Small Jobs Electric

When I called they were extremely prompt in returning my phone call. They arrived on time and were very professionally dressed. They sent a card afterwards thanking me for my business, which I thought was professional. The appearance was there, but I'm not sure the quality was. I also thought they were pricey and I would have liked for them to show and explain to me what they did to assure me that the electrical was safe.

They are a fantastic company; confirmed the appointment ahead of time, showed up on time, wore booties before coming in the house, very neat and very professional. Followed the service with a hand written thank you note in which they included a discount coupon for my next job. Fantastic customer service !!!

I got this number from a home improvement company, and was told he is on Angie's list. He came out and was very clean cut and professional looking. He put a new outlet in our garage for a refrigerator. The next night we got hit by lightning and I guess the outlet wasn't grounded right, but he came out and fixed it again for free. He also installed a surge protector. He was so fabulous, and we can't recommend him enough. He gave us the price before he did the job. Again, he was very very good. I've given his business cards out to two people I know.

We were putting in new appliances, which included changing out a hard-wired dishwasher for one that plugged in as well as swapping a one-oven range for a double-oven range. We didn't initially know that the double range would require anything different, but when we pulled the old one out it became obvious that the new one wouldn't plug in the same outlet. We figured the plug just needed to be changed, however when Small Jobs came out they informed us that a whole new line needed to be run through the attic and to the electrical panel. Before hiring this company, I called 2 other electricians; one that had been recommended by a friend and one that we had found on Angie's List in the past and who had done some work for us. These two companies needed 3 week and 2 week lead times, respectively. Since we didn't want to go without a range and dishwasher for 2-3 weeks, I looked on Angie's List again, found a company who had good ratings and comments from another subscriber that said they came out the same day. I didn't really expect that to happen, but when I called, sure enough, they had someone in our area, and the work was done that day. I felt the pricing was a little high, but since I didn't get other estimates, perhaps they were as competitive as the next guy. In any case, they did a good job, were professional and cleaned up after themselves. I would recommend them and would consider using them again.

As you can see I rated this company very high but there was only one "glitch" which falls in the area of professionalism. When the electrician entered the house he was very courteous, I told him what had to be done and he said he would replace the smoke detector and was also going to do an inspection of my home's wiring system. At first, I thought the inspection was free of charge but when I asked the question I was informed that there would be a $49 charge for this service. I told him that we just bought the home and the home was just thoroughly inspected and I did not need a complete home wiring system analysis. It is one thing to ask "would you want this done and the cost will be $$$." It is another to try and sneak it in as part of the other work that I wanted him to do.

The technician Orlando gave me estimates for other projects and offered input that was helpful.

The electricians came on time and were extremely neat and clean when they performed the work. Beautiful workmanship. I would use this contractor again.

They said that they would arrive before 3:00 and didn't, so they had to come the next day. They offered $25.00 off of the work for the inconvenience. The work was fine we just got off on the wrong foot when they didn't arrive on schedule.

I was looking for an electric company and came across them in Angie's List. Checked out their website and left contact info. They called the next morning and set up the appt for the next day. He (Ron) showed up as scheduled and was quick and efficient. He did the job as described and was clean and quick about it. They also have a coupon on their website for $25 off. We just got a nice Thank You card yesterday from them as well thanking us for trying them (with another coupon included). We also got a couple estimates for future work while he was here and will probably be calling them back for more work soon.

They had showed up on time to do the work. They were very professional about the job. They had cleaned up everything when they were done. They had gone back through to make sure everything was working right.

I reported on this 1 month ago giving a "D" overall. I was contacted by the company to see how to rectify the situation. They offered me a discount on my next service call.

They provided me with a discount without me even asking. The office staff, especially Carla, was very courteous and accommodating. They emailed me all info per my request.

I recommended this company to my partner's father. Here is his account to me about how things went: First, the electrician arrived 45 minutes late, though he called ahead to say that he would be 20 minutes late. Though the email from the company representative indicated that I would be charged "a small diagnostic fee of only $49, whether the technician takes half an hour or even two hours to evaluate and determine the solution to your problem", the representative failed to mention that I would be charged $49 for each problem. The electrician charged me $49 for reviewing each fan (2 fans), though the problem was simply loose wires in the switches. In my opinion, the company should be more clear about how they estimate charges, especially for simple matters, or in the alternative, charge an hourly rate for the work. I believe the electrician overcharged me for diagnosing simple problems rather than more complicated problems that would take longer to figure out. I should have been charged $49 altogether for diagnosing these simple matters rather than charging me for each item. In addition, the electrician was rather hasty in making his diagnosis of why one fan was not working; he told me the fan was defective. I asked him to look again at the wire in the switch and then he found that a wire was loose. He was very quick to determine the problem was with the fan rather than thoroughly investigating the problem. Overall, I was very disappointed with the service because of the lack of punctuality, hastiness in diagnosing the problem, and overcharging me for diagnosing simple problems and then also charging me $94 each for installing 3 fans.

Fantastic!!! They showed up on time, called with an estimated time of arrival when they were on their way and went beyond our expectations with service delivery. Also out of the 3 Angie's list companies we contacted they had the best prices.

Great! I called at 11:45am and he showed up by 12:30 and did a great job; $99 quote less $25 coupon = $74. Very pleased!

They were pretty quick. They came within an hour of calling them. They were very good overall. They were friendly and answered any questions I had. I didn't have any complaints.

He did not check his work, not did he clean up after himself, and charged for three hours work, one of which was because he could not figure the wiring pattern. After I paid his bill he left and I checked the light, it still was nor working at all. I called his office, they contacted him and he returned and found a wire not connected after he put the wall switch back. I was not at all satisfied with his performance and apparent unfamiliarity with three way circuits.

They were prompt and did a good job.

Orlando and his helper arrived as scheduled. They took care to cover and protect our island and cook top. They carefully ran wire through the attic and connected the new wiring to an existing switch. They worked quickly and efficiently and we were happy with the work they did. The workmen were very pleasant and worked diligently.

Two techs were dispatched to my home. They were courteous, friendly (even when my 6 and 4 years old got a bit under foot), and very professional. From start to finish, the job took less than 30 minutes for which I was charged the lowest price quoted. I am glad that I took a chance on this company and would hire them again. Small Jobs Electrical Inc., was low on price, but high on the level of service they provided!

The company was recommended to me by a neighbor that had the same work done. I procrastinated long enough that I didn't want to shop around a lot, so I just called Small Jobs Electric. They were out within two days and installed the panel in about two hours. They showed me how to operate it, actually cutting my house power and firing up the generator so I could verify that the areas I had selected for the back-up power were indeed powered appropriately. They were very friendly and knowledgeable. I'd have them back in a heartbeat.

Very impressed. When Nathaniel and his assistant arrived, they immediately went to work on what had to be done. They were so organized it was impressive to watch. We thought we had to install another GFCI in the kitchen but Nathaniel tested the outlet and it wasn't needed. We had another electric company to our house before and it was a nightmare. Small Jobs made this a pleasant experience and we would definitely recommend and use them again. Good job!

Representative arrived on schedule, diagnosed problems, and completed repairs quickly.

Purchased new range and plug on appliance was four prong and receptacle was three prong. When making appointment I informed them of this however the electrician, Tom, arrived without the appropriate part. He had to leave and go get the appropriate part therefore the call took about 1 hr longer than the estimate. I needed my dishwasher reinstalled after a renovation and made a second call to this company. The electrician Nathaniel arrived on time and did the install quickly.

Excellent job. I recently moved here from the the Midwest and have had 20+ contractors and have been disappointed with all of them except Small Jobs and my painter. After describing the work I needed, I was given a quote over the phone, which was honored after the work was completed. They arrived as scheduled, were very courteous and did a very quality job in very little time. This is one contractor that I will use again and again!!! Great job!
