Will never use them again. Charged over $175 for 10 minutes of work and a $5 capacitor which was under warranty after showing up 1.5 hours after they were scheduled. And they do NOT apply the diagnostic charge to the work performed like they claim. Technician was friendly, but beware their promises and deceit.

A/C went out late afternoon. I was on my way home from work, my wife works from home, and she wanted to know who we could call. I told her we had a service contract with Simpson Air. She called them and immediately received a return call from Technician Robert. Her words were that he was very kind, accommodating and reassuring and would be coming out after finishing the job he was on. By the time I arrived home, he was calling us to let us know he was on his way. Less than 3 hours after the A/C went down, he was at our house assessing the situation. Within an hour, he had everything back up and running. He obviously had a long day, and still had service calls to make in Wesley Chapel and then Sun City (very far from each other, and from here). And yet he could not have been nicer, more enthusiastic and more accommodating and upbeat. What a great asset he is to your company! We first had Simpson Air out here to assess the status of our HVAC System about 6 months ago. We were not happy with our previous company, as they simply tried to sell us a new system for $20K, and we felt as if it still had some life left in it. The Simpson tech then was as nice and pleasant and informative as Robert was, and took pictures and showed us how he knew we could still get more years out of our unit. He didn’t give a sales pitch, but offered to us the Service Agreement where they would always be there for us to keep our existing system going until the day came it truly would outlive its useful life. I’ll be darned if they were not true to their word tonight, 6 months later. Robert said the fix was very straightforward, and that we still had plenty of time to go before we needed to replace it. How about that for honesty, great service, and keeping it real? Gary Simpson - you and your wife run a great company, you are upfront and straightforward, and obviously treat your customers as you would wish to be treated if the roles were reversed. Give Robert some high fives and recognition. Two encounters with you guys now, and two great experiences. We so appreciate your prompt and expert service. Would recommend you to anyone, and in fact, already have recommended you to someone down the street we know who needs some A/C attention. We know that sometime in the future, our system will need to be replaced. And when that day comes, we will clearly have it done by Simpson Air. You know that too. But by being honest and fair and straightforward, you know how to secure loyal customers. Now that’s how you run a business. Great service is worth great recognition, and we would be happy to share our story with anyone who ever wanted to know. Having used several different HVAC companies over the years, we know how much better you are than what we have encountered. Not all were bad - Simpson is simply that much better. Simpson is a quality company that is on the ball. The installers came on time. They ran into problems that required much longer install and didn’t stop working until 9 pm. Only disappointment was estimator missed needed details that cost $900 more but they ate $300 of that. Good company that I will stay with.

Simpson air told us we just needed a new defrost board that cost $200. The technician was able to bypass the board so that we had cool air until the part came in. We were very pleased with their honesty and knowledge. Wonderful company, wonderful people!!
Description of Work: Our a/c went out and we were looking for a second opinion on repairs. Our first opinion told us we basically needed a new a/c based on the cost of the repairs.

I was very happy with them. I think that thy are fantastic. They gave us a great price and that included a rebate and a 10 year labor cut warranty cover. It was about $8500 for a top of the line carrier. Their price is very good, they give competitive prices. They are prompt, courteous, on time and give a great price. It took a couple of hours for them to install the system. The workers were great. They cleaned up very well. I don't think they can work on anything, I think they have done well with everything.

They do an excellent job. They are really good. I have been with them for about seven years. I have a deal with them for an annual maintenance where you pay $100 or $125 and you are entitled to one service call.

We chose them based on the reviews we had read and also we had them come out last year to give us a quote. When he came out, he seemed professional so we gave him a call back. He was called Paul. They replaced the Ac unit but they never touched the ducts at all and I was under the impression that based on their quote, they would also check all the duct work and make sure there were no leaks and make sure that it was thoroughly clean. They never touched any of the ducts and now the air flow doesn't even reach some of the rooms. The first day they came out, They came out like at 9:00 in the morning and they worked hard. It was probably a tighter fit because the AC unit didn't quite fit into the place it was supposed to go so they had to do some work arounds on it. They worked till 8:00 pm that day. I couldn't leave my house at all waiting for them to finish. When they finished, they had to take the door off the hall closet because it didn't fit in there. They told us to go get a different door and they would fit it back on but then they didn't come out for around three and a half weeks. They kept cancelling and rescheduling and all this while we had an AC unit like in the hallway with no door. When they finally came, the door that I'd bought could not fit so they just went back to the original door, made some adjustments and put that on. The air flow is still not right. Update: Garry Simpson, the owner of the company, contacted me after hearing about the issues. He seemed genuinely concerned about our customer experience. He said Paul is no longer with the company and he wants to correct our airflow. He came out and looked at the house and determined that the airflow issue was a result of previous remodeling work we had done. He offered to correct it for a reasonable amount of $250. He scheduled the guys to come out within a week to caulk around the door they had removed, seal the ducts they could reach, and try to get air back into our Florida room. The guys came out and worked all day from about 8 to 5 but were unsuccessful in getting airflow to the Florida room due to the space limits in the attic. They offered to come back next weekend to try and finish the work, as well as to caulk around the door. Garry also called to follow up and see how things went. I appreciate the follow up and we are looking forward to having a cool Florida room again soon!

It is clear the installation of this system was installed in a professional manner and working properly. The issue that you are still having problems with is an air flow issue that was created during previous work done by another contractor. We agreed to resolve the air flow issue for an additional cost for which you agreed. Due to the very tight attic this is a difficult task and potentially why the prior contractor did not make it right. The other issue is the caulking around the door that we removed to get the air handle in the closet. We are schedule back for this Saturday to complete this job. Thank you again for your patience. And we look forward to completing these final details and to your Florida room cooling as well!

We called Simpson Air in December '13 to give us an estimate to install a new AC system in our home. The old 4 ton system was noisy, but the biggest problems were 1) our electric bill was about $400/mo during the previous summer, 2) the house was cool, but always felt clammy to us, and 3) we have a room addition that was always about 5 degrees warmer than the rest of the house. We plan to be in the house for many years, so we wanted an efficient unit that would last. Paul came to our house and was very personable and professional. We decided on the Carrier Greenspeed system due to its ability to run very efficiently at a low speed versus the on-or-off systems. Rather than simply quoting us the cost of a 4-ton system, Paul did a thorough load calculation to make sure we were getting the appropriate size - he even measured all the windows in the house. This evaluation calculated that a 3 ton system would be sufficient. Paul explained to us that the old system was too big which led to the house cooling too quickly to effectively reduce the humidity level - this explained the clammy feeling. Paul also recommended that we replace the ductwork to the addition which was originally installed in a way that limited airflow. Travis and Travis installed the system and replaced ductwork in one day without a hitch. The bottom line is that our house is much more comfortable and the clammy feeling is gone - including the addition which is now only a degree or two warmer that the rest of the house. The system is so quiet that you can't tell it is running - from inside or outside. Best of all, our power bill is down about 40% this summer. I highly recommend Simpson Air.

I called in the morning needing a repair and they were out the same afternoon. There are a total of 5 AC units throughout the house and they were able to locate the correct unit in a timely fashion and they diagnosed the issue quickly. The seams on the "plenum" were coming apart and they fixed it on the spot and were in and out of the house in under an hour! I have used Simpson Air before this and they stand by there repairs, with a warranty on their service. LOVE them and I will be a return customer.

I called Simpson Air and had a service call within an hour of the call. Air is up and running on this hot, humid day thanks to the AWESOME professional tech who came out.. this service call happened on the holiday (of course) and I wish I could remember the technician's name (Rich, Rick, Ron?) but he was awesome, friendly and very informative. He even tried to diagnose the problem over the phone in the event I could do something on my end to avoid a costly holiday service call, his diagnosis was right but I still needed him to come out and vacuum out the drain line and treat it as it was full of gunk and algae. He gave me advice to maintain the drain during the year, which is something I now know I can do. He was kind enough to put a drain trap outside to prevent any unwanted creepy crawlers from coming into the house. Great service. Reasonable price for a holiday call. Professional and kind serviceman. Thank you!
Description of Work: Cleaned out my condenensate drain which caused my air conditioner to stop working on the 4th of July!!! Air is working and I feel confident I will not have to call them out again until my unit needs to be serviced for annual maintenance.

We originally contacted Simpson Air in 2011 for an AC unit issue- their in house technicians came out and repaired the unit for a fair price, explained in detail what they had done, and gave both our units a check up. We were very impressed by their professionalism and expertise. Fast forward two years, and the 15 year old unit was ready to go- time to get some estimates. We received six estimates- SImpson Air had a wonderful representative, Paul, who did the estimate. He took the most time explaining the work that needed to be done, and explained the costs and benefits of upgrades. The best thing about Paul is he does not try to sell you anything- and in fact if he feels you are overbuying or adding things on that won't provide a direct benefit, he will steer you another way. Their estimate was not the cheapest- they were in fact right in the middle. But the fact that all of their workers are employees of SImpson Air (not subcontractors) was a tipping point. Having had prior experience with Simpson Air for a smaller service, we felt confident if they took that much care to repair two old units that they had not installed and do such thorough inspections, that they were the right people to install our new unit. They started on time, and a young man named Travis was the lead on the installation with another SImpson Air employee. They were fast, efficient, cleaned up after working, took pictures of their work, and installed new filters as a courtesy. The post job inspection was very thorough. Paul called and touched base throughout the process, and followed up on the back end to make sure a few days after the job was complete that all was meeting our expectations. ON top of that, a few weeks later, we received a tin of cookies and a thank you for selecting Simpson Air. Who takes that kind of time and care to follow up with their customers these days? We were also proud to hire Simpson Air as they go beyond being a business service provider and act as a business leader- giving back to the community and non profits in the area. I hope SImpson Air is around a long time- we need this kind of company in our community.

Overall - the service check up went great. The tech was very knowledgeable and explained everything. He started work indoors first - so that way if he got dirty outside he wouldn't be tracking in all over the place. After finishing the check upstairs, he went outside and did a thorough inspection outside. He was prompt this time and was done in about 45-60 minutes. I was able to pay him before he left (or I could have called in the payment) and he was on his way. My only issue was with the follow-up appointment. I had asked to schedule them to come back out and perform some additional drainage work out the outside of the home. The technician said he would be over first thing in the morning on a specified day. I called to confirm the time the day prior - however - after an hour of the technician not showing up I called the office to find out the story. He was held up at another job and I was told he would be there in about another hour. After another two and a half hours went by - I could no longer wait at the house (I had to get to work - just took the morning off). So I left the home... he ended up showing up about 25 minutes after I left - he left a voice mail on my phone as did the main office. The reason I marked them down is that all the technician or front office needed to do was call me to say "Hey - I am running a bit late... is that OK or do you want to re-schedule?" -- if the company had done this I would have been fine but to keep a customer waiting for three and a half hours with nothing and the customer is the one pulling out information/making calls -- I find that very rude and inconsiderate. I had taken the morning off from work to get this work done with the understanding I would have to stay late at work to catch up on things... but here I was staying late at work and for no reason since the technician was late. They do great work and at a reasonable price but punctuality/customer service missed on the return trip...
Description of Work: I had them perform a general maintenance check on my A/C unit - both inside and out. I had them bring over some replacement filters for the home as well.

Simpson blamed me for the leaking condensation saying I was using the wrong air filters and charged me a service call. They told me the new coil was rusty and needed to be replaced - this would be the third coil in less than 5 years. A call to the region rep for Carrier produced no results - they essentially backed Simpson. I called another service company and they discovered that a necessary baffle had been left out when the last A-coil was installed. That was the cause of the leak. This new company replaced the A-coil and installed the baffle. But of course I had to pay again. The leak caused mold in the duct and ruined a large portion of my garage ceiling - the air handler is mounted in the ceiling. By the way, this company, also a Carrier dealer sells the filters that Simpson said were a problem. Simpson mentioned to me that I had failed to sign up for their filter replacement program. And, I had not gone on their annual maintenance program. I am not satisfied with this installation, the constant need to replace coils, and the response from Simpson Air. Ron Cress 813-781-0180 er
Description of Work: They installed the original A/C system for the builder in 2005. They replaced a faulty a-coil in the air handler in 2009 or 2010 - it had rusted and leaked coolant - I had to pay for the labor several hundred dollars. It began leaking into my garage ceiling. They came out to inspect condensation leak and charged me a service call.

Wow! We were frankly blown away by the expertise and detail orientation of the Simpson Air tech who came to give us an estimate in January when our A/C unit died after keeping it alive for a few more years than our neighbors were able to do. Our rep was incredibly detail oriented, he explained pros and cons of changing out the A/C unit & heater system (we had gas & he advised replacing it with a heat pump); did a load calculation to size our new AC unit measuring the size of the windows (not just the count) that we had double paned glass as well as our 2 story, 2 zoned system. He was very prompt and detailed in his proposal and my husband & I discussed long and hard if we should pay the extra money to work with Simpson due to the professionalism and expertise displayed in our meetings. We ultimately decided that the price difference between Simpson and our next choice was too great--and they were recommending the same unit--so we went with the other A/C company. But we would both highly recommend calling Simpson. They seem to be an outstanding company, and a bit of me regrets not being able to justify giving them our business.

Chris came twice to give me a bid for the new system, measuring and checking everything. When I asked about replacing other things that the other contractors said I needed, he gave me reasons why I didn't. On the day of the install, two men appeared at around 7:30 to begin. All went well. Others appeared around 4 to start up the system, which also went as planned. All is well thus far. Simpson is courteous, professional and punctual.

Description of Work: I would like to thank Simpson Air and their wonderful employee Mike. We called this company following a visit from a company we had contracted to do our annual maintenance. A technician came out a performed routine maintenance replacing a few parts for a price of $800, ;two days later our air conditioner did not work. When we called, the repairman came out and told us we needed a new air conditioner. He gave us a quote of $10,000 plus. We decided to get two additional opinions. ;Simpson Air was the first company to come out. Their repair technician Mike noticed that they had wired the motor wrong, which would have caused it to burn out. He fixed that problem and gave the system a thorough going over making a few additonal changes and the unit has been running great eversince. Mike came out ofr a second visit and reapired a problem with the breaker and we are back in business. What I really like about this comapny is that they take the time to teach you about what they are doing, options that you have for your repair and how to budget for when your air conditioner finally takes its last breath. I will be making this the only company i use for maintenance and repair.;I would not hesitate to recommend them to others.
