The Maids of Clearwater

The Maids of Clearwater was prompt, the supervisor came in to check the work, and they did a good job but I think one of the showers could have been cleaned better and the price was too high.

I would definitely not recommend this business to anyone. We used The Maids in South Tampa bi-weekly for 6 years and never had a problem (loved them!). When we moved, they could not continue to clean for us because the Clearwater franchise owned the Westchase area where we moved. I called the Clearwater franchise to come and do our new house move-in clean and was very unhappy with their service. The team was supposed to stay for as long as needed as we paid by the hour but they were rushed out by the manager who said they had to get to another job. In their defense, there was also a little bit of commotion at the house because our contractor was still there finishing up a few odds and ends but he did his best to stay out of their way. The cleaning staff did not speak any English so he was even trying to translate a few things for my mother-in-law who was there supervising. She was asking them to make sure they covered specific cleaning issues that they had missed. The owners told me this was a distraction but they were just trying to make sure everything was done correctly before we got there later with the moving truck. Plus, we were told we'd have as much time as necessary so this should not have been an issue. I feel that we paid an exorbitant amount of money for the subpar job that was done ($455). For example, there were pieces of carpet from the new carpet that had been installed all over the upstairs, particularly all over the hardwood floor upstairs. This should have easily been vacuumed up by the team. Also, the built-in shelves in my closet were disgusting and had very large layers of dust on them from when the wood floors had been sanded/refinished. I expected that these shelves would all be cleaned and ended up with dust all over my clothes when I went to put them away. The inside of many of the kitchen and bathroom drawers had not been cleaned thoroughly either. These are just a few examples but, needless to say, we were extremely disappointed and frustrated that we kept having to take out the vacuum and cleaning products to clean areas in the house before we could unpack. I was in communication with the owners many times regarding my disappointment as I had intented to hire them for our bi-weekly cleaning moving forward if the price and quality were good. First they offered me $100 off my next clean but then they changed it to $75 off each of my next 2 cleans. I told them I felt I deserved a free clean to make up for the poor quality of the move-in clean and to prove to me the quality that I could expect moving forward. I never heard back from them after that. I was not thrilled with the pricing for their regular cleaning anyways and there seemed to be a lot of add-ons that you needed to pay extra for. I ended up hiring another company that does a great job and includes a lot more services for a lot less money (The Royal Maid Service on N. Florida Ave.). I was very disappointed with The Maids of Clearwater.
