They were extremely friendly and helpful as I was a bit picky about the size stones that I wanted and had to pick through the pile. And, they were careful with the loading of the stones on the trailer I rented from Home Depot to pick up the stones myself. I'll definitely go there for any of my stone, rock or gravel needs in the future. And, great price for the quantity and size stones I got.
Description of Work: I picked up a yard of rip rap stones to place around the perimeter of my corner lot to keep cars from parking and driving on my lawn.

It did not go well, upon ordering the rock. The young lady behind the counter asked when I wanted my rock delivered. I said the morning time either 4/23 or 4/24 if you have it available. She responded well what day do you want it and what window. To me, this means that both days are available for morning time frames. So I said Thursday 4/23, what windows do you have available. She looked at me like I was speaking Chinese and asked what time do you want. I told her 9a.m, she didn't indicate that it would be an issue at all. She asked about windows again, in this instance I will say it is highly inconvenient for me to tell you what your delivery schedule looks like. If I want my stones in the morning than I'd say anything in the PM would be out of the question, I said, "I don't know between 9 and 12?" She implied she needed a bigger window, in which I stated "I can't do it later than 2pm as my children have class at 2:30pm, but I want it in the morning" At no point did this young woman say at all, we have a full schedule, if you'd be willing to switch days or do an earlier delivery than I can accommodate a morning delivery which would have been the professional thing to do. She said nothing but okay I got you scheduled. The driver will give you a call when they are on their way Day of the Delivery: So here we go, it's 1130am and no call from anyone affiliated with Seffner Rock and Gravel. I call them and speak with a different young lady behind the desk (or so she claims) asking when I should expect my delivery to arrive, I get told all the trucks are out and won't be back for a couple hours and at that point they have to get my order, load up and head my way, so it would be closer to 2-3 hours before they arrived. At this point I am frustrated, I asked the young lady what was the point of scheduling for a window or asking for morning hours if they weren't going to even attempt to follow the schedule. She says there isn't anything she can do but the driver will call me when they are on there way. At this point I was irritated enough to say cancel the order, but I didn't want to deal with a week plus wait to get my money back or find another company and schedule service with them. The young lady wasn't rude or make excuse so it seemed like less of an inconvenience to continue forward as planned. I get a call from the young lady at 1230, the owner is going to personally handle my order to expedite it, it'll be here between 2 and 2:30 pm. This obviously doesn't fix the scheduling issue, but I resign to provide my feedback directly to the owner when he gets here. I also called my friend, who was with me the day I scheduled to attest to the scheduling manner of the young woman at the desk. She was present for delivery. So the truck finally arrives, the owner dumps the full load of rock halfway up my driveway a mere 3 ft in front of my vehicle parked in the driveway (A good portion of rocks shot under the car with a few that bounced off of it) . His truck wasn't that big and dropping the rock took 5 minutes, with no traffic on the road the entire length of his stay. I don't see why he would have dropped the rock further down the driveway where it would have been less of a risk to physical property. When he was finished dropping the rock I went over to provide my feedback to the issues with the scheduling, at this point my two problems were the way scheduling was handled and his choice in drop off locations. Simply stated not exact words (I will note, there was no inappropriate language used on either end) Me: When a customer is scheduled for a morning delivery than provide a morning delivery or tell them it's not possible while scheduling. His Response: My daughter scheduled it and she would have given you that time if it was available. Me: In that case, I should have been told my preferred time frame was not available and offered a different time frame or a different date. His response: Well it's been raining and traffic's bad and you picked your date Me: I don't know what your business's schedule looks like, I would assume that your daughter would if she is scheduling, how was I to know you have a scheduling conflict. Now this conversation continued before I told him to leave in no uncertain terms, it became quite apparent that this man can not take negative feedback, not because it's unwarranted but because he simply doesn't want to hear it. He would rather make excuses for less then adequate customer service and defend his daughter over ensure customer happiness. We didn't even get to the part where we provided feedback about his actual drop off, or the location on the driveway he picked to make it. Good luck for us, the car is our next project or it would have been a bigger issue. In a customer service industry, even if he felt I was being unreasonable, he could have simply stated he will look into the matter and handle it accordingly. That would have been professional, not the s*** of excuses and statements about rocks not being pizza. If you feel you must deal with these folks, I would advice making a smaller order and picking it up yourself, there is no price advantage to ordering in bulk and delivery isn't worth the $65. As far as quality goes, I'll evaluate that on rock size and minor debris found in dumped pile. They sell the rock by 3 sizes, 1/4", 3/4", 1/1/2" I am so happy I went with 3/4" as the rock was not the same as what they had on site when I went to look and place my order. I'd say 40% of what I got was about 1/4-1/2 inch. 40% was between 1/2 to 1" and the final 10% was ranging from 1" and up, we had a nice 6" black rock. I'd have given it a better rating but the slips of what I assume is weed paper and a few twigs we had to pull out made it drop to just fair. The powdery dust is being washed daily, it's almost gone and tomorrow marks a week, keep in mind that makes this rock more tan than white but expected that when I saw the rocks initially.
Description of Work: I purchased 3 yards of 3/4" white river rock as well as delivery.

They delivered the rock exactly on time and even called ahead to confirm that they were on the way. They dropped the stone from the truck onto the driveway without getting any in the grass and shrubbery. The rock was just as we had ordered and contained virtually no sand or waste. The driver was fast and efficient in processing the transaction. Most other companies would not consider delivering anything under 3 yards of material!
Description of Work: We had Seffner Rock deliver 1.5 yards of beach stone and weed barrier for our pond surround (we were on a tight budget, so we were installing it ourselves).
