Horrible service, and super crappy job done. Would never show up on time and would push me back in the schedule, wouldn’t bother to call and let me know. I had to call multiple times to get it figured out, also had to call multiple times for them to just send receipts for service or even a digital copy of a quote. After the job was done, the closet where the indoor unit sits flooded, luckily I found it early. Oh and did I mention they tried to STEAL the UV light from my old system rather then transferring to the new one like they were supposed to, I called them out as they were packing up and they gave me the excuse that the transfer wasn’t listed on the job description/contract…. So I said you either transfer it or give it to me because the UV light was purchased by me previously and paid for… I own it… so they then they finally removed it from the old system and transferred it to the new one. I have absolutely no peace of mind that the job was done to standard, and I have no trust in the work they performed. Do not go with this company!

On 1/13/23, a tech came to the home, and we signed a contract for a new AC unit with three returns. On 02/10/23, the techs came to the home and installed the new AC unit. They informed me they could not install the returns until the AC unit passed inspection. I was told by the installers that Jolene would contact me to schedule the inspection. I was told to go ahead and pay for the returns, and they would come back after inspection and complete the work or credit me if I discovered they were not needed with the output of the new AC unit. I did not receive a call the week of 2/13-2/17. I paid by check and figured the company was waiting for the check to clear to call me. The check cleared on 2/16/23. I called on 2/24/23 to inquire and was told Jolene would call me back. As of 2/26/23, I still have not received a call. I also have not received a paid receipt because I have not received a call to request it. I filed a BBB complaint and the company responds to the complaint but I still have not received my inspection nor been refunded the three returns I paid for.

The system flooded my house did over $10,000 worth of damage they failed inspection by the county of Pasco Chief mechanical inspector failed them they've been 6 months they don't return phone calls they're not doing anything about it is I'm a handicap person and he told me to f off and I was the owner that said that they will not answer my phone calls but if I call from somebody else's phone they answer it right away they are not doing anything to help me they're not doing anything to fix the problems on which they caused they failed for the electrical they failed for the pain the ceiling and they failed for the switches which stopped the water from flooding your home it's supposed to shut the system off they failed instead I woke up to my house flooded I have pictures I am willing to share them with anyone who wants to see them I have the documents from the county on what they failed to do correctly the quick disconnect on the outside of my house is a 1960s 1970s they were supposed to put a new one in and instead they installed that and that's why it failed they do not do what they say they're going to do they never show up on time he sent the gentleman to my house to dry it out a week after the flood and when I wouldn't accept $375 is payment for the damage to my house at Servpro says it's over 10,000 and I gave him an offer that they could have had my handyman fix it the 700 wouldn't accept it so they packed this s*** up and they left and didn't do a d*** thing the refusing to speak to me they refusing to do their job as far as I'm concerned they take advantage of the handicapped and the elderly the owner don't care they told me I had to pay that night they installed the system said it was done the next day they called and told me I had the wrong breakers in my break a box that they had to come out and replace them then they had to come out and do this switch so they weren't done but they made me pay that I have witnesses to all these problems that I'm having I have the chief mechanical inspector of Pasco county telling me what they did wrong and what they needed to do but they refusing to do their job they're refusing to give me what I paid for they're refusing to give me what they promise I would never do business with them they're a con man they're not a good company they're not reputable I get better service from the 14-year-old boy that mows my lawn and does my yard work then I get from that company the owner thinks because he lives in Dade county he's untouchable and again his exact words were to me was f you

I purchase a air condition unit from Universal Air a year ago and I’m already having issues with it. I would not recommend them to no one not if you value your dollar. The people there even the general manager don’t value there customers at all. If you need a new unit I would advise you to go somewhere else. This company will give you the run around so please make sure you get everything in writing because they will lie to you in your face. I wish I could do a do over because I would not choose Universal Air EVER!!

do not do business with this company. i purchased a new top end a/c install unit from this company and in past year they have had to come out at least 10 times and it still isn't working i called them friday morning after waking up to water pouring out of my hallway cieling light fixture for the third time (electrical short anyone?) and into my cieling and onto my brand new hardwood floors. i called and asked for Matt in the office and after being on hold for 45 minutes i could hear someone pick up (could hear back ground office noise) and hang up on me. i called back and was told matt couldn't get on phone and i shouldnt be talking to him , best of all they couldn't get out till Saturday morning. saturday Morning (11am)Zeke shows up at tells me the unit they installed was not put in properly and the drain pan was wedged under the fiber duct and was being pushed down and all water draining from unit was going over the edge and not towards the drain and he couldn't fix it and omar the installer should be the one coming out to fix his mistake. he saif he would call the office and call me back 7 1/2 hours later and no call (the office closes at 2pm). i called their field supv richard at 4pm and he said he would get in touch with someone and call me back . no call back from him either. hope your getting the picture here. inferior craftmanship, extreme lack of customer service losy follow up. and dont get me started on the leaky condensor they fixed twice (leaking from same spot they fixed first time that should have just been replaced since the unit was brand new) or the three times they came out for other water leaks from their unit. I have been more than fair and patient with them but their lack of compassion and business ethics are deplorable. they are quick to take your money but fixing their mistakes it appears seems to be best handled through legal counsel.

It was excellent. Randy was the technician and he was very professional and explained what he was going to do. I would highly recommend their service . The ultraviolet reduced the electric bill because the AC did not run as often and we saw the savings in our electric bill.

Very good. They called to remind me when they were going to be here. Like they said they would. He did some extra stuff. cleaned the outside of my unit. I really appreciated it. He flushed out the drainage that was full of algae and mold. He really did a good job cleaning it, it was discussing work.
Description of Work: I found a coupon to do a service call and get my ducts cleaned. There was a big build up of stuff that needed to be cleaned. The UV light needed to be replaced.

The service was efficient and the people at the office is very good about communicating and following up. The rates are reasonable and we already referred them to other people.
Description of Work: We had an air conditioner that backed up and water is leaking. They came in and took care of getting the rug out of the stair bedroom and found out what the issue is. They found out molding and the ducts were replaced as well.

Universal did a great job replacing my old main AC system. The crew arrived as scheduled, never took a break and were professional and courteous during the full day of work in high heat. The kept me informed of their progress, respected my property and did a full clean up of the work area before leaving. They even re-programmed my Nest through the tech advanced set up for the new unit. Mike walked me through several options before we decided on an 16 SEER heat pump with a 2 stage compressor with a variable speed air handler. Glad I listened, saving $30-$40 per month now. The permit inspector said they did a "top notch" installation, one of the best he's seen in a while. I was so happy with there work, I had them do a replacement of my smaller 1.5 ton system, same specs as the main system. I did have one hiccup where my Nest was showing a warning. I called Universal and they were out the next morning. It turned out to be a bad float switch in the drip pan which they just changed. They were done in an hour and all good since. I would recommend them to anyone looking for AC service or replacement units.

I called Universal Air & Heat to fix my ac due to it not cooling properly. I spoke with Steven over the phone and he was very proficient with helping set up an appointment to get a technician out to my home. They came out the next day due to the time I called and the technician Bobby was amazing. Very professional and polite. I felt very comfortable with the tech. He was very knowledgeable and got my ac back to cooling amazing with in no time, and at an affordable rate. I would definitely use this company again to fix my air conditioner.

Installation went well, price fair. No pre or post pictures taken per company. County inspectors Red Flagged several issues which have not as yet, past 6 months installation, been addressed or repaired. County Inspector told me ‘’Air is gushing out of the air handler. You’re literally hearing and cooling your attic’’. He said Universal had to contact me within 3 weeks.... never happened and repairs had to be made by 6 months. We are past 6 months. NO REPAIRS made and I am cooling my attic. My electric bill is higher than normal and has been for 6 months. I’ve made several phone calls and was told “ I will get back with you (Bill) , I will contact you as soon as I know something (Bill), I will call you back in 30-40 min (Steven 3/14/19). NO ONE CALLED BACK!!! Received a call from main office in Ft. Lauderdale telling me the Tampa office is backlogged and they were sending someone to take pictures bc no pre /post pictures were taken. Richard, the salesman, and only decent person there, took pictures. Told me I would hear from the office. No one has contacted me. 3/14/19 I called the Ft. Lauderdale Office. Spoke to Steven. Explained situation. He put me on hold and returned telling me that someone was going to let him know what the follow up was going to be and that he would call me back in 30-40 min. That was Thur. 3/14. Today is Sunday 3/17..... longest 30-40 minutes ever. I filed a complaint with The BBB and agreed to speak to media. No one has contacted me regarding the first maintenance work up as guaranteed on their contract. I read some other reviews where people are complaining about that issue. I was warned not to go with Universal but their price was anywhere from $1200-2000 lower. One company wanted $7200. They think single female homeowners are stupid. They warned me about Universal having good prices but complaints galore. I can handle the complaints. Will I recommend Universal to anyone? I will share my experiences and tell them to do the research and make Up theorie ownw kind. Of Universal doesn’t want to followup with miantenence, I’ll go to my #1 Man Robert Wasilewski at Anytime Air. 727-439-4399. He’s Rheem’s nummer one man.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. They are incompetent and have awful Customer Service. If I ran my business like this I would be out of business. We called regarding a problem with leaking ducts on a Friday and were promised a visit by a technician, the next day, on a Saturday, between 12-6. We had to cancel a special event and sit around all day waiting for this technician. The technician never SHOWED or CALLED. We called the company, no one answered and left a message. The message was not returned until the next day, on Sunday. The dispatcher claimed the technician showed up at 2:30. We told him we were here the whole time and no one showed up. We already had an appointment scheduled for Monday. They called us to tell us that they would be out between 8-10am. They didn't show up between that time. We called and spoke to dispatcher, who said that he would call the technician and put me on hold and never came back to the phone. I called again and spoke to another Customer Service Representative. I told her to forget the call and that we would call someone else. She got snippy with me. I asked her how am I going to get my deposit back and she told me she would have a manager call us back. My wife called back again to speak to the manager and she hung up on her. The initial call, the technician came in to our house in a nice pressed uniform, but did not inspect the system. He did not want to climb up in the attic, if he had he would have seen the pools of water leaking from the system. The problem continued for another two weeks when water stains started forming our ceiling. This company makes claims of 24 hour emergency service, but don't show up. This company makes claims that their techs are withing 20 miles at any time but don't show up. This company makes claims that their techs carry I-pads and takes pictures. He did, but it died on him during the call and was not able to take our credit card for a deposit to have work done on the unit.

They gave an average price. The thing is, and they were fine putting it in and the installer was really good. I can say they did a good job putting it in. However, they didn't follow up well at all. In fact, with the contract they were supposed to come out for two different times for maintenance to check the freon and just to check to make sure it was working right. I had to call them three times and they didn't come out once. I had to finally get them to come out the first time and they just sort of walked around. I had to get them to put on the equipment for the freon to check it. They were just going to walk around and look at it. Then they were supposed to come out for the second time which would have been one year later. I had an appointment for them to come out and they never showed up. I called them and they never called back. I saw the guy who was the salesman driving around the neighborhood because he was helping someone else out and he said "I'll get back to you about that," and he never did. Apparently they don't ever plan on doing their maintenance that they put in their contracts so it's really bad. I thought it was really poor. The quality of the Carrier system that they put in and the installation was probably an "A". They were good about initially getting back to me. They sent somebody to do the estimate and he was pretty good too, the salesman, but that was the same guy that I saw in the neighborhood that said he was going to get back to me about coming back about maintenance. I never heard from him and never heard from his company. For responsiveness, in the beginning they were good and the end they were terrible. They are a company that doesn't want to do their maintenance that they say in their contracts. I had to call them over, and over, and over again for the first one. They did come out but they weren't even going to put on the equipment to check the freon until i asked, "aren't you supposed to check the freon to see if it's all right?" He said, "yeah we can do that," and then he comes out and does it. Then the second time I couldn't even get him to come out. I saw the guy in the neighborhood and he never bothered to tell the company or come by or anything. They owe me a maintenance, but they haven't done it. It's bad on the company's part to do that because what that means is I'm never going to tell my neighbors about them. A couple of neighbors have asked me "what kind of air conditioning company should I use?" I can never mention them just because they didn't come out for two maintenance checks. It's a stupid business that their doing.

terrible. Other than the price, I recommend nothing about this company. Took 3 days on a 1 day job, failed city inspection of install, did not install 2nd return as asked (didnt give written quote until after the entire unit was built and installed- meaning they would have to build onto it instead of building it to support it in the first place.) , customer service was non existent when I brought concerns to them. I was also told I would receive some extra services such as duct cleaning if I did install with them- didn't happen. Box they built had multiple leaks that I had to point out. They left wires hanging down. I asked for multiple services (to which I gladly would pay) and just never got them. They did the bare minimum. I regret doing business with Universal air and heat. The employees leave a lot to be desired and I am uninterested in letting anyone from that company work on my stuff. I will find others to fix the mess that these guys created and just flat out did not do.
