I had some roof damage from a tree limb falling on my roof and I called Stay-Dry to repair it. I had eariler gotten a bid for a full roof replacement because my roof was nearing the end of its life, but hadn't moved forward. They came out and fixed my roof and did a good job with it. About a year later, I had them replace my roof. It is beautiful! Their salesman had worked with me to help me decide on the ideal color and it was better looking than I expected. Since then they have done 2 more roofs for me on investment properties and did a great job there too. I have referred them many times and everyone to whom I have referred them has been pleased.
Description of Work: They installed a new roof.

It was a very good experience. One slight problem, they punctured the AC line but they certainly got that all taken care of.
Description of Work: We thought the pricing was fair for the size of the home they were doing the roof for. They replaced the entire roof. The were here three days, and it was the same crew each day. They worked very hard.

We hired this company to re-roof our home. Things seemed okay until we had several reasons to call them back. #1) There was a siding tile damaged during the job. I had to point it out during the punch-list with the sales rep. He said they would take care of it. Had to call several times and was finally told that they were waiting for a building supply company to get the siding back in stock. I called the supply company and was told that they had plenty and have not been out of stock. Strike 1. #2) I had to call and request that someone come out after the job to get nails picked up around the house. Even after someone came by with a magnetic tool on wheels, I still picked up 80 + nails by hand . . . just by walking around the house! Many loose nails were in our driveway. Strike 2. #3) I got burned by the fine print in the contract because it reads: and quot;Replace flashing AS REQUIREDand quot;. I thought for sure that the old rusty flashing that had been on the house for several decades would be replaced. Especially the visible flashing around our chimney. Nope. Sure enough I had to call about two years after the job because I was up on the roof and noticed that the flashing was coming away from the bricks. Once again I had to call several times and request that a sealant be applied to the gap. Apparently it was too late because water has been entering for quite a while. Strike 3. I'm done with this company. I will not deal with them again. I would have been more than pleased to pay additional for the flashing if they cared enough to ask.
Description of Work: Re-roof. Remove old roofing and replaced some damaged wood.

In 2004 or 2005 They did a great job on the gabled roof and failed on the flat roof part of our house. They continue to come out fix the same leak as we end rainy season. Then next big rain we call to complain. They come out put up a tarp and blow us off until rainy season is over. The first couple years I give them credit for coming out and trying. I even gave them credit for redoing inside drywall that fell in or molded and reprinting to match. I'm patient. Feb 2013, they completed all work related to our roof! We are happy to say our flat roof is not leaking at all and they paid for duct cleaning to bring the house back to a healthy place to live. Thank you Stay Dry!!
Description of Work: Replaced flat roof and gabled roof on our house. Replaced inside drywall and repainted it. Came out about three times yearly ever since making some attempts to repair the roof. 6/2012 They did completely fix the flat roof area of our home includng water damaged wood going above and beyond our expectations. They agreed that ifwe made arrangements with a duct cleaning company to clean ducts and remove mold that resulted from leaky roof. they would pay for it due to my allergies. After some time working to contact Stay Dry the did coordinate with the Duct Cleaning company and paid for the company of our choice. Work was completed last week 2/6/13! We are so thankful they did follow through, our home is now useable and comfortable!!!

Response from Stay Dry Roofing of Tampa Bay Inc
Stay-Dry Roofing has returned to the property and resolved the leak that was near the A/C Duct, going through the roof. Once we are certain that the leak has stopped we will repair the ceiling damage. This leak had turned out to be more complex then it appeared and Stay-Dry Roofing is confident that this issue has been solved. Thank you, Curtis Shrader Superintendent of Stay-Dry Roofing

I have to echo the other reviewers complaint about not hearing back from them. I took time off of work to meet Manny at my house to evaluated my roof for leaks. He had to cancel the first appointment due to rain - can't help that. When he did make it out to my home the second time, he was punctual and professional, and he took my email address and told me that he would send me a quote that evening. Never heard from him ever again. I called Stay Dry - they said I would have to contact Manny myself. I called, left messages with my cell phone number and my email address on multiple occasions. Never had another response from them. So, I not only wasted my time off work, but as the weeks dragged on I could have had someone else out to do the repair. So - if you call Stay Dry, you take the chance that you will be wsting your time. You decide if its worth it.
Description of Work: We only got as far as Manny coming out to assess the roof for leaks.

They evaluated the leak and then performed a small roof repair. They were responsive, effective and economical. They did not try to sell a bigger job than it was and they did it pretty quickly. And now, no more leak. Exactly what I needed.

I appreciated the company's honesty in not being the ideal company for the job. They are qualified to do the job but would have to do more extensive work than what is required. The estimator recommended that I use a handyman type of company to do the repair work at a lower cost.

Manny showed up for estimate on time. He was only one of estimators who came who actually got ON the roof to measure it and appraise it's condition. He gave an immediate estimate and went over it with me explaining in detail what was included and options. I did research on Internet for roofing standards for Florida and checking out products on GAF website. Stay-dry was one of 4 area MasterElite roofers listed on the GAF website. Crew showed up on time each day and battled the every day afternoon rain storms to get the roof finished. Job should have taken at the most, 2.5 days in good weather. It took them a week....they were ALWAYS soaked to the skin, but I never had a leak the whole time. When I asked if the new vent flashings they were installing were squirrel proof, they said no, just lead. Asked them to put roofing cement around the tops to keep squirrels away (squrrels love to sharpen their teeth on these). They said they couldn't because Building inspectors think they are hiding something. They offered instead to put squirrel cages over the flashing to keep them off. These are hardware cloth sleeves that squirrels don't bother. These were added at no charge to me. WONDERFULL! They went over the grounds carefully looking for nails and such when the job was finished. I know they missed at least one. But they came back the same day when called and spent an hour looking for more. All in all it was a job well done. If my knees were better I would have done the job myself. I am more than capable to do so. I have worked construction including masonry, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and roofing. These guys did a great job. I was listening to the nail guns as they shingled and I never heard less than the promised 6 nails to the shingle (one guy did 6 and the other did 7). Listened to neighbors roofers and they were lucky to get 4, normally it was 2-3 per shingle. Quality work, I like it!
Description of Work: Complete roofing tear-off, re-roofing with top of line GAF Dimension Shingles and complete Peel and Stick underlayment to satisfy Homeowners insurance discount. Threw in new Skylight glazing assembly as old one was deteriorated.

Had an appt. set for 3:30; at 5:00 I called Manny after not hearing from him and he said he drove by and it was getting ready to rain so he went on to another stop, he thought I wanted repairs because a tarp was on my roof. He had he whole message wrong; I need a new roof and I was a repeated customer; they put my roof on years ago at another home. Not the same caring customer service. He made another appt. with me for 3 days later and didn't show up. I called again and never got a return call. Must have all the business they need.

I do not understand getting no call back. We didn't even get to price. They just flat ignored me. What bugs me is that I had an active leak. I told them this. I even told them I joined Angie's List so I could find reliable help!
Description of Work: I called Stay Dry for help. I picked them specifically because they were top-rated on Angie's List. I even told them that I found them on Angie's List and that was why I picked them. I explained my situation. They took all my info and said I would get a call from one of their estimators to schedule an appointment. I never heard anything. I lost a couple of days progress on a leak because once I called Stay Dry, I didn't call anybody else.

Selected Stay Dry Roofing after reading reviews on Angies List and then getting quotes from a few of them. Stay Dry came in with a very competive quote and were able to schedule us in a timely manner. They were also able to accomodate a change in my schedule and move a week. They said it would take two days to complete the project and that is what it took. I am overall very satisfied with the job that they did and would highly recommend them to anyone who needs roof work.

The owner inspected the roof. He explained what needed to be done, how he would do the job, the materials to be used. He showed us examples of tile, and quoted a price. We made the decision to have Stay Dry Roofing do the job. He gave us a beginning date and an approximated ending date. The job was done on time. The workmen did an excellent clean-up job. There was a minimum of roofing tacks found around the house.
Description of Work: Removed existing 3-tab shingle roof and removed all debris.Bad lumber removed. Applied new underlayment of 2-ply 15lb felt. Replaced all vents, pipe flashing and valley materials as required.Applied new 6" eave trim. Applied new fiberglass shingle roof. I called three other roofing companies and got, no answer for 3 days and a full mail box, a answer, but no return call as promised, an return call and the politely told repairs were 7 weeks out and this company. They called me back, scheduled a visit within a few days, came on time and did they work. A few days later when it rained we heard dripping in the fireplace. We waited to see if it would happen again when it rained. It did a few days later. We called, we set up an appointment and they came out and fixed what may have been a separate problem. Assuming we do not have any future leaks I am a satisfied customer.
Description of Work: I had moldy carpeting in two rooms and it seemed it might be a problem related to the fireplace. They found the place on the roof where there was a leak and their fixed it (shingled roof). We also had them look at a problem we had been having with our flat room and they fixed that as well.

Job went according to plan. Started on time and took 4 days with 2 crews (approx 4900 sq ft). Finished a day ahead of schedule. Cleaned around house - no nails or pieces of roofing to be found. the removed all the old roofing placing it in the dumpster by carring everything across the roof to one dumpster (not all shoveled off the roof on bushes). I was impressed with this process after having other roof jobs dones elsewhere. One tip I've learned is that roofers don't care what goes down your guyyrt down spouts. Since mine run underground, I taped them closed at the gutter so they don't get cloogged. After they left, I opened them up. After 3 quotes, they did five me the best price and with am Angie's list grade of A, they seemed like the logical choice.
Description of Work: Remove old roofing. Renailed entire rood for wind midigation. Peel n Stick water shield applied to entire roof. New ridge vents installed. New exhaust vents installed. New shingles installed with 6 nails each. Removed and cleaned entire area.

Initial quote was for materials with 12 year warranty, specifically asked for 20 year warranty materials which were recommended by other roofers with adhesive for underlying layer instead of nailed on, but ended up with less expensive option. Price was very good price on services performed. Work was done promptly and professionally, three areas needed replacement underlying wood all done for no charge (quote said no charge for first $100 of bad lumber). Very pleased with result. Price included discount for Angies List members.
Description of Work: 15 year old roof was leaking into kitchen. Staydry replaced nearly flat roof (at one time was gravel roof), 28 sqrs with 43# base sheet and modified bitumen capsheet w/ 12 year warranty, removed build up and former roofing. Removed all debris, replaced some bad wood on roof, finished edging on roof.

I contacted three Angies List Roofing companies. One did not clean roofs, one never returned my call. Stay Dry returned my call the same day and I then spoke with Curits. I cannot say enough good things about how professional Curtis was from the very beginning to the time the job was finished! Curtis, who is a superintendent with the company, was on time for our initial meeting, he explained in detail how they would clean the roof without any chemicals, and how they would make sure the house itself would stay clean during the process. Our home is cream colored and the tile roof is terra cotta colored. Curtis was here promptly each day to start his crew, and at times worked along side with the two crew members, Matt and Kyle. Matt and Kyle were very respectful young men that worked extremely hard and took pride in their work. From the very first day to the last day, everything was left clean. The work was hard, wet, and hot, but these young men never slowed down. They did a fabulous job. At the end of the job, Curtis and the young men pressure washed the sidewalk and the front entry of my home, even though this was not part of the initial bid, it was just the icing on the cake of a job that was not only well done, but done beautifully. I would highly recommend this company!
Description of Work: Inspected and then pressure washed the entire tile roof, then replaced and or repaired any broken tiles. They also pressure washed the chimney and the pool screen enclosure including all the pavers. Pressure washing was also done at the front entrance and the sidewalk.

Stay-Dry was not the cheapest and not the most expensive. They (Manny the estimator) listened to what I wanted (a solution to my problem flat roof) and designed a tapered roofing system that helpes divert water off of the flat roof so it does not "pool." The tapered system also provides an insulation effect and increases the RH value under the flat roof. It's been a year and no leaks and the solution continues to work like a charm. They provided a warranty that exceeded the others. This was a perfect experience.
Description of Work: Removed existing membrane from flatroof. Applied 11/8th tapered system. Applied two layers of speciality base sheet. Applied Peel-N-Stick modified bitumen cap sheet. Installed new 6' white eave trim, new L-Flashing and counter flashing. Cleaned and hauled away all work-relate debris. Provided a 5 year workmanship warranty and a 12 year material warranty.
