 + -1 moreI found Lighting Unlimited on Angie's List. I drove to their store and called from the parking lot describing my lighting problem. This is significant because I use a wheelchair and jumping out of the car for inexact services wastes my time. Gail Osnos answered the phone telling me that I could bring the lamp in. I left the lamp; Gail stated that Tuesday was their repair day. I left the lamp on Thursday. Gail called me the following day and the lamp was repaired ahead of schedule! I did not pick it up until the following Wednesday because I was out of town.
Description of Work: I needed a light bulb stem removed from my lamp; the bulb broke making it impossible to remove the stem.

Most recently, the gentleman gave me an answer about the compact fluorescents and I later was in the store speaking with a lady about the same problems. She indicated that the opposite was in fact true--I found that the gentleman had given me incorrect information. I was under the impression that he was an expert, but he may have just been trying to please his customers. I would consider them in the future for equipment purchase, but I would not consult them for their expertise.
Description of Work: Awhile back, I asked them about specifications for compact fluorescents--specifically, I needed to know if I could substitute a higher-equivalency wattage bulb in a lamp rated for lower wattage--my lamp is rated for 60 watts, and I asked if I could use a 30 watt florescent bulb.

 + -1 moreI BOUGHT AN ANTIQUE LAMP AT A FLEA MARKET EVEN THOUGH THE SELLER TOLD ME THAT HE DID NOT THINK THAT IT WORKED, IT DIDN'T. I HAVE DEALT WITH LIGHTING UNLIMITED BEFORE, BUT HAD NOT USED THEIR REPAIR SERVICE. I KNEW THAT THEY HAD AN EXCELLENT SELECTION OF LAMPS, SHADES, AND FINIALS. I BROUGHT IN MY LAMP, WAS GIVEN A QUOTE AND TOLD WHEN IT WOULD BE READY. THE QUOTE WAS ACCURATE AND THE LAMP WAS READY AS PROMISED. BEST OF ALL, THE PRICE WAS RIGHT!

Description of Work: I gave them two very old and tall brass table lamps. The wiring, which had corroded with age were cleaned up and put in perfect working order within four working days for $42.80. At the time, I was on crutches and the lady in the store carried the lamps to and from the store. Excellent service.
