During one of the hottest periods of this summer, with many of the air-conditioners in our neighborhood running as they never had before, including ours, the crew from Stay-Dry Roofing arrived to begin the arduous task of not burning to a cinder while they started our re-roof with removing a very old concrete tile roof that had received many patches previously. It's time had come and in talks with several roofing companies we felt very comfortable with Manny and the prospects of Stay-Dry Roofing's possibilities; their reputation; and the fantastic price they gave us as an estimate. The heat endured on each and every day of the project was incredible. That they were able to make the progress they did in the time that they were able to work was simply remarkable. In the evenings after they had left, I would talk with my neighbors, and the only topic we could discuss with relevance was the unbearable heat. I would wonder how the crew was going to survive this, while I nodded in agreement to the mostly unheard discussion that was being had about whether their air-conditioners were going to survive this heat spell. The roof, a brief distance away, seemed to be an ominous sign of the days to come. Inside the temperature was 85 degrees as the air-conditioner simply could not keep up with the heat; as heavy hammering of nails surrounded me like a military cadence. These modern day John Wayne's were made of the same diligent, enduring relentless cowboy spirit it would take to finish this unbearable task. When my wife and I see our roof now, we are content with the feeling we made the right choice with Stay-Dry Roofing, not only did they mange through the heat, their artisanship shows in every detail. They also stayed within the original estimate. Quite a feat... but maybe not for Stay-Dry Roofing?

We had a few leaks and it became evident that we were going to have to replace the roof a lot earlier than we anticipated. We called Stay-Dry and they were very responsive and provided a competitive quote. They took the time to explain what they were going to do, what the costs were for, and answered my questions patiently (which were numerous as I am a first time homeowner...). They worked for three days. They were prompt every single day and polite when I talked to them. They were very good about cleaning up the debris left from the replacement. Except for a piece of shingle that got lodged in a branch in a tree out front, you would never know they were there. After they completed their work, they sent someone to do a final inspection and answer any final questions). The roof looks great and I look forward to a number of leak free years! I would definitely recommend their services.

From start to finish, my experience with Stay-Dry Roofing was excellent. When I requested and estimate, the estimator showed up when scheduled, walked me through the process and described in detail my options, and what they would do by default. Once the work started, the crew was very good at keeping me updated on progress and issues found with my roof system. They uncover two problem areas I was not aware of (It was a good thing I did this before this years rainy season). When the work was completed, they cleaned up well. I will defiantly consider Stay-Dry Roofing of Tampa Bay for any future roofing needs.

Is it asking too much for an explanation as to why he decided that he did not want to do my roof?
Description of Work: I called to get an estimate for re-roofing my house. Curtis was polite, punctual, and professional and spent about half an hour looking at my roof. We discussed my problem roof and he told me what he intended to use and that he would give me an estimate on Monday. Despite my attempts to contact him, he has yet to get back to me. I find that very unprofessional.

Stay Dry Roofing of Tampa Bay was good however they didn't do everything they said they were going to do so I had to have them come out and finish up what they didn't do what they said they were going to do. I was looking at reviews and they had good reviews. There was nails still left over which I had taken pictures of and I sent to the owner because he didn't clean up the nails very well. A couple of the nails were actually sticking up out of the ground so if anyone would have stepped on them they would go right through their shoe. Jut the fact that they said they were going to replace all the boots on the roof and also put flushing on the sides, two levels net, where the roof met the gable I believe and they didn't do that so I had to make them come back out to do that. There was a section where he had to actually pull up the new roof, put the flushing down and put down the section of the new rood so I just hope that at this point that hasn't caused any damage that where later on down the road it's going to affect anything like if we have a hurricane or something.

We went through years of attempting to rid our home of a leaky roof. Each year they were having scheduling issues and would fix our house by dry season, the next wet season we'd call them back out. They'd investigate and attempt to repair without charge! Finally, they practically rebuilt part of our roof to get things right. We are so impressed!

The individual who came out to give me a quote was nice and professional. Price was competitive with the other quotes I received. It took four days to install my new roof. My only issue is they didn't replace all the necessary plywood. We had a leak in our roof a year ago (hence why I was in need of a new one). There is obvious repairs done to the plywood... like pieces of wood glued to the old plywood. After the whole roof was done, we went up into my attic to see if they replaced the wood and NO. They left all the very obvious damaged wood. When I asked the and quot;inspectorand quot; who came to view the roofers work just basically gave me the and quot;it's soundand quot; speech. I trusted that they would replace this wood but because I wasn't watching the whole install and checked the attic during the process it didn't get done. When I had my own inspector come out, he stated that you can never tell when a repair was done...so it will look like it was done and quot;afterand quot; my whole new roof was installed. Could have a negative inpact on me if I decide to sell my house. I am just disappointed.

They did my original roof. The roof has a 25 year material warranty, that means that the shingles should hold up for 25 years. I found that there was a leak in my roof in 2010. I called the same company, and they said that who ever did the work they should've put down black paper and shingles and they only put down plywood. The man didn't realize that it was the same roof they had already done, and I didn't realize it was the same company. I didn't find out until after they had been left and paid that it was the same company. After I called the manager back and his offer was just to give me a discount on the little guest house behind my house that needs a roof. I feel like not only should I have been charged for the issue that they caused or the cost of my sheetrock. The whole thing is very unsettling. They are very dishonest.

Response from Stay Dry Roofing of Tampa Bay Inc
The member called Stay-Dry Roofing to report a leak over her kitchen which is a low slope roof, attached to the main house. Mr. Shrader, Stay-Dry Roofing’s superintendent went and checked on the roof and advised her that he would not have used this type of application on this rood, due to the amount of water running down from it. However that product was completely acceptable/approved to use. This roof is 16+ years old. The roof on the main house is a steep shingle rood which has a 25 year material warranty and 5 year workmanship warranty. Mr. Shrader advised her that the low slope roof needed to be replaces, in which she agreed to, therefore we proceeded. She called again in regards to her garage roof and Mr. Shrader was able to advise the member that she would need a general contractor for the structural damage to her garage and offered her a discount if Stay-Dry Roofing would do the roof repair. Stay-Dry Roofing treated her with respect, honesty and does not understand the reasoning for this complaint. Although Stay-Dry Roofing does not see any reasoning after 16 years to be still held accountable we certainly want to obtain good standings with all our customers, therefore Stay-Dry Roofing would be willing to perform the extra work on other parts of the home equating to the requested amount of $1,400.00 (in work). Please feel free to contact Mr. Shrader at (813) 610-2646 if you have any questions in regards to this matter. Kind Regards, Uli Wilson

After storm damage to our roof, I called Stay Dry at the suggestion of a neighbor to get an estimate for repairs and new shingles. Manny, who does the estimates for Stay Dry, showed up at the scheduled time, made a thorough inspection, and provided an estimate on the spot. A few days later, my wife and I went to the office to sign the contract and have it faxed to our insurance claims adjuster, and also to ask Uli, the office person, a few questions for clarification. Uli gave us an expected start date. On the scheduled date, Alberto and his crew of four showed up and started working quickly and efficiently. It quickly became apparent that the entire roof plywood decking needed to be replaced. Curtis, the field supervisor, was called, discussed the issue with us and gave a price to do the redecking. I want to point out that Stay Dry did not try to upsell us. We agreed that the decking did need replacing, and we were the ones who asked to have Curtis come to the house. Alberto's crew worked very well, with no drama. Everyone knew their job and did it well. Their fine work ethic was apparent and to show our appreciation, we put chairs in the back yard shade for them to use during their infrequent breaks and during lunch. We also had a cooler with water and Coca Cola for their refreshment. They were courteous, quiet, efficient and accessible. Alberto had such pride in his work that, as the job was finishing up, he went around and wiped down the new fascia boards so that they were bright and clean. My wife and I are very pleased with the job done by Stay Dry, and we feel that the price we paid was very fair considering how much work and material was involved. The price also came exactly as quoted to us in the two estimates (roofing and decking). I did provide the new fascia boards myself so that I could paint them before they were installed, and the crew worked with me easily to coordinate this. Update: A few weeks after the roof was completed, I noticed a hole in the lead sleeve around a plumbing vent. I was pretty sure that it was OK when the job was done, but called Curtis, the field supervisor. He sent out the crew to repair the problem, no questions asked. When the roofers arrived, they replaced the damaged sleeve and said that squirrels like to sharpen their teeth on the lead. I asked how to prevent it from happening again since we have (too much) foliage near the house, so squirrels have easy access. The guys said the best way was to put fine mesh metal screen around the lead sleeves. I happened to have some 1/2 inch mesh hardware cloth handy. When I showed it to them, the crew chief said that it was perfect. He and the crew then proceeded to make up and install the screen guards on all of the vents. Problem solved. When I asked how much I owed for the repair, I was told there was no charge. I am a very satisfied customer.
Description of Work: Provided estimate Pulled permitting Sent a four man crew which: which removed the old roofing removed an old skylight at our request removed an old vent that was no longer of any use replaced all of the plywood decking installed new shingles installed new ridge vent replaced several fascia boards each day, cleaned up the area by hand and with a magnet to pick up any fallen nails
