Jim Bailey arrived on time and checked out wiring in bedroom that did not appear to work. He was neat, methodical and explained what he was doing and why. He also checked the ceiling crawl space to trace the wires to make sure they were in good shape. He dismantled and checked all of the bedroom wall outlets to be sure they were correctly wired, not burned up and had solid connections. He clearly explained how the room was wired and why and gave me tips (dos and don'ts). He packed up and was gone in an hour. Turns out there was no problem; I didn't understand how the wiring worked. But I do now, thanks to Jim. They also didn't charge me a travel fee, since I was nearby their Tarpon Springs shop. Would definitely use Electric Inc. again.
Description of Work: Checked out bedroom for possible faulty wiring.

This business was really nice to work with. Everything went very smoothly. Paul came exactly on time this morning. Was really nice and professional. I walked him around to show him what I needed done, and he started right away. First, the ceiling fan was installed with the remote control and it was perfect. No noise, great light, and he gave me a few tips on how to take care of it. He was so careful to keep my flooring clean and took care of all the debri, boxes, etc. The fan that I had him replace was really heavy, noisy and hard to work with. But, he just took care of everything and hauled the old fan away for me. Next, I needed my porch light replaced with an upgraded motion sensor. I was really happy with it- Paul explained how it worked, the right lighting for the purpose I bought it. He answered my questions, and he was done. I was so pleased with not only the service, but the price. He charged exactly what the estimate was, and that was such a good deal for me. I don't have loads of money, and it was a blessing. Thanks Paul for being so great!! I will use Electric Incorporated in the future--
Description of Work: I had to have electrical work done, and I am new to Florida. I checked out the yellow pages for electricians, and was not happy with the service over the phone. I took a look on Angie's list, called Electric Incorporated/ Progressive Electrical Services and got a call back within 20 minutes. Randy was really great- I asked for help installing a ceiling fan in my bedroom, and wanted to replace my porch light with an upgraded motion sensor. Randy gave me lots of information about the installation of the porch light and gave me an estimate over the phone. I was very happy with the estimate and he scheduled me right away. He even told me that he has adjusted his rates because he is so aware of the economy and how hard it is affecting people. He said to call him anytime if I had questions and he would help me. I did and he was so great. I felt like he really cared about my home. I asked for his advise on what he would recommend as a good ceiling fan, number of blades that would be most effective, and a couple brand names that he experienced through his wotk that worked well. He took so much time with me, and made me confident when I went shopping for my fan. And he was right--I live the fan.

Smooth and professional process from start to finish!
Description of Work: Replacement of underground sprinkler line by running it in the attic and then down the side of the house. A lighting strike had damaged the under ground line extensively. At the same time I had additional lines run one 50amp for a steam shower, and additional ones for GFI, exhaust fan, and whirlpool tube motor. The runs were probably 125 feet each. Connected all of these up for me and tested all circuits. The owner was very response and so was Ken. Anytime I needed anything even not related to electrical issues they had good feedback and advice. They were clean and professional laying down covering and cleaned everything up after as well. All who worked on the project were knowledgeable, helpful, clean, and courtesy! On the pricing I added a few things to the job without getting quote on them and that is why I rated price a B-Good instead of an A. I blame myself partially for this as I should have worked out a price prior to work being done on the additional things avoiding any surprises. In the end I am happy with the quality of the work and the professionalism on the job and would recommend them to others for sure. Dave Howe

They were very responsive and sent someone out the same day we called. Jim, the technician, arrived on time. Our GFI's were not working in any of the baths and we had been unable to reset them. He spent a lot of time trying to figure out where the reset was for the series of GFI outlets. He replaced two of the three inside the house and reset the breaker. I also asked about an exterior outlet we had that hadn't been working for a long time. He covered the light sensors on my landscape lighting to test and see if they would come on. He wasn't able to get any of them to come on. He followed the wires through the attic and determined the outlet was controlled by a switch at the front door. He also replaced the GFI receptacle. It was working when he left. The reason for my negative rating is that the walls at the receptacles were covered with black fingerprints, which I had to clean and also the door jambs. He left all the tape on the lighting sensors, which my husband had to go out and remove when he got home from work. He had also neglected to put the cover back on the electrical panel in the garage, which I discovered later and did myself. After my husband got home, we tested the exterior outlet and it was again not working. Aside from this, the house smelled badly for hours afterward because the tech reeked of smoke. I know that electricians are expensive, but I do feel that $259 was high for what he had done. I wished I had used the electrician I used before, but he'd been unable to come out the same day.
Description of Work: Replacement of 3 GFI receptacles. Troubleshoot why exterior GFI wouldn't work.

Ken with Electric Inc. came by the house and I walked him through all the items we were having done. I told him straight up that I was getting three quotes, and then making my decision. He happened to be the third of my 3 quotes. Of the three quotes we received, I felt comfortable with two of the companies based on their representatives, so then it came down to price. Electric Inc. actually came in higher than the other company, so I was leaning the other way. Then, a day or two later, Ken actually e-mailed me to confirm I got the quote, and asked for my feedback. Electric Inc. was the only company that bothered to follow up with me after I got the quote. I told him he was a little higher, provided the quote to him from the competition, and told him what we really wanted to pay for the work ($1,000). He responded back that he would talk to his boss and get back with me. I decided if he was going to go through the process, I could wait a day or two. Ken responded back that they would not just match the competitor, but would actually lower it to the $1,000 even we wanted to pay ($50 - $60 lower than the competition). He said they could get a crew out working in less than a week’s time if we wanted. We signed up for the work, and the crew came out. One of the things we wanted was a switch to control two soffit outlets we had put in our home when it was built. In all the process, we completely forgot to have them switched, so plugging in the Christmas lights meant going outside to the outlets to turn them off. We thought this would be pretty simple, but it ended up taking almost 4 hours while they worked to get access to them through the attic, and trace the wiring. The tech mentioned there may have to be some additional labor charges based on how long that part of the job took. Another job was pre-wiring two ceiling fans on a lanai extension we had put in, and running them to an existing switch box inside. They said fishing wiring down there would be tough, and added in labor fees for it. It ended up taking the guy all of 15 minutes, and he told my wife he was never that lucky before. . . I do not know if that helped or not when it came to the final tab, but the bill came in the mail, and it was for the original agreed upon price, so we were very pleased. I checked out all the outlet work they had done, and then installed the ceiling fans the following weekend, and everything was in good working order. Very pleased with the whole handling and price of the project. Would highly recommend Electric Inc to others.
Description of Work: Install pre-wiring for two ceiling fans on an extended lanai off the back porch. Both of these would go to a single common interior switch. Extend power from an existing floodlight to wrap around the extended lanai off the back porch, and install a provided floodlight to run off the same switch. Switch two existing exterior outlets to an existing switch in the garage Change out a 2 outlet weather proofed exterior outlet with a 4 outlet weather proofed exterior outlet (2 gang to a 4 gang) Install a constant powered GCFI outlet to a pre-wired exterier case.

Description of Work: After a severe storm we lost power to 5 outlets and 2 switches in our family room. When Randy was called, he stated it would probably be an easy fix and would have someone out at 4 PM the same day. Jim arrived right on time and when straight to work testing the outlets and the switches to locate the problem. He could not detect the problem and started checking other outlets and switches to see if the problem was with them. He also went into the attic to check the wiring. Around 7 PM, Randy arrived to assist. They found the problem in an outside wall. They had to remove the baseboard and cut into the drywall to replace a wire that most likely had a staple through it since installation when the house was built in 2004. The bottom of the dry wall was wet from an apparant leak which caused the short. There was also some black mold to indicate the leak had been there for a while. Randy made a trip to get needed supplies. He came back with what they needed and replaced the wire along with treating the mold with mold killer. They replaced the baseboard and were so consciencetious of not messing the paint on the wall. Once done, they chauked the baseboard at the floor and thoroughly cleaned up the area. Except for a couple of minor scratches on the baseboard, the area looks just like it did before the repair. They were here until after 10 PM and to be honest I was shocked with the final pricing as I was expecting it to be so much more. Randy and Jim both were professional and very attentive to our questions and explaining what they were doing. I would not hesitate to use them again or to recommend them to anyone in need of honest, qualified and professional electricians. As a matter of fact, I plan to call them back to do some wiring for us on outside lighting for a tiki hut.

From the time Randy arrived at my house, he was courteous and explained exactly what was wrong with my fan switch. As my house is 20 years old, the switch plate actually has four (4) switches; one for the hall light; one for the outside lights, one for the fan and one for an outlet for a lamp. Randy gave me a choice of switches instead of just installing "the easiest" one for him. He is a personable, knowledgeable electrician and I would not hesitate recommending him to my neighbors and friends in the future.
Description of Work: The switch that runs the ceiling fan in my living room did not work. I tried using the pull chain to ensure that it was not turned off but that was not the case. The switch was not working. I called Electric, Inc. and received a call back within 5 minutes and a service call was scheduled for the next day which fit in my schedule as I had just returned from a trip and did not need to have someone come to my house immediately. Randy came out to the house the next day and checked the switch. It was a dead switch and he asked me if I wanted to replace it with the same type of "on/off" switch or one with three settings for the fan "low/medium/high" and I choose the latter. Randy then went to Home Depot and bought the new switch and returned quickly to my house and installed the new switch. He turned the fan on; the switch to the off position and then showed me how the new switch would work. It had two "off" settings. To the far right - turning it on would go to the "high" setting; if the switch was in the far left - turning it on would go to the "low" setting. He then removed the long chain that dangled down from the fan as that was no longer needed.

This service call went great from start to finish - - from the time I called, to Randy's callback; to his coming to my home and fixing the switch. I have no problem paying for service calls but am very impressed by service personnel like Randy. This is the second time in two weeks that Randy has been to my house. I would not hesitate using Randy again but I would hope that my house would hold its electrical problems together for awhile longer.
Description of Work: One of the wall switches that turns on my outside lights did not work. I called Electric, Inc. At 8:02 AM this morning and Randy called me back at 8:06 AM. I explained that my outside light was not working and I thought that the wall switch was not working and it was difficult to walk outside in the dark to get the morning paper. He asked me when would be a good time to schedule an appointment. I told him anytime after 1:00 PM today would be fine. He said he would call after 1:00. Randy called about 1:30 PM and was at my house about 5 minutes later. He took off the wall plate and shook the switch. He said that the wire was loose. He then reattached the wire correctly to the switch and now my outside lights are working perfectly. This service call took about 8 minutes in total and he did not charge me for this.

When I called for service I actually spoke with a live human being who then scheduled a time to come out. I actually had to reschedule due to personal stuff and they were very accommodating to me. Jim arrived and apologized for being 20 minutes late. We discussed the problems and he went to work, fixing everything in about an hour and a half. He then asked me if there was anything else he could help with. The quality of the work and Jim's knowledge of our electrical systems are top notch. I will definitely call and/or refer these people from now on.
Description of Work: We had an issue where simply turning on a light caused the circuit breaker to trip. Jim from Electric diagnosed the problem one step at a time, very methodically, explaining to me each step and why. He removed light fixtures, wall switches, and the breaker box panel. He found two possible issues and fixed them both. He put everything that was worked on back in its original place perfectly.

The electrician arrived at the scheduled time and the work went as expected; the cost was within the estimate. One ceiling hole was cut larger than needed in error and they patched it. Patch is okay, not great, but we can improve it. They cleaned up all the mess including vacuuming and taking out all the leftover boxes and wiring. I would hire this firm again. The people were pleasant to deal with.
