Brian's company took two outdated and way past their prime wooden decks and replaced them with a beautiful new brick paver patio. You WANT to hire Modern design for all your paver needs. Whether it is a new patio area, driveway, walkway...you will be extremely happy with the end results. Brian takes his time with you, explains the process and his staff is incredibly nice and attentive. We had a minor hiccup....Brian to the rescue, had it corrected the next day and VIOLA!!! We have a beautiful patio area that is bigger than our master bedroom! We love the end result and so will you!

We didnt have the money to get all the work done at once, so Brian and I worked out a plan where the concrete would get poured and then a few months later the coating would get applied. Greg and his assistent came out to prep the site and set up the forms. Due to rain for the next couple of days, they were unable to pour concrete. The weather cleared up enough to get it done, covering it with plastic since the rain came back in the afternoon, which was fine with me, sometimes mother nature will not cooperate. Greg found a creative yet functional design for the grooves in the slab for containing any cracks in the future. As we all know, that is a matter of WHEN not IF. For the following 2 weeks, i watered the slab daily to ensure a slow cure. Unfortunately, during this process, i discovered water puddled in the worst possible location, a 3 ft circle by the front door! I have poured alot of concrete myself over the years, so i know it is tough to gauge where water will settle especially on a large quarter circle slab. I called Brian to let him know, he immediately apologized and would send over Greg to take a look. ( I always give people a chance to perform without getting upset. I know they had good intentions) I wasn't disappointed, Greg had a plan to add a layer of concrete (i forgot the exact term but he knew what he was talking about) in the low area for proper run off. This was done when they came back to apply the decorative coating a few months later as originally planned. I couldn't be happier, everyone that sees it agrees, it looks fantastic. As funny as it sounds, I was kind of glad there was an issue with the water by the door, i had the chance to see how real professionals handle their work, to correct mistakes. For that reason, I give them high marks. Not because it looks fantastic, but the effort and care it took to MAKE it fantastic. We have all had experiences with contractors who think they are the best, but in fact are complete idiots. If you are considering Modern Design, take my word for it, just do it. You will not be disappointed! Thanks again Brian and Greg, great job!

Removed old surface and replaced with beautiful surface.

Modern Design was very professional, courteous, and prompt. They did a great job on my pool deck and it looks like new. I noticed later that evening that one little crack was missed so I call and left a message. The next day I came home and the crack was repaired. I would definitely use them again and would recommend them.

started out with a quote from 3 providers. this one came in cheaper. we gave them a little more than half down to order the material. we were told 10 days for delivery of material. After we made that payment we were then told it would be another 800 and change to seal the pavers. that put the price over the other 2 quotes I had. But I went with them and I will seal the pavers. it took 21 days and my wife had to keep bothering them just to get the job going. we had a big memorial party planned and were getting very nervous. They ran out of material and the job supervisor came to see why. he said they made the walk way too big so he needed to order more pavers. he told us he would be back on the Friday morning before the holiday to finish. They showed up late Friday night while our guests were already here. they finished laying the pavers but did not resand the entire project as the supervisor told us that was needed. Wednesday of the next week they came to collect the balance and he tried to tell my wife that it did not need resanded. I had to mention to him that he was the one that said it needed resanded the prior week. I informed him if it did not get resanded he would not get the balance of the payment. he came the next afternoon to finish the job.

Work Experience: They cleaned and prepared the driveway on a Friday, and suggested we not drive on it. We honored that request. Monday they came and applied the materials, and again requested we not drive on it until Tuesday evening. We actually waited until Wednesday. Summary of work: They started when they said they would finish when they promised, and cleaned up the area when they departed. Neighbors who had driveways repaired or replaced recently were impressed by the value and appearance of the driveway.

It went very well. they worked with my schedule and budget and helped me determine which direction to take the project in.

They put a 21/20 pavers in my backyard. He gave me the 10% discount coupon right away because I was a part of another list just like Angie’s list. He gave me a date and when they started they were there first thing in the morning finished it less than a day. They do a great job. The price was reasonable and I did some comparison shopping as well and they were right on there.

We were satisfied with the job that they completed for us. We will use them again in the future.

I liked the responsiveness of the company from the time I called for an estimate and the service being provided. Each day the process for what they were doing was fully explained. Cleanup was exceptional. Except for seeing a resurfaced driveway you'd never know they were there. A professional team of workers and a true work of art.

They were very good. They did a very good job and they were able to match the initial pavers with my porch and you could tell the difference from the way it started to the way it ended. The price is still very reasonable.

Modern design's approach was professional from start to finish, presentation of what could be done and design recomendations, color choice, samples. Demo was done w/o damage to property. The crew was curtious professional and went along way to making us happy customers. My wife was very paticular about certian bricks and the crew went through took time to swap all out for her. Excellent experience and a beautiful job done very timely. Price was not lowest but difference was well made up in the job experience

I decided not to use them. They were very good. They were very nice. I just decided to go with a different provider based on interaction. Modern Design called me back and gave me locations of places where I could look at work that they had done. They were very nice and very responsive. They were probably second on my list. I would not call them in the future because I like the provider I am going with.

They did a good job and it has not faded 2 years later.

We picked Modern Design because of a recommendation. Overall experience was good at the end, although some delays occurred, partially because of the weather, and wrong pavers were delivered at first. Steve was always open to discuss problems and resolved any situation. His crew was excellent and hard working.

The work was fine. We weren't there, but everything was done when it was supposed to be.

From the time I signed the contract to the finished product, Modern Design presented themselves as professionals, showed up on the appointed day, began work, and finished on schedule despite some threatening weather. The job was well done and looks beautiful. The only downside was the first day when they removed the paint and did not clean it up as well as they should have. It ended up in the street and stuck to tires of cars going by. After speaking with the rep, he said he would send a crew to clean it up and was very apologetic. They kept me informed as to when they would be at the house working during the entire week. The whole experience was very good.

I have nothing but praise for the kind of work he does. He was prompt and honest and did a complete job.
