Was a good experience overall. Arrived on time and performed work promptly. Was happy it was only a small problem and didnt have to replace the whole unit. Advised me that I might have a small leak but did say it would be more costly to try and find such a small leak. I would definitely hire this company again.

Our 8-10 year old 5 ton heat pump was not heating at all the first time it was cool enough outside to switch from cooling to heating...we were concerned that it could be a major problem. I called REM late in the day (on a Friday) and Dennis came out right away. Dennis examined the outside and inside parts of the system and found the problem (a detached wire.) He said someone had unhooked a wire and had accidentally or purposely failed to reattach it. He corrected the problem and also performed preventative maintenance on our 5 ton unit, all for the cost of the service call. We were delighted with his professionalism and his knowledge. Our previous a/c company had installed this unit and performed annual preventative maintenance ever spring since then. Even though we had been loyal customers for years, in the last couple years we started feeling uneasy about their trustworthiness. I don't know if their technician left the wire detached on purpose or not, but I'm so glad that we checked Angie's list and didn't call them this time. We will be calling REM from now on.

I called REM because the heat did not seem to be working very well when I tried it on the first chilly morning this season. I chose REM because of the company's Angie's List rating. Scheduling the app't by phone went quickly and easily, and the office did follow up the next day to tell me that Travis was on his way. Travis arrived on time and was very professional and helpful. He examined the system carefully; previous maintenance checks I've had from other companies were not so thorough. He explained the problem to me and also some problems that relate just to the air conditioning part of the unit and made it clear which needed to be fixed to use the heat and which could wait until I need to use the A/C. He did not try to sell me a maintenance plan, but when I asked about it, he gave me information about his company's plan and explained how the price would be different for this service/repair call under the plan and not under the plan. Without being pressured, I chose to sign up for the plan. The price I indicate in this report reflects discounts for being in the plan. It reflects both the maintenance and the replacement of the heating part. I chose to wait to fix the A/C in the spring. Before he left, Travis made sure that the heat was working properly, and he left the unit functioning and looking better than it has for years.

From the moment Joe Mincher walked through the door, everything was professional: His logo'd work van, uniform and presentation. He spent a lot of time here and reassured me that they handled system replacements on older homes like ours routinely. Every other company that had been here complained about what a difficult and unpleasant job this would be and said it would take three days to accomplish. After receiving four bids, we chose REM even though they were the highest bidder. Joe and his crew of seven arrived right on time and by 4:30 that afternoon, we had cool air! Each of the crew members were pleasant, hardworking and didn't bicker among themselves. I don't anticipate repairs for a long time but we will use REM for maintenance and the eventual repair. This is a great company to deal with and I will recommend them to everyone!

Every time they have come out, they have been dead on time, extremely professional, and very thorough. The advice we got seemed unbiased and when our system needed repair, we were told, first, what it would cost (if anything). After the work was completed, the cost was exactly what they quoted--every time. On there most recent trip out, our blower had been making terrible noise. They examined it and quoted about $500 for a new blower. As our system is 10 years old, we passed on the repairs--at least temporarily--and asked them to send someone out to bid on a new AC unit with installation, which they did. Of the 3 bids we got on a new system, there's was the highest--by about $600. In the mean time, one of our neighbors had recommended another Angie's List contractor (Lloyd's) because he had replaced their blower for only about $100. when we contacted that contractor, he checked the model, found a factory part, and agreed to replace our blower for $143 (which we had him do). When I called REM to talk about their bid, I mentioned that I had found someone to replace the blower for considerably less than their quote. They then offered to do the work for $350. This company is very professional, prompt, thorough, clean and respectful and I would highly recommend their work. If price is a concern for you, however, I would also recommend being very direct with them about your intentions to get other bids and, if the repairs are going to be expensive, definitely get other bids first.

Our air conditioner was fixed right the first time REM came. It has worked better than ever since that time.

REM Air conditioning saved the day for me when at 4PM on a Friday afternoon I noticed my house felt kind of warm I checked my thermostat . It was set at 77 degrees and it read 81 degrees. I was in a panic because I had a party at the house that night and I was expecting people to arrive starting at 6PM! I had only recently joined Angie's list when a great deal was offered on Groupon. Here was my first opportunity to use it. I looked up top rated heating and air conditioning companies with little hope of finding someone on a Friday evening. My second phone call I was informed by a very nice receptionist that a technician would be at my house by 5:30PM. The technician arrived as promised. He did a tune up and added freon to the cooling unit and was gone just as guest started to arrive. I am very happy with the excellant service and response time I received from REM Air Conditioning! Thank you so much.

The first time we used REM was earlier in the week to see what the problem was and do routine maintenance. They had to send someone else to do the repair work. Both times the technician was timely, friendly, knowledgable, and informative. We are very satisfied with the company and would definitely use them again.

It went just fine. I was a little disgruntled at the price. He was only here for an hour but they informed me that the capacitor cost a little more and when I contacted them and explained that I was dissatisfied, the manager reviewed my bill and offered a $66.00 refund. I still think that with the refund I was over charged but it's better than nothing.

Overall, it was a very pleasant experience all things considered.

I was extremely happy with them. They were on-time, and they called right at the top of the window that they gave me. He was neat, courteous, prompt, and professional. He did exactly what they said he would. I watched the whole time, and he gave me a lot of tips for what I could do to maintain my A/C myself; I really appreciated that.

Joe Minchner, the President of REM, came out to evaluate my old system. He spent quite a bit of time looking things over and educating me about different options. He made a recommendation for new units and some changes that would make the units more efficient. Joe has been in the business a long time and he is very knowledgeable. REM did a terrific job and I would not hesitate to recommend them. And, after I had made the decision to go with REM I found out that the property manager my daughter works for has used REM for 10+ years. She raved about REM, which made me feel even more confident that I had made the right decision in choosing REM for this work.

Joe Mincher, owner and sales engineer, came out to give us an estimate. He was extremely knowledgeable and went over and beyond in explaining things to us. His recommendations included information that was never brought up by another company we had talked to and made perfect sense once he explained it. (Specifically, noticing that our air returns were insufficient for the size of our house. Without increasing the total size of the air returns, we would not get optimal performance from new equipment. He also helped us to decide what wasn't necessary such as totally replacing duct work in areas that were almost inaccessible.) After spending considerable time evaluating our current system and discussing options with us, my husband and I felt totally comfortable in signing a contract to replace both our air handler and condenser. When Joe's team arrived to begin work, they were on time, extremely professional, and extremely courteous. We felt absolutely confident that the job would be completed quickly and with the highest quality. Not only did they install the new units, they enlarged the ceiling access in the hallway, created a platform underneath the unit in the attic, added two new air returns, and re-attached or straightened all of the duct work to assure that it was intact. When they left, my house was as clean as before they came! It's been over a month since this work was completed, and we have no regrets at all in hiring this company. We recommend Rem Air Conditioning and Heating to anyone needing services such as this. They are a credit to their profession!

The Sales Engineer arrived promptly and was very thorough in his examination of the sites for the new air handler and heat pump and explained what needed to happen for removal and installation. I could not have asked for a more detailed proposal. However, due to my finances, I had to go with the most affordable quote.

We have had an ongoing problem where the air conditioner leaked into a drip pan, when the pan got full of water the air conditioned automatically shuts down to avoid any water leaking onto the floor. I had another company come out and service the unit several times but they never fixed the problem thoroughly. It would last for a month or two and I would have to call them back for the same problem. The technician from REM came out first thing in the morning and had the job completed in about 3-4 hours. The air conditioner works better than it ever did. I used to have to set the thermostat around 68 degrees to keep the house comfortable, now I set it at 75 and it is perfect. Additionally my first electric bill after the repair was about $30.00 less than what my previous bills were running. Great work

They weren't the cheapest, but they were very detailed and took the time to explain everything that needed to be done and the difference in different air conditioning systems. They really went above & beyond. As a follow up, the brand new system was damaged in a storm. REM came out right away to check the damage and has been helping us work with the insurance agency to get everything back up and running. I can't say enough about the wonderful service they provide. This is a company that gives real value and treats you like you're their no. 1 customer.

I got a lot of estimates from a lot of companies and I felt that this company was the most straight forward and provided options for reworking the entire house and they stuck to their estimate. They were extremely fast. They redid the entire house in a day. They bought a whole lot of people and they ripped out all the ductwork and replaced it in one long day. The workers were good. It was a big mess but they cleaned everything up as they went along and it was perfect when the day was done. One of the owners came out and gave the quote. They are extremely trustworthy, provided valuable information and explained a lot of things to me, and gave me suggestions. Their work is top notch. They came and checked up everything a few weeks ago, and they have given me a years' free maintenance checkups. I would use them in the future.

They did not pressure us at all. They were very honest. They did not try to sell us anything they were professional.

The technician was exactly on time, was extremely professional and curteous. He gave us an estimate of what repairs would cost, which we found to be quite reasonable, and offered us the same price as quoted by the receptionist if we decided not to do the repairs at that time. There was no pressure from him either way, just what the work would cost and what we could expect for results. He then completed the work in about 30 minutes and charged us the same price he had quoted. The repairs were effective and the unit has worked great ever since. We found this to be a professional and reputable company and would not hesitate to hire them again in the future.

Very professional service technician thoroughly cleaned and made minor repairs on two of my heat pumps. REM service and pricing was superior to other services I have used.

I would highly recommend this company. Mid summer in Florida and the A/C upstairs went out, they quickly installed an energy efficient system with great care. Followed up to make sure everything was operating efficiently and to my satisfaction. Great customer service! I will be contacting them again when the downstairs unit is ready for replacement. They were very honest and I appreciate that greatly.
