We also specialize in smaller projects including bath and kitchen remodels, flooring, painting and any other small project a customer may need. We have crews available for all project sizes. Dear Mr. and Mrs. [Member Name Removed], As a customer, we rate you as a "C" We are sorry you feel that we were not to your satisfactory. As we met in the beginning the [Member Name Removed] informed us that their past builder that built their home was terrible and they never had anyone else in their home for nearly 30 yrs. This was a concern to me. Your review is almost two years after we did the work. As I read over your review. I notice that you are saying that we used inferior products. I can only assume you mean the 1 x 6 tongue and groove material we used at your rear porch ceiling. When you called for us to come out and look at the ceiling issue, I sent my son Scott, who informed you that the ceiling had gotten wet from your roof leaking. You did not believe him even though he was able to wipe the mildew off the ceiling and your roofer was currently replacing the roof above. Then you ask me to send one of my men to come out and fix the issue without using our service. The 1x6 wood was not damaged from anything but water above. Sealing and repainting would resolve the issue as long as your roofer repaired the roof correctly. Trying to remove a 1x6 board from the middle of the ceiling would be near impossible and cause more damage. You obviously did not believe us. My manager and I made many trips to your home during the work and kept great communication at all times. We actually helped you sell your car while we were doing the work for you. My painter went out of his way and did some extra painting in your garage and he accidentally painted over your children's height marks because he thought the wall was dirty like the rest of the walls in the garage. We tried to clean the paint off but you were so upset with us even though my man was trying to do a nice gesture. I do remember a complaint that my wood floor men had dirtied the newly painted walls. Our floor men are large men and they did touch your walls as they got up from the floor and we went behind them and painted and touched up those areas. This is part of a punch list for home remodeling. After 30 years in this business and thousands of customers, I can count on one hand of customers that were not satisfied with our work. Our company has a reputation of doing all that is possible to keep our customer happy but sometimes that is just not possible.

I did not actually hire this company because the estimate was high. But, they arrived on time, provided an estimate quickly & were professional. I would consider having them come out again for another project.

It has gone fine so far. I am satisfied with the work that has been done. They are good workers- pleasant and respectful of my property. They have a very nice staff working there.

Description of Work: Wilmer replaced 1993 blue tiles around the fireplace. Lots of challenges as glued to drywall, fireplace a little tilted, wood transition around floor tiles also glued so had to be replaced. Removed 8x8 tiles and cut polished porcelain tiles for the space. Very professional, knowledgeable, kept area clean, communicated well before, during and after installation. I provided tiles, thinset and grout. I also paid for extra thinset, liquid nails, 2X4, drywall and new transitions. He was so careful but wood transitions and glue did not afford removing without ruining them. I did not mind paying for these extras. They were well worth having the job done right. Although this job took a lot longer than planned, Wilmer remained dedicated to exceptional customer satisfaction. If you want the best check with Scott Hines GC and you may be lucky to get Wilmer for the work.

You asked me if it was because the job was too small and informed me that you had also been stood up by another contractor.I told you no that had nothing to do with it. I just forgot to write it on our calendar. It was totally my mistake, but there is nothing I can do but apologize. Their estimate was higher than our budget. Their estimate was in the mid $ 30,000. They were timely in getting the estimate out to us.

They were exellent, neat, fair and on time. The work was extensive; every romm in our house had work done except one. Florrs were jackhammered up and re-pour, three bathrooms were re-done. Our Kitchen had no cabinet put in. On the outside - new proch, stucco, reinforce walls, paint, skylights, drive way repairs, etc. All good. I highly recommend Scott Huines.
Description of Work: We had a sinkhole and we practically had our home rebuilt.

They were very pleasant and clean. They did a great job. The only problem is that they had asked for half down before the job was to start. I told them I would not do that but I did put $200 down on the job. He did not have a receipt so i made him write on the agreement that I gave him that money. When they were completed he did not have a receipt again. So I made sign another paper saying that it was paid.

I feel guilty that I didn't write about the wonderful work they did on Angie's List sooner as they really deserved the positive advertising. Hines Construction was patient with us as clients as we tried to figure out what we wanted. They were clean, quick, dependable, and organized. We had to do very little and that was terrific. They even came back later and fixed our mailbox which had been vandalized without us even asking them to help out. I would highly recommend them to anyone and do plan to use them again with future construction needs.
Description of Work: Scott Hines Construction turned our old Temple Terrace brick and cinder block home into a stucco with stacked stone facade. They built a matching garden wall, mailbox, and redesigned the pillar on the front porch. They also redid the fireplace in the living room with the stacked stone.

The contractor had no prob when my wife wished to change the plans, sometimes changing an item that already had been installed. couldnt have asked for better experience.

all the do's were done in order. i wanting to remodel my home in stages so i could live there instead of having to move out. to be honest there were not any don'ts that i can think of. he was the perfect builder for me. most homeowners went they are finish with there remodel they are not talking to there builder. but for me we became friends as to say i could still talk to him after all the work was completed.
Description of Work: he remodeled my entire home. like raising the roof height from 8 ft. to 10 ft. and by adding another 3,000 sq. ft. to my home.

Excellent! Every deadline and every price was met or beat according to all contract specifications.
Description of Work: Scott Hines, GC did a whole house 2500 sf 4bed 3 bath renovation/remodel on our 1976 built house to not only update all areas but reconfigure the kitchen/eat in dining area, master bath/closets/office area. No surface went untouched-flooring, walls, ceiling, cabinetry, plumbing, electrical, framing, drywall, painting, etc. were replaced, remodeled, updated. Scott and his staff as well as his sub-contractors are craftsmen, professional, punctual, competitive, and fairly priced. There were no surprises or additional costs for any of the work, uncommon in the GC industry. And that goes for anticipated issues as well as unanticipated construction issues. He did a full re-model in the timeframe he said it would be completed, also uncommon in the GC industry. Aftercare was fantastic, all work was guaranteed and fixed in a timely manner whether it was one day or one year later. We were thrilled with the re-model when we moved back into the house and are still thrilled with the work done by Scott Hines, GC over 3 years later. We have and continue to highly recommend Scott Hines, GC for all construction jobs, big or small. We will use Scott Hines GC if/when we have future home jobs.

Quick delivery of estimate. Job was scheduled within days and work moved promptly and swiftly. They delivered on time, like they said they would.
Description of Work: Beautiful master suite addition with bathroom. They also provided handyman services throughout the home. Staff was prompt and courteous, and work was superior. They also had a grand kitchen remodel including granite and custom cabinets. The pricing for the kitchen was excellent. My house looks so great, it deserves to be in a magazine! Great pricing, and overall good guys. I highly recommend them.
