John Mencher Professional Handyman Service

John was to paint a floor area of about 350 square feet. I paid for the paint and roller and advanced him $50. After several postponements on his part, and numerous attempts to contact him, he said he would do the job on Saturday (yesterday) and he would be here from 10am to 11am. He never showed up, and has not responded to any of my messages or calls. I finally got in touch with him at his junk hauling business number. His reply to me was, "Go F..k myself." Now, would you hire him?

John came twice. Once for estimate and accepted the deposit. He said that the shades needed to be cut and as per John's instructions the shades were taken back to Home Depot. John returned a second time to install the shades and this Handyman didn't have a masonry drill bit. John then accepted final payment and said he would be back. After the fifth time of either a no call no show or the excuse that another job was talking longer than I expected. Finally I told John that if was not here on Saturday June 26, 2021, I was going to contact the Sheriff of Pasco County and Clearwater Police Department. I then received a text stating that my money would be mailed out in the form of a bank check from Mid Florida bank. That was July 1, 2021. I have not received the check, no return call or text. As of this morning I am contacting law enforcement. BEWARE OF THIS SO CALLED HANDYMAN.

It went exactly as planned. From the phone call to the final detail John and his team a professionals have expertise like no other. John Mencher quoted $700, and wanted me to pay $350 up front before starting the work. In a moment of bad judgement I paid him the $350, although I don't remember ever paying a contractor up front before. Then he emailed me an electronic invoice with terms and conditions that I was supposed to sign before he started the work. I have generally had good luck with contractors I find on Angie's List. However, Angie's List had listed him in the search results "From Our Trusted Partner", which was Home Advisor. His reviews on Angie's List are generally not particularly good. I looked him up on the Better Business Bureau web site. His BBB rating is an "F" and there are several issues identified. I called and emailed him telling him I wanted to cancel the project and would like my deposit back. Of course I haven't gotten my money back and I'm not expecting to. I would suggest looking him up at the Better Business Bureau before hiring him.

Terrible. he was supposed to take $200 off my credit card pay balance when completed. I pd checked credit card (( doesn't take credit cards any longer )) I e-signed our contract he still went ahead an overcharged my card. Contacted credit card company with proof e-sign and my check upon completion. I was informed by discover he overcharged $146.25 at which time discover reimbursed me the difference..JOHN MENCHER is nothing but a con artist. On his reviews people state pretty much the same thing without coming out and saying it. So I am not the only one by any means he has overcharged. He also is not the one that does the work he hires another company who does a terrible job and you can't understand him because of his English. I will say he is a very nice man but the lack and communication is terrible. I am so glad I had copies of those esigns so discover credit card could see the overcharge. this so-called professional left tons of holes in my instead of using a stud finder like pros do. And this was left in this condition. I do a lot of projects but this will be my last. I never expected to go through this getting this company from Angie's List. thank you for the terrible service

Very well. Andy and Austin came and my husband and I were very pleased with the results. Andy put up subway tile not only under the cabinets, but also going all the way up to a slanted ceiling around a window! We would definitely call on them again.

Set an appointment on Monday at 4:00pm for a quote on siding and painting. Waited until 5:17 and I left the house, NO CALL, NO SHOW. When I got home, my wife said that that he had left a message. If he had called at 4:00 and said he was running late, I would have been understanding, but over an hour late? He actually showed up at around 6:20 and I told him that we were making dinner and we could re-schedule. We agreed upon 5:00pm on Wednesday. Again, NO CALL, NO SHOW I don't deal with poor customer service.
