Excellent! Could not be happier. Ron was as professional as possible. He always showed on time, did what he said he would do, gave an honest assessment of what could and could not be done, and performed the work at the price and within the timeframe he said he would. The craftsmanship was top notch, including the cabinet structure and finishing work/painting/staining. Also, as a side note, I've had some other contractors not take input well from a woman. Ron was great about taking my ideas and suggestions.

Ron was very easy to work with and did an excellent job on the cabinets. He was very helpful in the planning and always punctual. He gave us a schedule and he kept to it. We would definitely use his services again.

Right from the start didn't explain overlay of the cabinets. Color didn't come out right and the crown molding was a totally different color. He stated there was nothing he could do. I have done 3 custom kitchens and have never had this problem. The raised panel cabinets edging has gouges and chipping in the paint. One cabinet had 2 gouges and they just stained over it. Originally I didn't want to have panels on the ends of my cabinets but had to install them due to Barbour being unable to match the coloring to my door panels. The crown molding also doesn't match my cabinets they are a much darker shade despite me requesting cherry throughout the kitchen. When I brought this up to Barbour his response was "that's how they come out". They shouldn't come out not matching the rest of the cabinets I'm paying for. I did not have any of these issues with 3 other custom kitchens I have done in cherry wood in the past. Several people have looked at this and stated its not a good quality job. The inside of the cabinets were not stained and when I brought this up to him he stated there would be an additional charge. No one I have ever spoke to said they had ever seen the inside unstained or that these are standard business practices for custom cabinetry companies. They look like cheap box cabinets but at least they'd have the inside stained. It's suppose to be a custom kitchen that's why I originally went with him. Originally after the kitchen was complete I let him know I was disappointed in some of the workmanship. He came to look at the project and as we were discussing he turned and walked out. He has come back and took a wood piece of cabinetry in my pantry that was split all the way down the middle, but not addressed all of my other issues with the work.

My bathroom is small and I couldnt find exactly what I needed, even if I had to order it. I showed Ron what I wanted and he understood perfectly. He did a great job and even had them ready sooner than targeted. They look great and I'm very happy with them.

Experience was great, Ron was extremely professional. I wanted to have a custom entertainment center built and after calling around and getting ridiculous quotes I was lucky enough to find Barbour Custom Cabinetry & Design. The quality of work that went into my project is incredible, and plan on using them again for future projects around the house.

I had a very large hall closet in my older (1950's) home that I wanted to convert to a cabinet and bookcase. Ron and I discussed what I wanted and he had several good ideas on how to execute this. He emailed me examples of his work, so I knew from those, and his reviews, that I was in good hands. I also knew from his reviews that he would do a good job, but what he did was beyond what I expected. The workmanship and overall quality was exceptional. I have a builder friend who saw the cabinet, and estimated the cost at 30% more than what Ron charged. I couldn't be happier with the cabinet. The closet wasn't "square" so building the cabinet to make it fit perfectly was no easy task. Ron got it done quickly and neatly. He was very professional as well. If you need any kind of custom cabinet work, don't hesitate to call him. You'd be lucky to have him do the work!

Ron is a superb craftsman! The table rework exceeded my expectations and looks awesome! It looks so much better than it did when it was new!

When we could not find a bed whose headboard was low enough to clear the light switches on the wall over the headboard, we decided to have a custom made bed made. We contacted a couple of people and decided to have Ron build our bed. After doing some research, we decided on a platform bed with drawers underneath. We had Ron come out and view the space where the bed would be. My wife drew a sketch of what we were thinking of and we let it up to Ron to make the bed. It took a couple of weeks for Ron to get the oak wood we wanted for the bed, but then there were a few weeks delay while he was busy with other jobs. When he finally got around to working on our bed, it was done in a couple of weeks. He came to our house and assembled the bed here since it was a king bed and the drawers and platform all needed to be put together. This whole process went very smoothly. The bed itself is very well done and the grains of the headboard and footboard look very good together. We are very pleased with the final product.

Ron does the most beautiful work! These benches came out better than I expected. The stain matches our existing table, the finish is truly lovely and smooth, and the design and structure of the benches is exactly what we were hoping for. Ron delivered a first-class job on time and on budget.

The project went very smoothly and turned out fabulous. Ron communicated with us via email on the details, visited the house once before providing the final proposal, and delivered/installed the unit within the promised time frame. Since he built the unit at his place, the actual installation only took a half day. He and his daughter did all the work. We're thrilled with the results - it's a high-quality wall unit and it adds so much to the room. We highly recommend Ron to anyone looking for quality cabinets at a very reasonable price.

Ron Barbour helped us with our furniture entertainment center in 2014. I was very happy with his work then, so I approached him again for help in 2015. Ron was responsive to my phone call/text/email, was accommodating to my schedule in fitting the work in and performed excellent work. I would not hesitate in recommending Ron.

We had been looking at stock cabinets and couldn't find anything we liked and were surprised at the high prices. We decide to check Angies List and found Barbour Custom Cabinetry & Design. Ron Barbour responded almost immediately, on a Saturday, to my email request. He sent a couple of preliminary photos and gave us an approximate cost right away. The price he quoted was spot on, after he'd measured the space, and it was just as reasonable as stock a stock cabinet. He matched a stain color we wanted perfectly from a medicine chest we lent him, and he finished a week earlier than he originally quoted. He installed it beautifully and we are so pleased with the result. We could not be happier. I would definitely use him again and would freely recommend him to anyone.

The experience with Ron Barbour went very well. We had met Ron on a previous cabinet bid that just didn't work out from a timing perspective, but I kept his card for future use. We had a short timetable and he had a good backlog. He's well worth the wait if you can. At the tail end of our home remodel we wanted to get a nice Mantle shelf that would match the cherry cabinets in the adjoining kitchen. We had already had our marble surround and hearth installed by our tile contractor. At this point I called several finish carpenters that claimed to build cabinets and mantles. Ron of Barbour cabinets was the last I called. His pricing was the best quote provided and even better yet he made suggestions on how we could improve on the design we originally had quoted. We ended up with a Mantle shelf that is about 8' long, 7" high and 9" deep. At one end he also built a 30" wide shelving that fit on the hearth but under the mantle. Both pieces are a great match to the cherry wood cabinetry in the adjoining kitchen. Great quality and fine craftsmanship. I highly recommend and will certainly use Ron again should I have a need.

Ron is a consummate professional. He was on time on his first visit, got everything measured & sent an estimate the same day. It took about 3 weeks before the call to let me know he was ready to install. I was surprised at how fast he built them. He got them installed in no time flat & the cabinets are BEAUTIFUL! My laundry room is now a place of calm as opposed to a source of chaos. Ron was awesome to work with, very efficient & reasonably priced. I highly recommend him!

Ron was excellent. He was very responsive to my initial inquiry and suggestions, punctual, and offered good ideas and solutions to our needs. I can't say enough about his professionalism and expertise with our wood cabinetry project. It wasn't easy since we asked him to match the profile of existing cabinet doors, trim and stain already in place on the other side of the room. It is impossible to tell that what he did wasn't original to the very large built-in already in place. I would say he is a perfectionist when it comes to detail, materials used, and quality work. I would definitely recommend him and hire him again!

I highly recommend Ron. We wanted to replace a built in kitchen desk area with a custom pantry. What he delivered was both beautiful and functional. He did a wonderful job of matching our cabinet color and managed to re-use the existing cabinet molding, piecing it together so seamlessly that it looks like new. He was regular in his communications and very timely in completing the work.

Ron is fabulous! We are so happy with our cabinets. We are building a new home in Palm Harbor. After visiting 2 cabinets companies that order cabinet boxes to almost fit the spaces on our house plans and getting estimates well over our budget for some simple upgrades, we decided to try Angie's list. I met with Ron at his home where he builds custom cabinets. He had cabinets in his shop he was building and I could see and put my hands on his work. He invited us into his home to view the cabinets he built for himself in his own kitchen. I fell in love with his work and his meticulousness. His cabinets fit the exact space measured - there are no "fillers." He drew up plans for cabinets for our whole house since we were new construction...full kitchen with island, pool bath, master bath, laundry room, and kids bath. After the fact, we added shelves in the pantry and a little cabinet in the pool bath. I wanted something very custom in the master bath and showed him photos of what I wanted. He was able to make suggestions and build a near exact replica of custom cabinets in the photos. Of course, there is no fancy computer programs where you can preview your cabinets before he builds them and the super up charge that goes along with those fancy computerized programs. This is a custom show with no particle board, no fillers, no boxes that almost fit. He makes the cabinets to order exactly to fit the space and exactly the way you specify. They are perfect. We picked the handles, he installed them. We even had a little problem with the laundry room because the washer/dryer measurements weren't exactly right and he was able to alter the cabinet he had already built to fit! He was timely, easy to work with, and his prices are very, very fair. I would highly, highly recommend him. If we ever need cabinets built in the future, he will be the only one we call. But, you need to meet well in advance of needing new cabinets as this man is very sought after and busy! He gets booked up quickly because pretty much, he is a one man band. So, #1, don't expect new cabinets overnight - perfection takes time and he works alone, #2, book early - once everyone finds out how awesome his work is, you won't be able to get an appt. We luckily booked him over 3 months in advance of needing cabinets and I think we just got him in time. We love love love our new cabinets! All our neighbors are so jealous because our cabinets fully fit the spaces, they have custom elements like built in silverware drawers, easy close drawers, and extra deep drawers and Ron's custom cabinets beat their cabinets hands down with quality, not to mention beauty. We could not be happier with Barbour Custom Cabinets for our custom home.

I was looking for a solution that could hide my kitties' litterbox that was sitting in the guests bathroom and looked HORRIFIC. I came across Ron's business on Angie's list and decided to give him a try. I envisioned a cabinet where I could enclose the litterbox, asked Ron if he could do it and he said to send him the drawings. oh well, my drawings were really awful but he got the gist of it. Although he is very busy, he's very punctual with appointments and deliveries. He came once to take the measurements and that was it - he knew exactly what to do! It was my first time of custom cabinetry and he was very patient! the cabinet looks awesome, I love it and the kitties used their new location from the day it was installed!

Drama less service from initial visit to installation. Workmanship met my very high expectations. Small kitchen remodel, every inch was utilized. My exact design came to life once installed. The cabinets have very smooth heavy duty tracks. He is very professional and a great craftsman. Second face of the remodel I want him to build the office furniture and the laundry room cabinets. I wish I can post pictures.

Ron had suggestions for the kitchen cabinets which were very helpful. I had lots of questions and he always responded quickly. After the kitchen was completed, Ron built the vanity for my bathroom renovation. He is very busy so be patient.

In 2004 I had a custom wall unit and corner TV cabinet built and installed by another company (now out of business). At the time, a 42 inch TV was considered "large" and was the TV cabinet was built so that was the largest that would fit. Times change and TVs get larger. I wanted to replace the corner section of my existing custom unit to enable me to position a larger TV and called Ron Barbour to see if he could do the work. He came out to my house and examined the existing unit. I provided a proposed design and he agreed to do the job. He was able to remove the existing corner unit, install and incorporate the new unit almost seamlessly. He did a very good job in matching the stain, the molding and door style. It is very hard to tell that the new corner unit wasn't always a part of the original 2004 installation. I should note that Ron had many orders pending and advised me on my first meeting that it would be a few months before he could get to my project. When my time came, he worked very quickly on my unit and it was done sooner than I expected. The price was as he initially bid and I considered it very reasonable.

The was the second project done by Ron in the last two years. Because of his excellent workmanship, we decided to call upon him again. Ron built two nightstands and a garage wall cabinet to our specifications. Everything went wonderfully well. Ron is a very professional and talented cabinet maker. He uses top grade materials and his workmanship is excellent. Because of Ron's talents and excellent skills, he a very busy person. Plan on waiting your turn among all the others who want his services. We would highly recommend Ron for any custom cabinetry.
