniques, etc. to our satisfaction and gave us the feeling that we would be in good hands if we selected Mossy Oak. The price estimates for all three providers were within $200 of each other, with Mossy Oak falling in the middle. We selected Mossy Oak because they used a wet cement mix to anchor the posts and because they were offering a discount for Angie's List members. Mossy Oak's office staff was also cooperative and helpful in scheduling the installation, as we had family visiting and we did not want to have our plans interupted by a fence install. Unfortunately, our experience with the actual installation did not live up to our expectations. The installation crew showed up early. So far, so good. Unfortunately, they had a flat tire on one of their wheelbarrows, so they spent about 30 minutes getting it inflated, after which they began to install the fence. The fence itself was done very well. The posts were plumb and the top of the fence followed the contour of the property nicely. The problems occurred with the two front sections of fence, which included the two gates. Because the ground sloped away from the house, the gates had to be constructed on-site to fit the slope. The gate construction was unsatisfactory, with multiple extra holes drilled in one of the gates where the hinge attached, a gap cut in the post above the center rail of the other gate and the use of several different sizes of bugle-head screws that left the gates looking very unprofessional. There was also no cross bracing on the gate to prevent it from sagging. In addition, four pieces of U-channel, which were supposed to be installed over the pickets at each post, were left out at the end posts of the two front fence sections. When digging the post holes, the crew piled the soil by each post and did not protect the grass with tarps or plastic sheeting. After borrowing our rake, one crew member did a pretty good job cleaning up the soil from about half of the posts, but the other half were left with a half-inch deep, 12-18 inch diameter semi-circle of soil and clay lying on the grass. Maybe I'm being overly picky, but I spent about 2 1/2 hours raking up and removing the excess soil the following day. Had I not done so, the grass underneath the soil would probably have died. We contacted Mossy Oak's office staff and described the issues we had with the construction of the gates and about the missing pieces of U-channel. They requested that we email them photos, which we did. A few days later, we were contacted by the person I had spoken with and were told that, based upon the photos, they also found the construction of the gates to be unacceptable and that they would send someone out. We were not at home when someone came out and replaced the post that had the gap, but nothing was done about the missing U-channel, the bugle-head screws or the extra holes at the gate hinge. After contacting them again, Mossy Oak again sent someone out who rebuilt the gate with the extra screwholes, replaced all of the bugle-head screws with a more acceptable and unobtrusive type of screw and added cross bracing to both gates. However, we never received an answer about the missing U-channel. Based on Mossy Oak Fence's Angie's List reviews and ratings, we expected an A+ experience. Although everyone we had contact with at Mossy Oak fence, including the installation crew, was very pleasant, and the fence and the gates now look good, the hassle of dealing with the gate problems and the missing U-channel, made for a less than satisfying experience.

There was a bit of a wait for the job after contract was sent in and then it was delayed due to weather but finally the day came and the fence was installed, I was a bit perturbed because the permit was denied and then remained hanging on the wall looking wet and ugly for two months. After several calls to the city and the company another inspection was done and I could remove the permit FINALLY> On the good side the company came out and worked on the gate's latch which I had complained was too difficult to open and then weeks later came back and removed wood from the gate after a new stone path was added. They didn't need to do that but I appreciated it very much. Also they honored a discount for Angie's members !

As our prior record would indicate, Mossy Oak Fence does everything in it's power to promptly respond to every inquiry. Based on the member's comments it looks as though we tried to reach him on two occasions without a return phone call which is unfortunate considering our stellar record with Angie's List members by providing high quality fencing and customer service to everyone. We do however continue to improve our systems and procedures to provide the highest level of service to all of our prior, existing and future clients.

Tney arrived and began working on the gate immediately and came and got me to check the gaps between gate and fence. I requested that it would be narrower and they made sugestions and we decided together what would be the best option. Then the latch was too large that would make a significant gap, The suggestion was to remove the latch and with the pole lock in the ground would be enough especially since I use a chain and lock to secure the gate. Several times the person was very polite and was interested in satisfying me.
Description of Work: Needed to replace the driveway gate. The sales person came out the next day. He listened to my concerns and said he would like to discuss with his team to meet my requests to also narrowed the gaps so my small dogs could not get out. This require the addition of more poles to narrow the gaps. They included me as they install to make sure the gaps were very narrow.

I contacted Mossy Oak Fence regarding installation of residential privacy fencing. An appointment was scheduled for the estimator to meet with me on or about October 8, 2012. After four hours and no estimator, I called the company and was told the lady who made the appointment was not available, her whereabouts were unknown, and she would call me back, After two additional calls and two emails over the following week, I still had not been able to contact anyone who could arrange an appointment. I assumed the company was not interested in my business, so on October 18, 2012, I contacted a local company. On this same day, I received an email from the lady who had scheduled the initial appointment. The email was extremely rude, telling me how much she appreciated me wasting the estimators time on the three (??) times he had been to my home. I knew nothing of the second or third meetings, yet was lambasted for wasting their time (bear in mind here I am the customer). Not what I would call good people skills.

This is a very disappointing review from an individual who apparently has no problem WASTING other peoples TIME & MONEY !!!! We spent a great deal of time trying to schedule this appointment on 3 different occasions and was NO SHOWED on all 3 !!! His address is 1-1/2 hrs away from our office and we sent 2 different estimators because after the 2nd now show the first estimator declined to waste the trip, so a second was scheduled. After the third NO SHOW, I as the owner of the company refused to allow any more of my staffs time and money to be wasted chasing someone who has no regard for the efforts we invested in trying to help them. SHAME on this member for trying to malign our company after he wasted our time & money trying to help him. After reviewing our other reports from Angies List, you can decide whether we are a company of quality and character. Thank you in advance for doing a thorough investigation of our company and we look forward to working with those of you who do not make decisions based on misguided allegations. Very pleased, Mossy Oak staff was responsive, friendly, fair and easy to work with. They did a good quality job in a timely manner. The other fence companies that I called were lame. Two could not even effectively complete an estimate. One did but the estimate was extremely high and was emailed with no follow up call. Evidently Mossy Oak is the only one that appreciates gaining a new job and client!

Very nice folks to work with here, we had a very good experience. Clark the salesman came out and took measurements and set the price quote. Not the lowest in town but after reading other reviews, considering the materials they use and the attractive warranty, I'm a firm believer that you get what you pay for.Crew showed up on time and installed board on board fence around our back yard very quickly. I've never seen such a perfect installation, knife edge straight, solid... wow.I highly recommend them and if you choose them, I hope your experience goes as well as mine.

Description of Work: My experience with Mossy Oak involved working with them to recuperate the cost I had incurred to repair damage done by the fence installer that occurred during the installation of a wooden fence along the property line. Overall, the situation was resolved satisfactorily with Mossy Oak's willingness to stand behind their work and make good on reimbursing me for out-of-pocket costs to repair damages resulting from some inadvertent negligence during their installation process. The fence was originally installed a year or two previously by Mossy Oak for the previous owners of the house I had purchased and moved into in the Fall,of 2011. After moving into the house, we had discovered some sluggishness and chronic back-up in the sewer line leading out from the house to the main city sewer line. I had engaged the city utility department and subsequently a plumbing company to identify the cause of the apparent sewer line blockage. Utilizing video camera techniques, the problem was finally traced to a blockage in the sewer line created by a fence post that was installed into the ground piercing right throught the PVC sewer line as it crossed the property line on its way to the main city sewer line. Apparently, the sewer line was shattered when the post hole was dug and the fence post with its cement footing had created an almost complete blockage in the line. The bill from the plumbing company came to a total of $1,500 for the entire job including removal of the broken section of sewer line and replacing it. Although, initially upon contacting Brandi at Mossy Oak to report the issue, her response was that too much time had passed for me to ever expect to hold them responsible for the damage they had caused. Nonetheless, after I persisted, she offered to have their president, Shane, make a visit to examine the situation. Shane demonstrated a genuine interest in understanding what had happened, admitted that this was clearly an error on the part of the installer, and impressed me with his interest in taking some pictures I had given him of this situation back to his installation crew as a learning experience to help avoid similar problems in the future. He promised to follow up and see if his liability insurance would cover this. I was encouraged by his apparent willingness to step up and work toward a suitable compensation for the cost I had incurred. Some amount of time then passed and I became a little frustrated with no getting any further status update and responses to my follow-up inquiries. However, after a a little more than a month had gone by, I finally received a call from Mossy Oak's insurance company that they would be sending me a check to cover the entire plumbing bill. This was more than I had expected and was very happy to see Mossy Oak come through to achieve this settlement. It appears that this will be the full extent of the settlement I will see. I am still left with a broken fence and will have to find some way to relocate the support post and complete the repair. I would have been even more impressed to see Mossy Oak offer to come back and make good on a proper fence installation. But at least my sewer line is fixed and flowing properly again and I am happy for that.

We found Mossy Oak Fences after driving past their previous location and decided to look them up online. We needed a fence for our backyard that A. had to meet very specific HOA requirements and B. was functional to keep our dogs in. We requested an estimate online and Brandi called the very next day. Shane came out to our home and blew us away with the consultation. He knew exactly what would work for the slopes in our yard based on our HOA requirements, measured, made recommendations, drew up the specs and had an estimate for us in less than half an hour. He didn't try to talk us into anything we didn't need, no sales pressure, just very direct here's the information and let them know if it works for us. He explained the process, explained how much deposit was needed, how long ordering the materials would take as well as installation. We were very pleased to find out that they cement all the posts, as many other fence companies do not do that standard and charge more for it. It took longer to hear from our HOA for approval than it did for Mossy Oaks to order & install our fence (about 3 to 4 wks, start to finish). Based on the size of our yard, the kind of fencing we used ('decorative' aluminum for the wrought iron look the HOA requires) and the installation, the value for the price was spot on. Other companies were almost double the price. Everyone at Mossy Oak was very clear about a homeowner needing to be onsite during installation, which I completely understand. It's easier to make adjustments, fixes or workarounds before concrete's been poured and set and all with the owner's official approval. Installation was scheduled for between 9 & 11 AM, and the crew arrived before 8 AM. It was the first time I've ever had work scheduled where the crew showed up early. Everyone on the crew was professional, courteous and frankly, treated my yard as carefully as they might their own. There was a small glitch that 2 panels needed for a slope were missing in the order, but the crew contacted their boss, got the right panels ordered & even secured the area with temporary panels so our dogs could still use the backyard until the new panels come in. To my family, that's the kind of service that sticks with you about a company. I understand mistakes happen, so we weren't bothered about the panels needing to be reordered, but we didn't expect the crew to take the extra effort to secure our yard for us. The rest of the fence looks fantastic & is definitely very well secured in the ground. We're so happy with our experience and the quality of the work that we've already referred them to 2 friends looking to have fences installed.

If you want a quality product at a market price, these guys are great. As far as customer service, their communication was terrible. The lady on the phone suggested that my wife should be home when the installers arrived. We were given an estimated time of arrival of between 9:00 and 10:00. By 11:00 they still were not at the house and we had received no phone call that they were running late. I called and left a message for someone to call back. Receive no call. 30 minutes went by and I called again, finally got the girl on the phone. She said, the crew had run into some problems on a job before and they should be at our house soon. The crew didn't show-up until about 12:30, and the girl on the phone gave me attitude when I expressed my displeasure of their communication efforts regarding the crews arrival time. Her lack of communication wasted 3 hrs of my wife's time. Her answer was, "she doesn't have to be there, if she has things to do she can leave." Would have been nice if she would have let us know that 3hrs before.

Shane showed up on time at a scheduled meeting to discuss the project. He took all measurements, explained in detail the work that needed to be done and also explained the benefits of both vinyl and wood fencing. A couple days later I received my estimate with options spelled out. I decided to go with wood and we arranged a date to being installation. There was an initial glitch with his crew showing up hours late but when they arrived, they began work immediately and efficiently and accomplished more in one day than I originally thought possible. The crew removed old fencing and installed posts for the new fencing. All posts were securely dug and cemented in place. They removed all the old fencing and carted everything away. The next day, after yet aother delay in the crew arriving, construciton began. All fences were custom built on site and beautifully followed the countours of the property. Fence was very well well constructed and work was professional and very neat. His crew worked tirelessly. Everyone who showed up was extremely friendly and cooperative. Having lost some time due to the late arrival of the crews, I expressed my concern to Shane that the job would not be completed in the two days promised. He understood, apologized and immediately assiged a second crew that showed up on Day three to make up for the delay. On the third day, with both crews working, all the fencing was completed, the chain link fence was successfully moved and all debris was carted away. End result was that the fence looks great and could never have been accomplised with pre-built panels. Assembling the fence on site from scratch made all the difference. Despite the glitches with the late arrival of crews, I would readily use Mossy Oak Fence again for any of my fence needs. They were professional, courteous, responsive and, in my opinion, excellent craftsmen. Both the office staff and the work crews communicated excellently and responded to every one of my concerns and needs. Though the price was higher than I thought, I do believe that in the end, you get what you pay for and do not regret at all spending the extra money to get such perfect fences. These are defintely the people to call if you are looking for good quality custom installed fencing that is far superior to the junk the big box stores sell.
Description of Work: I contacted Mossy Oak Fence to remove old wood and chain link fence involving three separate properties and install approximately 600 feet of new 8 foot tall wood fencing. Job also required relocation of approximately 100 feet of chain link fencing and the creation of three separate gates, One four feet wide, one six feet wide and one 10 feet wide double gate.

Mossy Oak was very professional, and while not the lowest price gave us pretty much exactly what we wanted. He stood by his original quote even through the brush clearing was more extensive than projected. The crew even placed temporary fencing (on a Sunday, no less) while we were waiting for parts to come in so we could use the yard for our dogs. We are *very* happy with this company!
Description of Work: Called and received an estimate to fence in ~ 3 acres with 3 pass-through gates and two driveway gates, much of it through heavy brush/woods. We ordered 4x4" no climb fencing with wood 4x4 posts, wooden walk-through gates at 3 points, a 14' tube "cattle" gate and a nice split driveway gate with opener and brick columns

Several companies were contacted for this job. We have 4 children, 13, 5, 2, and 2 months (at the time just 3 kids). There was also the English springer spaniel, a water dog that liked to get out and swim to the middle of the pond. There was the Cocker that liked to run around the pond. Needless to say that there was a safety issue with the water and the HOA was none too happy about the dogs. We had many estimates from various local fence companies to include a major box store. I heard them on the radio as an NPR sponsor. Mossy Oak was in the top end of the price spectrum. We obtained about 7 estamites. The warranties were compared, many questions were asked, and the representative brought several samples. Brandi, the office rep is great to deal with. I highy suggest email to keep track of progress. In the end Mossy oak had the best combination of price (although on the higher end, but you get what you pay for), quality, warranty, and service. We chose them and one hic-up was the permitting. We are City of Orlando, not county. They originally had a seperate permitting charge but later included this. This process took a week and a half. Not the company, City is really slow. Once that was done the appointment was set. They ran into Easter weekend and the day before my appointment the job was postponed. Brandi was out so the other office staffer was not really up on the cummunication part. You need to stay on top of it. Once the workers arrived on the new date, they did so early and ready to work. I had marked all my sprinkler heads with FLAGS to avoid acidents. This was highly advised. About an hour or so into the work there was a knock at the door. They dug next to a flag and broke one of the main sprinkler pipes. TIP: You're spending a good amount of money, take the time to be there while they are working. They had a tech who handles this sort of thing so they sent him out. After about 4 times out the problem was finally fixed for good several weeks after the completed job. Rain was an issue. The project was completedly built onsite. This includes property pin locating (up must provide survey), posting, concrete, nailing, cutting, and gate install, and etc. The staff was professional and fast. They seamlessly followed the slope of the land. Concrete was mixed and poured onsite. This part is important because the area behind my home gets windy and the ground get wet. The fence weighs alot so the concrete helps support the stress from the wind and the weight of the fence.Alias John Smith across the way had this same work done by another company (Fence Outlet), a compony, I almost went with and literally 3 months later the entire back of the fence sides were leaning. They were charging extra for the cement posts and DID NOT recommend it. Mossy Oak said they would NOT do the job without it. It is now Mid-October, I used the best fence semi-transparent stain that Lowes had (Olympia at approx $240). I purchased a fence stain gun from WalMart ($55). 6 months later, the fence looks great! The lines are straight,no leaning, the company followed up with us 3 times after install. The warranty on wood is the best amongst their rivals. I did the research. Check them out. You will not be disapointed. Again they are a little more but in the end well worth the price for a quality product and install.
Description of Work: Installation of 135' of pressure treated cypress 6" board on board, 6 feet high. 55' of pressure treated cypress 4" picket fence (4' high). There are 2 gates also installed. 4' wide single and 4' wide picket. A matching garbage blind was also done. (5' privacy, 4' by 5'). 203 linear feet total. The property is backed to a pond so per code, the back is 4' high. Wood is natural and shrinks so privacy was not option. This is 4" and 6" board on board. Cost is a little more but an overall better look.

The company promptly responded to my request for an estimate. Once the measuring was done, we handled the rest by email and phone. It was a very efficient process. The installation was done quickly and professionally. The fence is beautiful and after a year and a half there have been no problems. At first I thought the fence was somewhat lightweight, but in use it has held up well. It is much more sturdy than the fences some of my neighbors have. The manufacturer offers a lifetime warranty that the fence company will service. The cost was about $1,000 less than the highest estimate I received from another company. I would use them again without hesitation.
Description of Work: The company installed 150 feet of five foot high black aluminum fencing with two four foot gates. I have small dogs so I had to pay a bit more for 1 5/8" picket spacing.

He recommended product based on my needs and environment. The three man crew showed up as scheduled and, as Murphy's law would have it, on one of the few rain days we were getting. They waited out the rain and got started about 3 hours later than expected, but still had the fence completed by 5:30 or so that afternoon. They were even kind enough to re-design the fencing line enough to save my Camila bush (extra work for them, but so appreciated by me). They cleaned up all materials and took the generated brush with them. Great job all the way around. I continue to recommend Mossy Oak to anyone looking for a professional, reasonably priced and reliable fencing company.
Description of Work: We had a cedar privacy fence installed over existing chain link.

We have a very large back yard and 4 dogs, It did not have a fence and we were unable to just let the dogs go out and run around like we really wanted to. I found Mossy Oak online and made a appointment for them to come out and take a look at my yard and give me an estimate. They showed up and were on time, I feel like they gave us a very clear idea of how much everything was going to cost and how long it would take. We scheduled a appointment with them after having a couple of other companies come out and give us estimates. Mossy Oak was the most professional out of them all and the most reasonably priced. They showed up to do the job on time. They had all their supplies them and acted very proffessioanly. They had initially told us it was a two day job because our yard was extremely large. They arrived at 8am and finished the entire job by 6pm that day. We were so surprised how quickly they got the fence up. It was an extremely good job they all worked efficiently as a team and did an amazing job. They fenced in our entire yard and also put in 2 small gates with locks and a double gate with locks as well. It was really funny when some of the neighbors came home from work and all of a sudden this fence was up like it popped up instantly. I would recommend them to anyone and still to this day have not have a company do a job as efficiently as them.
Description of Work: We had our back yard fenced in with 322' of Cypress Board on Board we also got two 4' wide single gates with locks and one 8' wide double gate with locks.
