Terribly. Dave is a crook. It is no wonder he could not make it as a General Contractor. He was doing work at my neighbor's house and noticed I had loads of dirt on my property that needed spread. He asked my neighbor to reach out for me and see if he could do the job. He first offered to do the work at a half day or day rate. I declined his offer, then he offered to spread all the dirt for $400 cash. While I was home for lunch he started the job. When I came outside I noticed he was not spreading the dirt very smoothly. He also was spreading the dirt in a different area than I asked. I stopped him and told him he was spreading the dirt in the wrong area and that it did not look very good. He apologized he was spreading it in the wrong area and said it was not spreading good because the ground was too wet. It had been raining a lot that week, but he is supposed to be a professional and know what he can and can not do. We agreed he would do what he could that day and come back the following week when the ground dried out to finish. I gave him a $200 deposit and agreed to give him the remaining $200 when he finished the next week. When I came home from work, I was very disappointed that he did almost nothing else and left with my money. I called him immediately and it was obvious he knew he had not done much and I was not happy. He said he worked for 2 1/2 hours, which I highly doubt, and would come back the next week if the ground dried out or give me back my deposit. This morning (6/24/2019) I texted him that the ground had dried out and he could come back and finish. He responded that he would come back for $525 a half day or $1025 for a day, which is not what we agreed on. The way we came up with $400 was because I could rent the equipment for a day for that amount and I had a friend who would run the equipment and do the work properly. Since he was already there and he agreed to do the job for $400, I figured I would save my friend having to come over some weekend and get the job done that day. The *work* he did was worthless to me. I will now have to rent the equipment and my friend will have to come over and do the work and straighten out his mess. He is a total rip-off. You can see a post in the first picture. he was supposed to smooth to the right of the post where my daughter's horse is going to be, but he spread it to the left of the post. The pictures also show how much dirt he didn't move. The second picture shows how poorly he spread the dirt with deep tracks. When my builder spread the dirt around my house it looked like glass. When my daughter saw Dave's job she said I should call back my builder and ask him to spread the rest of the dirt.
