Having found myself now confined to a wheelchair, I needed a contractor to make my home more accessible. In years past, I would have undertaken most of the tasks myself, as rehabbing houses has been a hobby for years. I interviewed ten contractors before settling on Schoeman. After interviewing him I felt that he was the one to make my vision a reality. I wanted to be a partner in the project, being able to choose my own material suppliers and some subs and Hennie was amenable to my wishes. Throughout the project, Hennie, his sons, Abel and Hennie Jr. and their worker, Almir became friends, almost as family as the project progressed. You must realize that when hiring Schoeman, you are hiring true artisans. They are not the cheapest or the fastest, but if you want the best, go with Schoeman

Hennie is an absolute professional. During the fact finding process, he was one of the very few who took the time to hear what we wanted and then made suggestions. I attempted to contact over six different contractors and Hennie was the only one that can through. He was not pushy and was very detailed in what he could do for us. The estimate process was very smooth and exact. Hennie always wanted to make sure that he was providing the service that we wanted. He provided detailed drawings/specifications on the project and was more than willing to work with us and modify the project to ensure we got what we wanted. Our home was built in 2001 and we decided to remove the original cabinets (appx 34" in height) and put in new 52" cabinets to take advantage of our tall ceilings. In addition we had a stainless steel vent hood (9' tall) installed as well. Hennie worked and found a cabinet maker that could match the other wood work in the kitchen seemlessly. His subcontractors were always on time, friendly and helpful and cleaned as they went. They all worked around our schedule.

This was a great experience for us. I've used Angie's List in the past in looking for a roofer and a quality A/C company and haven't been disappointed. I merely read the reviews for Schoeman Enterprises, made a decision based on those reviews and their finished project pictures, then I called Hennie for an appointment. Everything went very well. Hennie and his sons did a great job. Always showing up for the job on time, very careful in their concern and attention to detail and cleaning up after themselves when the day's job was done. They were a pleasure to get to know and we wouldn't hesitate in using Schoeman Enterprises again. His subcontractors for the plumbing and electric were just as confident and reliable. Schoeman Enterprises is an extremely honest and reputable family business with a sense for good craftsmanship!

Thank God for Angie s list and Thank God for Schoeman Enterprises! My husband and I were really excited to purchase our first home but scared to have it remolded although it needed it! We heard so many horror stories about remolding jobs gone horribly bad; however meeting Hennie took our fears away! My father is a Workers Comp Investigator for Florida so he did a background check on all of the contractors that we talked to and Schoeman Enterprises came back spotless. We meet with 4 contractors; three from Angie s list and one was from a friend of a friend and Schoeman Enterprises blew them all away! He showed up on time, was well groomed and went through our house thoroughly and listened to our wants and concerns. He gave us a proper estimate, broke everything down showing us exactly where our money would go. It was not a piece of paper with the price of the remolding like some of the contractors did. Hennie Schoeman's crew was wonderful! They were really careful and neat. They did a marvelous job really detailed and cleaned up after them selves every evening. We were so happy with their work that we bought them lunch one afternoon.

They were very, very good. The final price stayed in line with the estimate they provided to me. They showed up on time to do the work for me and finished in the time frame they specified. They were very thorough in their cleanup when finished. I would use them again and would also recommend them.

They were a great contractor and did a wonderful job. They were a joy to work with, which is hard to find with contractors these days. They were able to complete the work in the time frame they specified and stayed in line with the original estimate. They stayed in touch to make sure we were happy with everything. We would use them again for future work.

What professionals!!! Hennie called me every day to advise what they were going to do that day; they finished (as promised) in 4 days. Hennie was a joy to work with; you don't find many businesses that give you that kind of service. He came out and observed the situation and made suggestions; he even sent me a picture (e-mail) of a similar shower and the finished product. He suggested colors and tile size and let me choose. He monitored the progress as his employee Almir did the work. Almir was a great guy to work with; he did a thorough, professional job on my shower. He cleaned up every day and put his tools aside so I was able to sleep in my bedroom (it was the master bath). If he had to leave to get supplies he always advised me. He did a great job overall and left my shower clean and ready to use. Always polite and professional. How refreshing to work with these professionals. I would not hesitate to do business with them again.

Schoeman construction did a great job. They were friendly, neat and courteous. Their workmanship and expertise in making suggestions was top notch.

Work was very professional. Started on day specified, crew on time and prepared. Issues taken care of immediately. Plans and material is true to actual cost. Hennie kept me informed on progress and/or delays. Crew tidy and quiet. Project finished on time. Very pleased w/ results.

Skilled professional craftsmen who were accommodating and communicated with s daily. In addition, they were punctual and trustworthy. An excellent experience.

Hennie is so easy to work with and totally professional and honest. We couldn't be happier. His work is so beautiful and he has a great work ethic. He does what he says he will do and always on time. He is such a nice person and so trustworthy. You don't hesitate to leave him alone in your home. We highly recommend.

The work ethic, punctuality and quality of the work was impeccable. I have used them several times on other projects and am always amazed at the experience.

He dropped the ball on detail work and the end of the project.

One of Mr. Schoeman's assistants was assigned to do every step of our bathroom. He was courteous and punctual. He was trustworthy enough to leave unattended. He cleaned his workspace every day so that we did not have to move out of our bedroom. The project was completed on time and the work done was of excellent quality. We had a leak on the first day and they responded immediately to an SOS call at midnight and came to repair the leak! I would definitely use them again. I only gave them a "B" because they came in on the high side of price, but it seems that the faith that the job will be done well is worth it.

Mr. Schoeman was extremely pleasant, punctual, and professional. Although we had to give a $150 retainer for the quote, after he left I had the utmost confidence in his ability to perform our remodel, and he even offered innovative solutions to our small bathroom issues. He seemed to have more of a design perspective than other estimates we received. Unfortunately, his quote was higher than our budget, but we have recontacted him and he is going to reconsider some features to better fit with our budget.

THIS WAS PRIOR TO MY BECOMING A MEMBER OF ANGIE'S LIST. I ACQUIRED ESTIMATES FROM THREE COMPANIES WHO'S PRICES RANGED FROM $4500 - $8000. I ASKED FOR REFERENCES AND HENNIE SCHOEMAN, THE OWNER QUICKLY GAVE ME 6 CONTACTS. HIS REFERENCES ABSOLUTELY RAVED ABOUT HE AND HIS SON, ABEL'S QUALITY WORK, PROMPT, CLEAN AND COURTEOUS SERVICE. HENNIE EXPLAINED THAT THEY ARE A SMALL FAMILY-OWNED BUSINESS AND THAT THEY ONLY ACCEPT TWO JOBS AT A TIME. IT WAS GOING TO BE SIX WEEKS BEFORE THEY COULD START, BUT MY IMPRESSION WAS THAT IT WOULD BE WORTH THE WAIT AND IT DEFINITELY WAS. I WAS TOLD IT WOULD TAKE 7-10 WORKING DAYS TO COMPLETION AND IT WAS COMPLETED ON DAY 10. WE ABSOLUTELY LOVE THE FINISHED PRODUCT! THE TILE WORK AND THE GLASS BLOCK WALL IS ABSOLUTELY STELLAR! OUR SONS ARE JOURNEYMAN ELECTRICIANS AND THEY ALSO COMMENTED ON THE HIGH QUALITY OF WORKMANSHIP. ABEL IS A FINE YOUNG MAN AND WE FELT VERY COMFORTABLE LEAVING HIM TO HIS WORK WHILE WE WERE AWAY. NOTE: THEY ONLY DO KITCHENS AND BATHROOMS.
