The floor and paint job was not done as we had expected. In particularly the floor was not done to our expectations. Had to pay others to finish the work properly. Most of the rest was done ok. We feel we paid top prices for average work. We also had to redo some of the wall paint ourselves. The contact person Chris beckwith is really great. He salvaged a bad situation. The owner is the kind of person who never admitts he/his company did something wrong. It is always the clients or someone else's error. After we had a signed contract, he called and said he had made a mistake and wanted a lot more money for the kitchen counter tops.. We had to get another company to do that. He also promised that he would have the job done by a certain date fully knowing that we were living in a rental apatment and had to move once our lease was up. We moved while renovation work was still going on with all the dust, etc that goes with a renovation. This after numerous calls to him to get people to work on our place without response. He kept saying "dont worry, it will be finished on time". The last two days before we moved in there were a bunch of people trying to finish on time which caused some of the work not to be as good as we expected. All the doors were to be painted. The job was done so bad (Paint bubbled all over) that they had to take all of the doors out of the home to the painters shop to sand and repaint. The owner claimed it was our fault or of the previous owner because some "cleaner was used to clean the doors which prevented the paint from sticking" and bubbles formed all over. We had just moved so we did not clean anything. I think it was just poor paint quality or something else. After a while I refused to talk to the man and only dealt with Chris Beckwith, the job's foreman, who took care as much as he could of all the problems. Mr Beckwith was punctual and kept all of his promises.

We approached Chris about an expansion to our house in August. Our family has grown and we needed more living space, but only had a vague idea of how to get there. Our house had an attached 2-car garage with roughly 440 sq ft, and when we started discussing possibilities with Chris, we came to realize that the best way to get what we were looking for was to convert the garage. We were working with a limited budget as well and appraised Chris of this at that time. Chris drew up his ideas for a layout, which we revised a couple of times (mostly because of my inaccurate measurements). We knew that we would still need a garage, so Chris did a rough design for a detached 2 car garage to be placed in the backyard off our side street (we are on a corner lot). It did not take long to get very comfortable with the drawings, so Chris drew up a budget based on our needs as well as the money available. Once everything was agreed, we signed the paperwork and started construction in Mid-September 2009. Chris did a fantastic job of minimizing costs where he could. Because we were building the addition and the new garage concurrently, there was not a lot of downtime. On days one project was being inspected, Chris would move the workers over to the other project and vice-versa. The teams of workers that he used worked hard, fast, and with a high-level of professionalism. If there were any issues, they were immediately taken care of during the work, and we quickly passed inspection after inspection with no problems. We were amazed at how fast the work progressed. We completed construction on both projects towards the end of November (on schedule). Chris felt confident that completion before Thanksgiving was a possibility and it happened. We'd like to point out some of the things that impressed us about the whole project: Chris was very hands-on throughout the project. We never felt like we were less important than other construction he was working on, and he has a great working relationship with his teams. When there was work that needed to be done to stay on schedule and the workers could not be there for some reason, he jumped in and did it himself. We did have some surprises that weren't originally accounted for in the budget. The City required us to pour a driveway apron because the garage door faced a street, so we went ahead with a full driveway, which we were not originally planning to do immediately. Additionally, because the garage door arrangement in the existing garage required special hardware, it was twice as much as we had originally figured. Regardless, Chris was able to negotiate and move things around so that when the project was finished, our only overage was less than 2% of the total cost. On top of this, when we told him we needed to do a "budget" build, we figured we would get contractor-grade fixtures, etc. We were very surprised to still get custom-made cabinets and counters in the bathroom, Moen fixtures, and a custom shower enclosure. Most the spots where we figured we would have to cut corners we were pleasantly surprised. The bottom line is this: You can't do better than working with Chris Beckwith and Titan One for your renovations. In our experience, the work was high quality and it was done on budget and on schedule.
Description of Work: Titan One added ~400 sq ft of living space and a detached garage/workshop to our house: Master suite (bedroom, bathroom, and 3 closets), additional 1/2 bath, laundry, and a detached 2 car garage. Chris Beckwith did the rough design for all the space, then managed the construction process through all of it.
