Arry's Roofing Services

Jayson Hansen came out to the house, climbed on the roof for about 5 minutes, told us there was no damage and that we needed no roof repair. I did not argue with him - and just said thanks for the inspection. We had previously had the insurance company out who ordered a complete roof replacement due to room damage on 50%+ of the overall roof. We had three other companies come out and provide inspections, all three vendors agreed with the insurance company estimates and all 3 vendors + the insurance inspection provided hand written heat maps showing the damage to the roof with consistent damage on the south east side of the house. I don't believe that we got a thorough inspection from Arry's roofing services.

Staff was very professional and service was excellent. They were punctual and finished the entire project in 1 1/2 days. They cleaned up very efficiently. I would definitely refer them to others in need of a new roof.

Overall I was pleased with the service. While they did not fix it correctly the first time they came back and corrected the issue at no charge.

Their representative was very professional and punctual for our initial meeting at the property. He immediately knew where the problem on the roof was and discussed the process to repair the leak; he told us we would get the estimate by the following morning. The actual estimate took a few days longer to receive than promised but it was detailed and precise. They weren't the least expensive of the estimates we received (4 total) but the price was fair after the Angie's List discount. We were told that our "job" would be placed into their system and that we would be notified as to a date for the work to be performed (probably within the next two weeks). Since this was an unoccupied rental property we made it clear that they needed to contact us to schedule a date for repairs to ensure we would be there especially since they would want to be paid upon completion of the job. After the two week period had elapsed, we still had not heard from Arry's so we called only to be told that the work had already been performed without our knowledge. Having our doubts about their claim, they sent us pictures of the job in process. The pictures confirmed that it was indeed our property and, furthermore, we went to the property to conduct a visual inspection and confirmed their claim that he job was done. At that time we submitted our payment in full. Arry's did a good job with the repairs and left the property looking as if they had never been there. We were very happy with their work but disappointed in the fact that they just showed up at the property to do the repairs without any prior coordination. Now that we are getting into the rainy season we will see if the repairs actually fixed our problem. If you decide to contract them, make sure you call them regularly for updates.

The representative was on time and gave a professional presentation. It all came down to price, as to why I did not select them. From what I could tell they are a good company and would provide a good product.

The quote was much higher than everybody else's because they wanted to use a material that provided more longevity, so where everyone quote $4000, their quote was almost double. Otherwise, they were a good company.

Arry's is wonderful to deal with. This is the second time we used them but this was a much larger job. They were responsive to our initial contact, with Brad coming out to the house and completely and professionally explaining that 1) we really did need a roof replacement, 2) what our various options were, and 3) how much it would cost, an inital cost estimate that they hit on the nose. They arrived on the day and the time they said they would and unbelievably almost completed the entire job in one day. They came back the next day just to finish up some odds and ends, explaining the whole time what they were doing and why they were doing it. Their cleanup was outstanding, with us joking we would hire them once a month just to clean up around our house without having them do any roofing work. While they may be a tad more expensive than other roofers, their professionalism, timeliness, and quality makes them well worth the minimal extra cost. Would definitely recommend them to our friends and family, first class operation from the office staff to those that actually did the physical roof replacement.

The repairs were done efficiently and there was no mess left for me to deal with.

The price was good and they did a great job.

They did a very good job. They were here when they said they were going to be here. They got the job done quickly. I was up on the roof quite a bit while they were working and they had a very good team going. They were very professional. I think they did a great job.

Honest. Advised that it was not an emergency to fix and I could hold off until I had the extra money to make the repair.

I have mixed feelings on Arry?s, with the bottom line being mostly positive in the end. On the one hand, they do go out of their way, when all is said and done, to reach out and communicate to be sure you are satisfied with your job, and if you are not satisfied in any way, they ask you in not just one email but several follow-ups to please contact them and let them know about it. I get the feeling they would continue to come back to your house and work with you until you are very satisfied with the work, so that is a huge plus. It also makes it a little hard to complain about anything because really, like I said, they make it very clear that they want you to be happy and so it is really up to you to communicate with them if you aren?t, so that they can make you happy in the end. Also, years before I had this new roof (2013) put on, I had them out to repair the old one. The old roof was put on by a different (BAD, now defunct) company in 1999 and needed a repair in 2004. Arry?s was very ethical because, at that time, I thought I needed a new roof because the other company had done such a poor job in 1999, but Arry?s talked me out of it and said no, this roof has quite a few years more life in it, just get this repair. So I got the repair and the roof did indeed last exactly as long as they estimated it would. I really appreciated them talking me OUT of a new roof when I didn?t need one, as I felt that was very ethical and saved me money, and the good repair job they did back in 2004, so that is why I used them for the new roof in 2013. However, getting the new roof turned into a long, stressful saga, in which they kept rescheduling my job (at least 3 times, and I think it was more like 4 or 5). Apparently, per the owner (who was nice enough to talk with me on the phone), the scheduler was ultimately let go because of issues like this, so hopefully this wouldn?t happen to anyone else, plus I know it is the nature of the roofing business that scheduling has to be somewhat flexible, but I work full time and wanted to take the first day of the roofing job off to be home and speak to the foreperson, and I had to keep rescheduling this at the last minute, which was difficult and stressful with my job/boss. It took a few months to actually get the job started from when I had the estimate. The guy who was the foreman on my job (Wayne) was very good and super accommodating to the customer. He was always available during the job to answer questions, and when I realized the a/c was dead after they drove away the first day, he figured out the next morning that they had jarred something loose in the attic, and he went up there and fixed it, which was awesome. It was a simple thing, yet it was above and beyond what many roofers would have done, and it saved me the hassle of calling an a/c company and then seeing if Arry?s would reimburse me. He just went right up there, figured out what had happened and fixed it. He also then went to Home Depot and got some sort of tie to make sure that the little box that a circuit had fallen out of did not get jarred open again. He was always going above and beyond like that. Lots of stuff came up during the job (like their truck broke down on the first day), yet they had good back-up plans in place for everything. When their truck broke down, they immediately called a third-party they use to come over with a dumpster since they couldn?t bring theirs. They were very professional in the sense of having contingency plans. When the amount of shingles they ordered was shorted somehow, they worked around it until they could get the remaining shingles. They were impressive in many ways, and they left my property VERY clean and free of nails and debris at the end, which was amazing, given what it was like when the job was in process. Now for the not-so-good stuff: I?ve already mentioned how just scheduling the job seemed to take forever and keep getting changed. If I hadn?t kept calling the scheduling person, I wouldn?t have even known, as she never called me, it was always me calling her. Then, when I wanted them to come back and check something out about the job, the scheduler kept telling me they?d come out, yet they wouldn?t show up. It turned out, she never had given them the message. Again, since then, she has been let go, so hopefully the scheduling situation is much improved now. When the guy who came to collect payment for the roof and bring me some warranty paperwork took a picture of the little area of concern I had, that photo somehow never got communicated to Wayne, who ultimately came back out (which again took weeks to schedule), and he ended up caulking the wrong area--some chimney flashing which was not even the area I was concerned about (which is understandable, as he didn?t have the photo that was supposed to be shown to him and it is really hard to point to the area in question, even when you are both standing there), and the way he caulked what he did calk looked really bad cosmetically. He was so nice and accommodating throughout the entire roofing job that I didn?t want to make a big deal about it, and he did calk the tiny area I was concerned about when I pointed out that the chimney flashing wasn?t what I trying to point out?but I did think, after he drove off, geez, that calk around chimney flashing looks really bad, I should have asked him to at least spray paint it with the green paint they painted the flashing with to match it, or to take it off completely as it just doesn?t look right, but by that point, I was pretty much done with the whole months-long process and I didn?t want to make Wayne drive all the way back out again (from Tarpon Springs to St. Pete) just for a cosmetic thing. One last thing I want to mention was actually the worst thing that happened during the entire experience: during the first day of the job, the scheduling person who was since let go, called me at work and said that they were going to have to charge me more than what was in the contract. I asked why and she said because they had found more underlayment?like a layer of felt or something?under part of the roof than what they had expected, which was going to result in more labor. This REALLY seemed wrong to me, because, one, the contract clearly stated that they would remove the old roof, including all old layers of WHATEVER they found, and, two, during the estimate, I had told the estimator (I think his name was Chuck) that the previous roofers I had in 1999 were terrible and had not even taken the old tar paper off, which I had found out after the job (long story). So the estimator knew, at the time of the estimate, that there was old tar paper on there under the 1999 roof. But even if this was some other layer of some sort of felt or whatever it was (I?m not really clear on what it was), too bad: the contract clearly INCLUDED taking everything off the roof from the shingles down to the decking, I don?t care what you find on there. The only thing that is supposed to cost extra is replacing bad/rotten decking with new wood. Anyway, so I objected to that extra charge and she said she would check with the estimator on it, which she did, after which she told me they were NOT going to charge me extra after all. That whole episode did not sit right with me at all, as I felt that was ?bait and switch? with the contract and I was prepared to really make a big deal about it if they hadn?t changed their minds and said they weren?t charging extra. They should not have even tried to do that, as I don?t care what they come across between the shingles and the wood decking, taking it all off is part of the agreed upon price. It turned out, per Wayne, that the extra felt or whatever it was, was only in one little area anyway. They also ended up charging me a lot for replacing decking, when there were only a few pieces, mainly in the garage. I feel like they possibly inflated the cost of the wood to make up for not changing extra for removing more underlayment than they had expected. All that said, when it comes to roofers, Arry?s is one of the better companies out there. Are they perfect? No. But if you are not happy about something, tell them, because they have a big emphasis on making the customer happy. In the end, they did do a beautiful job on the roof. It came with a transferable 25-year warranty on the materials and workmanship, and 50-year on the materials. I?m not positive I?d use them again because of all the scheduling and communication issues, yet I feel like hopefully it was just unfortunate timing that I had to deal with all that before they corrected the situation by letting that person go. Meanwhile, the roof came out gorgeous (except for that one area of calking I mentioned but they would have changed that, I have no doubt, had I not decided to just let it go?I was selling the house anyway at that point, and my realtor said he didn?t think the buyers would care about it since it was just cosmetic). To this day (even though I?ve sold the house and transferred the warranty to the new owners *lol*), I am still getting emails from Arry?s asking if I?m totally satisfied. You do NOT get that level of customer service from most roofers. So I would consider using them again because of their commitment to customer service and quality workmanship.

We worked with Chuck Ankrom as our sales rep to help coordinate this project from the beginning. He helped us interact with window sales/install, siding, soffit and chimney repair at the same time. He was instrumental in the success of this project. This company calls each week to ensure the customer is kept in touch. On roof tear-off day, Jeremy Lincoln was on-site supervisor, keeping the workers organized. Kim Shields, the job supervisor was present to assure success on the job. The roof was nailed to specifications, adding continuous water underlayment to dry it in. Then the chimney and cricket was repaired(reconstructed). After which, the shingles were applied. And the chimney cap was put on by Dave and his crew .Mathew Housh suggested a cap ring be applied and Dave agreed. Today the ring was brought out and installed.

this company is by far the best in the business and took the time to correct another company's botched work. the flat roof was a complicated resolve but Arry's roofing had the patience and determination to see it thru.

I have had two roof leaks since having the roof put on, that was right away. My gutters are also full of debris, including roofing nails. I had roofing nails all in my shrubbery. I had to have someone come and remove it. When it rains I keep getting sheets of debris, including metal, coming down and it is part of the old roof. I had to have someone come and clean my gutters who told me the mess is inexcusable. The flashing that I had them come and put up is not working. After persistent calling they came and a couple of guys got up on the roof and did something. I had been after them and after them to come inside and paint the ceilings that had been stained, but they never did. I don't want to see them ever again in my home. The roof is under a warranty they have not lived up to. I am calling other people to come and fix their mess. I think their price was extremely high for what they did.

Responded to phone inquiry. Came out as scheduled the next day. Was polite and professional. I hired someone else with a better price.

decided to use another roofing company

They were very good. I have nothing bad to say about them. They did everything that they were supposed to. Their follow-up stood out to me. They're very good and polite. They tell me exactly what's going on. They don't do anything without checking first.

They were very efficient and did a very good job.

I've noticed all the TV ads running lately for this vendor. It appears they have enough business to keep them busy without following through with at this prospect. I even called and asked for the sales manager, left my name and number, and didn't get a call back.

They were very professional neat, complete, and cleaned up after themselves. They were done in a day and a half,. I don't think it could have been done much better.

I have used service many times. They show up as scheduled, prices are fair, and job gets done in timely fashion. I have been very happy with their work and will not hesitate to call them again should I need roof service.
