I met Hennie and provided my specs of what I wanted. I went with him because he seemed honest, trustworthy and very professional. For a year and half he did all the work, He took care of everything. He and his crew are excellent. Every time something was completed he sent us pictures. We were out of state so we saw a lot of the work via pictures and visits.. There is no question that he is trustworthy and professional. We had some unexpected issues and some of the contractor that he referred us to have been great. They did the work and coordinated everything with Hennie. His work is of superior quality. My kitchen is awesome. and my bathroom is great. The whole house looks completely new. Our bedroom is bigger, the closets are great. I can't say enough about Hennie and his 2 sons. If we found a any small corrections required he was extremely responsive. I love my house and he surpassed my expectations. Yeah! you should hire him to do the work in your house.

Hennie and his team did a super job throughout the entire process. He was very professional in meeting with me promptly and supply a very thorough design/build bid, including helpful recommendations. His team established good relations with the condo maintenance supervisor, which was important, and the job was started and completed right on time. They did a beautiful job and we are delighted with the work. Would highly recommend them!

Scheduling was fine and there no problems. Hennie and his son both came for the consultation. They were very professional. They delivered the follow up within a reasonable time frame. They provided us with a detailed estimate.

Everyone was great and very professional. I never had any concerns with Ed or any of their employees working in my home while I was at work. Always cleaned up before they left at the end of the day.

The wall had deteriorated over the decades and needed repair. We chose to replace the bathtub with a complete remodel of that portion of the bathroom. The work was completed and looked beautiful. We were pleased with the work. The tradesmen were professional and were welcomed in the house while the work was underway.

We've had endless improvements done to our 1923 Bungalow over the past 6 years. After years of sub par work and some disappointing experiences, we turned to Angie's List. This was too big of a project to not have the "right" people. We also have two toddlers and were nervous about the mess, the noise, and the disruption that would occur during the renovation period. After our initial meeting with Hennie we were 150% confident that he was the right person for the job. Hennie was prompt for every single appointment and his team was timely throughout the project. He had proposals, sketches, prices and timelines emailed to us exactly when he said he would. Everything exceeded our expectations. No matter what "surprises" were found in our 100-year old home, they took care of them with the upmost quality and confidence. We had rotten sub floors, water-damaged walls, old broken pipes....and they transformed our Master Bathroom into a spa-like retreat. They maximized space in our small rooms. They recessed gorgeous cabinetry, utilized niches and nooks, and created a classy Guest Bathroom. Our Kitchen is breathtaking. They turned the confined space into an "open floor plan". We had a tight budget for this project and as a conservative person, I was so worried about the additional costs, but Schoeman Enterprises truly allocated for every possible outcome. They did everything they said they would, and more. The guys were BEYOND patient with me, WONDERFUL to my kids and performed THE MOST QUALITY, STRONG AND BEAUTIFUL WORK. I look forward to future projects with them and I'm so grateful we have finally found a reliable, honest, courteous, hardworking and exceptional company for life. I loved working with Hennie and his family. They were professional and took care of everything they said they would. I was very comfortable having them in my home with my children. Hennie Jr loves to sing while he works which was amusing for everyone. I would use this contractor again in a heartbeat. This is the most positive experience I've ever had getting work done to my home, and we've had a lot of work done.

All in all, happy with the service.

Hennie was very prompt, professional, and courteous with all of the meetings, measurements, and details of the estimate. After receiving the first estimate, the requirements were tweaked for Estimate #2 to match another providers estimate. In the end, the other provider was selected based primarily on the bottom line cost. Schoeman Enterprises remains on my A+ list of contractors and hopefully we will work together on a future project. Highly recommended.

I had a very bad experience with the guest bath contractor last spring, and that's why I turned to Angie's List to find my contractor for this project. I was not disappointed. Hennie, his sons, and their subcontractors were a pleasure. They were professional, polite, and always prompt. I would not hesitate to have them do more work in my home. The work quality is excellent and my sons and I enjoy our new bathrooms immensely. The entire experience was stress free. I highly recommend Schoeman Enterprises.

Why are you still reading this? Hire these guys! Honest as the day is long and will ensure that you are pleased. Almir handled our job and did some of the best work I've ever seen. He kept pointing things out and asking questions as he went and offering his opinion on the best way to do something so as to not cause problems down the road. He would also take extra time to put more quality into his work, such as cutting the tiles to make the grout lines more aesthetically pleasing and matching the dimensions of the wall. The cost is a little bit more, and you have to pay $150 up front for an initial estimate, but you get what you pay for. After our 'unique' situation below and how well it was handled, I don't think paying him any less than what he charged us would have been fair. He will not price your job too low just to get your business and then nickel & dime you with overruns. Remodeling our master bathroom started out simple enough -- we just wanted to put a new shower in (we had drain pan issues), and replace the vanity. When they tore down the shower wall, old termite damage was found -- the wall between the master bathroom and the garage had studs like tissue paper. The entire wall would have to be replaced.....so we decided while we're at it, let's extend the bathroom 2 feet out into the garage to give us more space! Hennie & Co were able to handle the unexpected extra workload with grace. A lot of extra work was indeed involved... relocating drains, water lines, and toilet, building a closet, and widening a doorway, just to name a few. While you can count on Hennie & Co to do a fantastic job, keep your eye on the subcontractors. There were 4, and we were only pleased with 1 of them. Unfortunately there are not many people that can match the Schoeman's level of quality and you may have to have the subcontractors come back several times to 'get it right'. Perhaps the worst of it was when we hired the plumber for a separate job, and we regret that we did. Maybe Hennie should start using Angie's List for his subcontractors. :) I can't wait to hire the Schoemans again!

Schoeman Enterprises was a pleasure to do business with. They were punctual, professional, organized, and had great attention to detail. Their craftsmanship was excellent, and we are thrilled with our new master bathroom!

They were really good. They were on time, every time. He was a pleasure to work with. It looks really nice.

Excellent from start to finish (and even after). Was very patient with our need to think things through and make some decisions on the fly. Made excellent suggestions and may have saved us from some not so good decisions. What is amazing is his follow-up. We called about a possible problem a month after he was done and he had someone right out to look it over and fix things. He would not accept our final payment until we were completely satisfied. To be honest, you could save 5%, but why would you when you can be assure that the quality will be top notch and you will be treated well. If I need more work done, I will not hesitate to call them and will not be searching Angie's list again.

I got three estimates and chose Schoeman Enterprises. I chose them as I wanted to purchase cabinets on my own and wanted advice on the design elements which I thought Hennie had a better feel for and indeed he did. Date for renovation was set about 4 months in advance and Hennie was great about reminding me of pre-reno choices to keep the project on time. Also referred me to quality suppliers who were themselves very helpful in making design choices. Had excellent staff that were a delight to work with throughout the project. The finished project is better than I had imagined and we are very happy with the result. Staff helped quite a bit making day to day decisions and there are a lot of those. I knew going into it i was willing to pay for a quality project but the initial estimate from this company was actually the same as another estimate I got. Ended up asking them to do some other unfinished items around the house at the same time and was very pleased with all their work. The entire staff was very conscious of insuring everything was just the way we wanted it. A great company to do business with!

We had Hennie as a general contractor managing a remodel of our kitchen, one bathroom and adding a new room in our house. We received numerous bids and although Hennie was not the cheapest, we went with him because I felt I could trust him. Overall, I would say that we are very happy with the work that was done. We are planning to do some further remodeling and will definitely get a bid from Hennie. Everyone has good and bad experiences when having their home remodeled. The critiques I would have would be with 2 of Hennie's subcontractors. I did not feel that some of the work was done to the best of their ability. I also would have liked more oversight from Hennie as the general contractor but I do understand that when you are busy, it is hard to be in many places at once. I will say that when an issue/problem was brought up Hennie was very responsive on fixing it. He never questioned things, he would fix them to our satisfaction and did not charge us any extra charges as some contractors are known to do. With all of this said, I would use Hennie again as he is a very honest man and I have my full trust in him. I would ask that he not use a couple of the subcontractors he used on the last job and would ask for more oversight on the job.

We loved these guys! They were extremely professional, courteous, responsive and meticulous. We felt at ease leaving them in our home to work while we were out. They were also mindful of the fact that we have a 2 and 4 year old running around and would work around nap and waking times to ensure that we were not inconvenienced any more than necessary. We would definitely use them again!!

Having done extensive remodeling in my condo I know that finding a competent, responsible contractor is one of the most difficult tasks to do. Angie's list is where I started my search. I found Hennie on the site along with a few other and I started the process of sending out my requirements and waiting for responses to give me an estimate. Some turned me down, some never responded and a few others including Hennie, got back to me. At first I was reluctant to pay the $150 estimate fee. But in retrospect it was the best money I spent. We are absent owners, and our renter was in need of a walk in shower instead of our garden tub, because of his aging knees. Hennie was immediate, responsive and did everything he said he would do. He was also right in line on the estimate as other contractors. After hiring him, he was a pleasure to work with. I made a design error in the tile selection and even with the delay caused by my error, he kept the project on time and on budget. We look forward to enjoying our shower someday....but for now we have a very happy renter and a new, beautiful shower.

Working with Hennie and the team is wonderful. This is the second remodeling project we have had them do and I would hire them again in a heartbeat. This time, they completely remodeled a master bath - shower fixtures, wall and floor tile, cabinetry, plumbing/sink & commode, countertops and painting - and also completed smaller changes to a guest bath. Almir completed most of the labor himself and did an exacting and perfect job! The tile work covers both the floor and two walls and the installation was beautifully done - everything lined up properly, grout even, and lines straight. The attention to detail is part of what makes the finished job so terrific. Having worked with them before, I had a lot of trust in their suggestions and know that they only promise what they can deliver well. I also appreciated their great problem-solving on unexpected things you find when you open up walls. Rob of Precision Granite did the granite and did a beautiful and pains-taking job in the master bath. All the comments about the finished work have been exceptionally positive and I am very satisfied with the work. As has been said in other reviews, the price is always what you expect as Hennie takes pride in ensuring that he is precise in his estimates. Great folks and a great job!

The whole project went extremely well. My Schoeman is a real professional who knows his work. The plan and the product were both very well executed. The workmanship was very professional.

We met with Hennie Schoeman who not only listened to our ideas, but who also had some great ideas of his own which we adopted. Hennie's two sons let the work crew. They are two wonderful young men who are extremely polite and respectful. They cleaned up after each days work so we could continue living in the house. They were always timely. The work was done in a professional manner. We had two issues with Delta faucets that were discovered to be defective. Hennie had a representative from Delta come to inspect and had the faucets replaced. They company is one hundred percent reliable and they stand behind their work. The bathroom and fireplace they rebuild are outstanding. Upon completion of our work, our daughter hired them to do a complete renovation of her master bathroom. I would use them again and have done so and would highly recommend them to others.

Hennie & company showed up as promised at the exact promised date and time. Demolition of the old kitchen (walls, cabinets, old tiles, carpeting, etc.) was completed very quickly. Care was taken to place plastic dropcloths to lessen the dust from the demolition. Clean-up was very good as it was at the end of each day during the reconstruction. Hennie recommended the tile and granite companies, which were very easy to work with as well as being very helpful with our selections. Before the start of the entire process, we selected the style and color of the cabinets with the suggested layouts regarding the most functional placing of drawers and cabinets as well as a perfect island layout. The final results are beautiful and rich in color. Hennie Jr. did a fantastic job managing the day-to-day details and kept constant contact with us throughout the project. He also installed all of the tiles and the backsplash tiles. The results are amazing, and we are extremely happy with the new look! The additional attention to detail was great, such as suggesting we use leftover marble for new window sills, which looks so great, and they trimmed the vertical blinds to fit with the new sills. All the appliances were installed without any issues. Hennie also helped us order additional floor tile, with delivery, so they can install it later this year to match our new kitchen floor tile. Couldn't have asked for a better experience from beginning to end as they were extremely professional, trustworthy and skilled.
