Plumber Thomas Witkop and his coworker, Drew spent three days replacing 90 year old water lines and sewer pipes under my house and replaced the interior pipes in kitchen, bathroom and cloths washer. They worked tirelessly to complete the major work. In addition to Red Cap Plumbing, I would highly recommend Thomas and Drew to anyone needing plumbing services.

We have had a maintenance service contract with Red Cap Plumbing for four years, and have always been pleased with their service. On 5/17/16, Red Cap's technician, Nelson, arrived during the time range given at the time that we made our appointment. He was very friendly and extremely professional. He inspected all of our plumbing fixtures/connections and flushed our water heater. When he finished, he provided us with a written description of his findings, recommended current and future fixes, and then, completed the needed repair. We would give Nelson and Red Cap Plumbing an "A" grade, and will definitely keep using their services in the future.

I give them a B overall. It wasn't a huge project; it was only about $150.

Sears (I didn't buy from them) offers an install for $129 for a dishwasher but Red Cap Plumbing quoted $839!! To replace the fawcet it would be $450 (I've seen $119 on Angieslist)! I was born at night but not last night. Also, the plumber went to his truck to write the estimate. When he came back to show me the estimate, I was in my bedroom but I found him waiting inside my house. He didn't even knock but just let himself in. Unreal!

Jamar arrived at the scheduled time and carefully explained what he found that needed attention and explained the options. We have had a membership for several years and they always are very responsive and thorough as well as very professional. We renewed our membership without hesitation.

Red Cap Plumbing kept me informed of who was coming and his arrival time which is important to me. The service rep assessed the issues and explained every step that would be required to fix the problems. He left both showers clean...you would not have known he was here.

I have been dealing with a clogged kitchen drain for a couple of weeks. It would drain very slowly, so for a while it was still functional. Recently, it just reached its limit and would no longer drain. I have a manual snake and attempted using that a couple times and it was not clearing the full clog. I knew I needed a simple clean out using a heavier duty machine. I also was tired of messing with it. I started calling around and the rates to perform this easy fix were very high. Too high to pull the trigger really because I knew I could ultimately rent the machine and do it myself. So I happen to be driving to work, saw a Red Cap truck with the number on it and decided to call. Told the dispatcher the same story I told all the other plumbers but the price quote was a whole lot better. I scheduled the appt. for a 12p-4p weekday window. The only glitch came on appt. day. RC called me mid morning to tell me my plumber was finishing up a job in Riverview and I was next. I am in Lutz. I could expect him around 1130a. No one showed at 1130a or 12p or 1230p. So I called back in. Found out my plumber was now in S. Tampa doing a job. I had skipped something in the late morning due to the first call, so I was little upset about this change. I was now told a more accurate time. Sure enough, he arrived close to that time. My plumber was awesome. Polite, friendly, funny and professional. Showed him my issue, told him what I had done and what I wanted him to do. He concurred with my initial assessment. He got out the mechanical snake, fed it down the outside access point and within seconds we were all clear. Hooray!! We did a couple other tests to be sure. Used the hose to bulk feed water, ran the dishwasher so it would drain and all was good. All told, he was in and out in about 30 minutes. Took him longer to carry in the snake than to use it. I will call Red Cap first going forward for sure. I will just get more specific details on the timetable. Side note, was speaking with my parents later and discovered they also use Red Cap. I cant remember the plumbers name but I have it on the receipt and will add it to this review later.

I thought I might have some blockages in my drain lines. Nick gave a good look in the lines and didn't find any issues. He suggested some remedies if a problem did occur , I appreciated his honesty.

I had tried to fix the leaking toilet myself, its in a tight spot and I was having difficulty removing the fill valve. Kevin had it removed in two minutes, i'd spent hours on it. It was a simple fix for Kevin. He represented Red Cap very well, a true asset to the company.

I had the old galvanised pipe in my house , it had sprung a leak in a wall so i decided it was time to replace all the pipes. This was my first time using this company. I didnt shop the price to much because i wanted a large company to do the job. They have teams of people who just repipe homes. I was of course concerned about damage to my walls etc.. Dan ,George and Jake were the team.I think they did an excellent job. This is not some big fancy home but the team treated it as though it was their own and i was shocked at how small the openings were that they had to cut.Maybe these guys were heart surgeons in another life .They covered all the openings and left the place looking brand new. The next day the city came to inspect and all went well. Within an hour Hunter arrived to backfill in the dirt for the pipe from the water meter. I had a slight concern and Hunter immediately stopped what he was doing and came inside and resolved the issue.The real test of a company is how they will respond if i have an issue under warranty with Red Cap but so far for a first time customer they have exceeded my expectations with excellent employees.

excellent if there was a grade better than "A" I would give it! plumber worked until 10:00 PM on a Friday night to get the job finished!

Nick arrived later that afternoon. He was very professional and explained exactly what he was going to do to clean our the lines to the septic tank. Before doing the work he explained exactly what he was going to do and how much it was going to cost. Nick then cleaned the pipes from the bathroom furthest from the septic tank all the way to the septic tank and found they were clean and clear of obstructions. This, however, did not solve the problem so he recommended a septic tank cleaning service and said that would solve the problem, which id did the next day.

Once again Nick was very professional and courteous and explained exactly what he was going to do and the cost. He then installed the toilet along with the "soft-close" seat, made sure it all worked well, cleaned up the area where he was working and took away all the packing material and the old toilet. An excellent job.

Went well. Checked drain line visually via clean-out opening and used video camera to check for clogs closer to the street.

Very disappointed - they wouldn't come to the house - too far.

We've been using Red Cap for 10 years. At this point they've re-plumbed our entire house and shed. In the past, we've been satisfied with the work and happy with the customer service and responsiveness. In the past week we've had such a terrible experience with them that we're shopping for a new plumber. The bad experience involved more than one employee and over several days. We want to replace an acrylic shower unit with a tile show and wanted an estimate to have Red Cap install the shower pan. I called on a Tuesday and asked for an estimate. I was told the Project Manager would call me back by the end of the day. He didn't call until the next day. i explained what we wanted done, he said they could definitely do that and he wanted to come out to the house to discuss the job. He told me he had to speak to the project coordinator to schedule a time to come out and he would call me back by the end of the day. For the second time, he didn't call until the next day, which was Thursday. He told me someone would be at our house at 9:00 am on Saturday. Saturday morning no one from Red Cap showed up at 9:00 am as promised. Finally, I called the office at 9:30 am to say no one has shown up. I was told we were the second call of the day and she didn't know when the tech would be done with the job he was on now. I explained to her what we were told and the troubles we had just getting the appointment scheduled. She was very apologetic. I told her we were long time customers and had never encountered this problem with Red Cap before. Red Cap was known for their responsiveness and customer service and all of a sudden we had multiple problems just trying to get an estimate. She promised to convey the information to the supervisor and I asked if she could also share it with the owner, John. The tech finally showed up and we got an estimate. He, too, apologized repeatedly. On Monday I got a call from the supervisor he said he'd heard we'd had some trouble and then he relayed what he'd heard happened, which wasn't even accurate. I explained the story to him and told him that this is not what we expected from Red Cap and unlike our experiences with the company for the past 10 years. He apologized profusely and promised to take care of the situation. Wednesday, 4 days after we got the estimate, I called Red Cap to schedule the job. I told the girl who answered the phone that I needed to know how long the work would take in order to schedule it. She said I need to speak to the project coordinator and put me on hold. After about a minute she came back and said the project coordinator was away from her desk and would call me as soon as she got back. 3 hours later I still hadn't heard from her so I called Red Cap again. This time I got another girl so I had to explain the whole situation all over again. She put me on hold while she looked for the project coordinator. When the much sought after project coordinator finally got on the phone she immediately told me that something must be wrong with my phone number or my phone because she had been trying to reach me and hadn't been able to! My phone was sitting on my desk at work the whole time I was waiting for a call back. I had received several other calls with no issues. She had no idea what I was calling about and couldn't answer any of my questions about the job so that I could schedule it. And this is supposedly the person in charge of scheduling!! She seemed very put out that I expected her to actually find answers to my questions and she couldn't have cared less about actually scheduling the job. I told her we had never had so many problems with Red Cap in the 10 years we'd been using them and that this experience was forcing us to find another plumber. And she had nothing to say to that. Not an apology, not an effort to try to rectify the situation, not a promise to find answers to my questions. She just let me say good-bye and hang up. The supervisor called the next day and left a message on my voicemail. He said he'd "heard we'd had some more trouble" and relayed some version of what happened that was not accurate. I didn't bother calling back because once again, the supervisor's follow-up on issues we had were a day late and not accurate. I'm not sure what has happened to that company this year but things seem to have gone sideways. No one seems to know anything about anything and you have to talk to 3 or 4 different people just to get something scheduled. I understand a company growing but the company we dealt with this week is so far removed from the Red Cap we have dealt with for the past decade. We won't use Red Cap again.

I hired someone to replace my kitchen sink and install an under the counter water filter system. It did not go well. My one leak turned into five. I called Red Cap Plumbing to the rescue and to my delight the technician was Carl. He has worked on other problems at my house and I knew I could count on him to fix my issues. Carl is easy going and always professional. He made sure all the repairs were done right and I can honestly say I won't be calling any other company in the future. I'm super grateful to Red Cap Plumbing and Carl, especially, for taking such good care of me. Great job guys and thank you again!

They have been great. They're professional and advised me what they were doing all along the way and showed me a video of what was happening in the pipes so it wasn't just their word, so they were very good.

This should be Angie's List. They were good. The only thing I didn't like... I have to give them a C for the price. They wanted about $600 more to clean it out, which I thought was excessive so I declined that particular service. The whole house kind of got backedup and so I had to get a professional plumber out to snake it. They just snake out the pipes to allow it to drain properly. They came out and did that. They got the breakthrough and got it done. It was the most competitive price I should say, overall.

Thomas, Hunter, and Jacob appeared at my house right on time, checked out where the water heater and filter was to go, explained every thing they were going to do and went right to work. They even made appropriate changes in my water closet to accommodate the water heater. When they were done Thomas explained how to set the temperature, how to clean the filter and what to do if I went on vacation( turn off the heater and water to the house)

My air conditioner repair man tipped me off that he heard the fizzing sound of a pressurized pipe leaking at one of my rental houses. I checked it out and could hear it too. I opened up the skirting on the manufacture home and cut through the insulation. I could see the pipe squirting water. I called Red Cap Plumbing and they sent a man and truck out and he repaired the leak within about 30 minutes. He did a good job. They have a price list rather than an hourly rate which seems a bit odd. He gave me a discount, but still made good money. He showed me were the mice had chewed on the pipe and caused the leak. I appreciate him pointing that out. I followed up with mice/rat poison!

Red cap responded quickly and offered an exceptional deal for an annual contract. Thankfully we have only had to call them one time for a backed up toilet. We previously had a home warranty that we would use, but it could take up to 2 days for a plumber to come out to the home. When I called Red cap they sent someone out first thing the next morning.

Jamar was wonderful!! He showed me little issues and we discussed solutions. He was very thorough.
